No, I believe we'd end up 6th because both Philly and the Devs would have more wins than we do, and I'm fairly certain that's the first tiebreaker. We need a 'W' to guarantee the 3 seed.

Turn that frown upside down. It's a glorious day when Mo blows a save Is Mo hated in New York, too? Nah, even Mets fans respect him. It's kind of like a Federer loss where you're just surprised to see it happen since it's so rare. Mo blowing that save made up for the Mets getting curbstomped by the Brew Crew yesterday. It's nice to still not have a losing streak this "late" in the season after last year's start. The citywide wailing and gnashing of teeth will began WHEN, not if, we lose our first series to the Braves though, so I'm just enjoying the ride.

Orton and credibility in the same sentence is like saying Cena carried someone to a ***** match.

He's given up 8 runs in two innings of work...damn. He wasn't that bad with the Orioles. He usually just gave up three or four runs every eight innings. That didn't include today's effort. His season total is now 11 runs in 3.2 IP

At 8-2, I'd say the Latino Mets are doing just fine. Our only two losses came when the white boys pitched poorly. Seriously though, I think the whole thing is overblown. It's not like Delgado, Beltran and others were bums. . . well except for Julio, but that's mainly because they wanted to get rid of Anna Benson.

Jorge Julio for Cy Young. This guy is MONEY. . . for the opposition.

I'm not saying Ben Wallace deserves the MVP, I'm saying he's more valuable to the Pistons than Billups is. If you traded them another comparable guy at that position, they would have more of a drop off than if you gave them an upper tier point guard. Chris Paul for instance would have done just as well running the point in Detroit as Billups did, but if you put Yao Ming or someone of that ilk, the Pistons would be a 53 win team right now instead of 63. Not having to worry about the defender blowing by you because Big Ben is back there is just as good as having a guy who scores 15 or so PPG. If "winning is more important than stats", then Nash can't win it this year because his main reason for winning it last year was that he made the Suns "so much better" than in 2004. We all know now that both Marion and Amare are top 15-20 guys in the league. Any team that has 2 or 3 of the best players in the league SHOULD win 50+, and we can't attribute all of that to Nash. When Boris Diaw basically ran the point and got a triple double last night without Nash in the lineup I'm more inclined to believe that the system makes Nash look brilliant because he doesn't have to even attempt to play 'D'. I can't give a guy the MVP when he's a liability on one end of the floor, which plays into the whole reason no one would ever look twice at Ben getting it either. Nowitzki has a good supporting cast, but if you had him, Amare and Marion on a team those guys wouldn't lose any games. I'm exaggerating, but you should see the point just the same. Mainly, I went with Dirk because I couldn't find someone on the Pistons or Spurs who stood out as THE definitive reason that their team won 60+. With Dallas, it's easy to see who was the main reason. Everyone else didn't win enough games, and/or wasn't as good as last year or seasons in the past to warrant the award. Having said all that Canadian Jesus will win it again, or the media will give it to LeBron just to start the King James era. Neither of those choices would be egregious, but neither would be right either.

When did ESPN start to suck? I have them on a steady decline when they were purchased by ABC/Disney. Before that, it seemed like they had good sports reporters who were actually talented. Now it just seems like they get the guys who couldn't make it on ABC NEWS. Hell, Sportscenter has become ABC News with all the stupid feature stories and the constant 'we must talk about this even though there is nothing to talk about' reporting. ESPN started to suck when Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick split when Keith bolted to another network. The problem compounded when they started hiring about 20 of the exact same guy.

Eddie losing about 7 matches to Rey in one year was the first thing that popped into my head.

Would you care to explain the logic of Billups being the MVP of the league when Ben Wallace is clearly the MVP of the Pistons. Nash doesn't deserve it this year either and Parker will never win an MVP as long as Duncan's in the league. Because I am saying that Ben Wallace isn't the MVP of the Pistons. It isn't clearly. In the clutch, Billups is the one who bails them out. Defensively he does a monster of a job on the opposing teams guards, and is really underrated in that aspect by the fans. He All Defensive team selections show that some people notice. Ben while he is a great rebounder, and help defender, is a liability at the end of games. I don't see how anyone can be an MVP and you need to take them out of games in clutch situations. Would you care to explain how Nash or Billups aren't the MVP? Who is then? You want Nash to win MVP when he couldn't defend me one on one? Wallace is more important to the success of the Pistons than Billups is, so Chauncey's out. Marion is a legit MVP candidate in his own right, so that cancels out Nash's importance if two guys in the same starting 5 are getting legit consideration to be the league's most valuable player. As for who I'd give it to, I'd go with Nowitzki. He's getting 26.6, 9 & 3 on a team with ~60 wins and no other All-Star level players. I'd put LeBron second because Wade faded down the stretch and he didn't, Kobe 3rd even though he's the league's BEST player, Wade 4th and Nash 5th.

I think Simon realizes that there's no money to be made with Pickler. He won't allow her to win since she's basically Carrie Lite, and if back to back country chicks won the show they'd alienate a ton of fans. It's Chris or Taylor's to win now since Katharine doesn't want to show boob anymore.

The Mets are going to lose this game 5-4. I can feel it. Glad I was wrong, but that was a hell of a nailbiter for the last 3 innings.
-
The Cards are overrated. Yeah, I said it.
-
That Jenkins swing scared the shit out of me. One of the last Mets games I went to he hit a late HR to give them the lead off of Armando "No Lead Is Safe" Benitez.

Heilman is doing his best to rob Glavine of # 277.

That Lo Duca play was ridiculous though. You've got to let Mr. Wright swing the bat with men on the corners.

I wouldn't say that when one of the best goal tenders in hockey and 3 of their top 6 defensement are all injured. How many games do you expect the rangers to win when Weekes plays nightly. They were like 8 minutes away from beating the Devils which would have clinched the division I think. They couldn't even hold on to the 2-2 tie until OT to at least get a point off of them. They very well could lose their last 2 and then have to play Buffalo on the road as a 5 seed after basically only needing 2 wins in their last 5 or 6 games to clinch the division and the 3rd seed. Granted, Henrik would have made a huge difference but they've been just close enough in every game that it looks more lik a choke than a lack of talent/effort nightly. I hope you get where I'm coming from.

Shamrock's team better win strictly on talent because his coaching/training techniques leave a LOT to be desired. This season could easily be the best of the three since it's already surpassed last year's effort.

I think all of Tito's team has hearing issues. Last week he told the guy not to pull guard, so he did. This week he tells his guy, UNDERHOOK THE LEFT ARM, so he doesn't. Nice fucking sub.

Is Bisping the British spelling of "bitching" here in the States?
-
I missed the first 10 minutes, is the fight set up already or was Tait just being a retard when he said the basketball nerd was going to get his ass run through like a train?
-
The Rangers are attempting an epic chokejob down the stretch here. Ugh.
