When has Dirk complained about being fouled when he wasn't actually hit? When has Dirk flopped like a fish out of water because someone tried to back him down in the series? When has a reporter or commentator called him on flopping, or pushing off, or trying to tackle a guy by the jersey? See, Dirk actually gets HIT and then complains. The Suns do NOT, and then complain. It's not even close to being the same thing. Ginobili, Duncan, Parker, Bowen and Pops play the same game that Phoenix does. Dirk doesn't.

From said article Word.

I think Tito's guys have listened for the most part, and unsurprisingly they've won every fight they should have and one or two they probably shouldn't have. Meanwhile, Shamrock's squad never seem to listen to the rare advice Ken dispenses. He only told Mike to throw a high kick and/or a knee about 200 times last night and I think we got 1 knee and a halfhearted attempt at a high kick.

No, I said Kobe's the most talented player in the league. Dirk was the best all around player this year and should have been the MVP.

Jorge Julio did the Mets a favor tonight by closing out a game against the Braves. However, if the D-Backs think he's the answer in the closer spot I feel for them.

Because Sierra Mist is the Zima of the soft drink section.

Raise your right hand if you're the best player in the NBA this year.

Mike is quite possibly the worst fighter I've seen on this show. Aside from upkicks he's done shit against a guy who can't use one arm or hear what's being said.

Like you wouldn't mark if that annoying screaming girl from New York the late 90's was back in it. That bitch was on Rosie, Lettermen, the Today Show, her mother was singing the praises of homeschooling. Way to go, your daughter can spell but has no social skills. YAY!!! I wasn't proud of that chick. The uptight bitch is from Jersey, so even if she wins she's still from the armpit of America. What's with the Canuck getting all these French words? The fix is in! J/K

You Canadians are such homers

How was that a foul on Stackhouse?

At least the Math one requires calculations and quick thought. This is just forcing a kid from the age of 5 to try and memorize the dictionary. It's child abuse damnit!

But I can play along and learn something from the fatties playing poker. These dweeblings, or anyone watching, will never use any of these words in regular conversation. I might learn that A10 suited vs something like 8s is a coinflip and apply that to my weekly poker games later on in life. Knowing what croquignole is and how to spell it is useless however. Any of the classic eliminations will be on SportsCenter later on tonight anyway, and really what are the odds that another lamer faints?

I was just flipping through the channels and saw the OCD kid miss a word. I thought that was pretty funny, but then again I don't see how nerds spelling words can be riveting TV to anyone besides older nerds.

Having a bunch of future Hall of Famers on the side has that effect. Looks like Zoolander's going the way of Josh Beckett with that blister.

I'd just like to say this series is why I expect Los Tigres to watch the postseason from their respective homes. I just don't see the White Sox, Yankees or Red Sox getting blown out and swept at home in a 4 game set by a real contender.

That's the answer I'd give too. Sprite is not a problem for me, but that's mainly because it's the only soda I drink regularly.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-o...=yhoo&type=lgns A pretty interesting take on the most overpaid and underpaid MLB'ers thus far in 2006. Unsurprisingly, 3 Yankees made the overpaid list.

I don't really care much for the French Open, but my picks going in were JHH to repeat and even though logic says Nadal will as well, I think he'll get bounced in the QF or SF round leaving Fed to complete the 'Roger Slam'. I still think it's funny that lots of so called tennis fans had Petrova winning this tourney.

Miami needs to win it in 6. I think Shaq will carry them to victory. His whole season rides on this one game. To answer the question, you can't have the NBA game become softer than the NCAA one. You can't have pros diving to the floor every time someone slightly larger posts them up. Just like it didn't work when people basically threw someone face first into the floor routinely, you can't turn the league into a joke on the defensive end. Two of the four teams in the WC Semis spent more time flopping than playing defense. If you don't think that's a problem, that's one thing, but it does take away from the enjoyment of a game when you have to be more concerned with how the referees CALL the game than how the players PLAY the game. I think everyone can agree that refs should be seen and not heard, but if one team is constantly flopping, then the officiating crew will dictate who wins games and who doesn't simply because one team's players will be in foul trouble from start to finish of every big game.

I know he missed the foul shots, but where they airballs or bricks? I can't remember, but that moment pretty much killed the Magic franchise for quite some time, so good example.

The Spurs and Suns are two of the five or six best teams in the league and both play the clutch and flop. The Pistons way of playing ball won't work anymore and Dallas and Miami are where they are because they excel on both ends of the floor. If the Suns win the title this year, trust me when I tell you a lot of undersized teams will model themselves after the Suns. Pro sports are all about copying what worked. There's a reason the NBA nearly died from 75 points being enough to win any game. Why bother wasting energy playing defense when you can just run up and down on offense and fall down whenever someone moves towards the basket on defense? That brand of basketball will kill the need for any kind of big men who can't run up and down the court, and there's no reason to have guys like Shaq or Yao on your payroll if they can't guard a 6'8 "center" who can shoot well on one end of the court and fall over whenever they get posted up. So is this what the Knicks/Heat did, or the Suns are doing? You mixed both of them up. And if both played the same way, why would one score like 30 more points than the other? Try making your point clear. Are you still in Junior High? I mean, anyone with basic reading comprehension could see that I was talking about two different trends. The first of which was streetball, the second of which is the Suns and Spurs just diving around the court. Seriously bro, learn to comprehend pretty simple arguments. If you take the sentence before the one you bolded I fucking spelled it out for you. Sports teams copy what works. Back in the day it was throwing guys on the other team to the floor on defense, now it's throwing yourself to the floor on defense.

Endy Chavez with another walkoff single for the Mets. Sadly, Pedro didn't get a win this month despite a few gems, but we'll take it any way we can get it at this point.

How do you function in everyday life with no basic understanding of words? TRENDS start when people see things are successful. In the NBA during the 1990's, horrible offensive teams (the Cavs, Knicks, Heat etc) couldn't outscore anyone so they took it upon themselves to try and make games in the 70's or 80's by mugging dudes, milking the shot clock and dribbling the air out of the ball. When it worked as much as it did, other teams did it too, to the point where the NBA had to completely rewrite the defensive rulebook to try and inject some offense back into the game. If the Suns can win a title this year playing no traditional bigs and no defense whatsoever, aside from diving on every bump on the low block, other defensively challenged teams will follow the model because they'll see that it can work. The Knicks for example would benefit from abandoning that half of the court and teaching Marbury, Francis, Crawford et al to just flop every play and hope for the best.
