With all due respect, you don't really understand how relationships work. If a woman asks if you're going to be somewhere, and here's the tricky part YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH HER, you make it a point to go there whether that was your plan beforehand or not. If a woman invites you over, you go. If you can't make it, you don't hang up the phone or what have you until a backup plan is made. Again, dating is not rocket science. You've probably shitted the bed with this girl, but that doesn't mean you can't learn from the experience.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Most people had the Lakers winning the WCF and the NBA Finals handily in 2004. Only the ECF was without a big favorite. Therefore, 2/3 of the last 3 series of the year had big time favorites. Just because the Lakers didn't win, doesn't mean that they weren't huge favorites going in. On the other hand this year, if you have Cavs/Heat and Mavs/Suns or Clippers, there's no team that is a monster favorite in any of those pairings just because the Cavs would have eliminated the best team in the league, and the Mavs have had their issues with the Suns for example. Almost any permutation with those five teams would see at least 4 analysts out of 10 picking each team. I don't recall the last time that's happened simply because over the last 25 years you could always rely on either the Spurs, Shaq/Kobe Lakers, Jordan Bulls, Nasty Boy Pistons, Rockets, Bird Celtics or Magic/Kareem Lakers as the team to beat. If Detroit and San Antonio lose tonight, the Cavs would be considered the weakest team at the end, but they could just as easily win as a Dallas or Miami.

Stacy Keibler suffers seizure: rushed to NYC Hospital
naiwf replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
You're missing my point. Who was the last (quasi)celeb to pose for Playboy? Assuming you know who it is, what was the spike in purchases simply because Celeb X was in it? Keibler's not going to crack sales records because the only way you do that is with incessant promotion, and that's not something she'll get from nonpartisan outlets. In the never gonna happen but fun to speculate game, I'd go so far as to say that a complete unknown like Katharine McPhee would outsell Stacey just because more people watch American Idol than DWTS, and she's more recent. I don't think most wrestling fans even buy the Playboy issues when you can just get the pics online anyway, but that's just me. -
Who had the T-Wolves beating the Lakers? Detroit/Indy was a pick'em, but many people had the Lakers being the overwhelming favorites in the Finals as well. Granted they lost, but that doesn't change the fact that the Lakers were the favorites throughout the playoffs once they beat the Spurs in the Semis.

Stacy Keibler suffers seizure: rushed to NYC Hospital

Why did Sable, and a manbeast like Chyna have some of the highest selling issues ever? Was it because they were that good looking? Or did maybe months upon months of promotion on WWE TV have anything to do with it? There's a difference between being more recognizable, and having promotion behind an appearance. If the WWE doesn't back her, how will word get out? She's not a household name. She's not Jessica Alba, or Jessica Simpson or someone of that ilk who Hef could recoup a hefty appearance fee from due to added sales. -
You said she asked if you were going, and you already knew she was going. Put 2 and 2 together dude. That's about as good of an invite as you're ever going to get from a female. Seriously, any rational woman would have cut ties with you since you've rejected her twice already.

Because of the magazine sales numbers. Who would promote her in the mag? She's basically trying to cut ties with the WWE, and Keibler's not a big enough name to warrant huge sales on her own. If you're going to waste money get a household name. -
This is why guaranteed contracts suck. Pavano just keeps stealing money.

Nady rocks the Little Unit, 5-5 Btm 3!

Mets/Yanks gets underway with Damon ripping a double off of Gonzalez. I predict a 9-3 loss tonight, with Jeremi only giving us about 3 1/3 IP. Ugh.

If he's getting punished because it's blatant, should we expect a suspension the next time that Pedro Martinez buzzes the light tower? As I said, the pitch that hit him seemed intentional, as it hit him squarely in the back on a 3-1 count. If he didn't feel like pitching to him, all he had to do was offer one outside the plate. Instead of doing that, he drilled him in the back and, given the warning that was made earlier in the at-bat, he was thrown out of the ballgame appropriately. But, in terms of intent, just how blatant was it? As I said, some of the media almost have Springer rocking back and forth in the locker room, frothing at the mouth, thumbing through a stack of Barry Bonds cards that he's spent his life's salary collecting, all because Barry hit a home run off of him in 2001. There are plate appearances other than the two HBPs and the home runs - maybe I'm being dense, but I don't see the vendetta here. And the punishment seems to fit a vendetta, rather than an intentional HBP after a warning. Being blatant with an action doesn't mean that you would have had to carry a lifelong grudge. When's the last time you saw a pitcher throw no fewer than FOUR pitches directly at someone with the intent of hitting him? It's not Barry's fault that Springer missed him the first handful of times. What Springer did was just as premeditated as Delmon Young throwing his bat at the ump and then saying he didn't mean to hit him. The intent was there. The punishment if anything is too lenient.

Your coach is Flip Squanders. If the Pistons win it'll be solely based on the level of play from the guys on the court. Quick pregame update - Hughes will dress but won't play.
-
I meant to put this up earlier but Bubba Crosby is now on the 15 day DL, so the Yanks are now down to their # 6 option in the outfield.

Maddux is getting lit up again, 6-1 Sox bottom 5.

Randy's not into girls, hence his rage towards the fairer sex. -
How funny would it be if we ended up with the LA B team vs Miami in the NBA Finals? Kobe and Buss would have a bunch of sleepless nights if either the Clippers or Shaq won a title before they did. And for those of you who are upset you won't have playoff hoops tomorrow night, just remember that the WNBA's 10th season begins tomorrow!

Seriously, why would Playboy make her an offer? You've already seen her only asset thousands of times over the years. Why should Hef pay 6 figures or better for her to show the mosquito bites? -

C'mon. Any MLB pitcher who throws at a guy four or five STRAIGHT pitches should be fortunate to only get suspended for 4 games. He was throwing nothing but high cheese after the ball that went behind Bonds' back. Even Clemens didn't go after Piazza that hard. Any about the Arkansas guy, I fall back to the parenting device when a kid is crying, "You want to cry eh? I'll give you something to cry about!". I would have drilled that guy like Springer did to Bonds just to prove a point.

I'll go with 30 seconds.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that even if a woman invited Marvin in for "coffee", while she was taking her clothes off, he'd still say something like "I don't really like coffee, and even if I did, it's far too late for me to have coffee. You see the caffeine wouldn't let me sleep, and I have to be up early in the morning."?

Because it got cancelled for a simple reason, the ratings were bad. It's also not funny. It also spawned the even worse American Dad.

ER, Family Guy, The Apprentice, The King of Queens (which I like, but lost its spark when Leah Remini got pregnant), any of those lameass "comedies" on UPN, and lastly Raw & SmackDown.

I want both games tonight to end with elimination. Why? Because an NBA Playoffs devoid of San Antonio and Detroit will give every remaining team a legitimate chance at winning the NBA title. When's the last time we didn't have a clear cut favorite for every remaining series when we got down to the Conference Finals? Out of the Cavs, Heat, Mavs, Clippers/Suns you could make a claim that any of those teams could beat the others, and I'd rather have that than two potential blowout game 7's on Monday night.

I don't know about you but if I was the Ole Miss manager, I would have told my pitcher to drill that pussy right in his back.
