Pudge Rodriguez to the Yankees for Kyle Farnsworth. WTF? I guess the old days of everyone bending over and taking it in the ass so the Yankees can win playoff games has returned.
-
Did they really think that Tex was going to take about a $30+ million hometown discount? The Yankees are going to break the bank to get him.
-
Wrong MLB thread to talk about the Teixiera trade. My bad.

I think my next pick is one of the most improved workers in the US over the last year. I've also probably seen every episode of the 5 or so Real World/Road Rules Challenge seasons that he was on and think that once he left to focus on wrestling the challenges weren't as good. I'm convinced he will make my fans happy when an as yet undetermined babyface beats his ass for their amusement. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm going with The Miz.

For the love of all that is good and holy, get a bullpen arm by Thursday Minaya. Ugh.

Posada's done for the year. I hope the next few days aren't full of as many "Will Manny be traded?" stories as there are "Will Favre be traded?" stories because I might just have an aneurysm if that's the case.

Valdosta, Georgia is Titletown USA with almost 30% of the vote. I guess everyone in Georgia took this like it was "serious business". Give me a fucking break. Boston was # 5 and was the only town with a pro sports team besides Green Bay (#3) in the top 6. ESPN is useless.

I guess I expect the pouting Vince Carter to show up because he'll be double teamed quite often this year since the Nets don't really have any other quality options on offense. Having said that they should be better than the Knicks but that's not saying much, if anything.
-
Nenad Kristic is apparently heading overseas. The Nets are going to be horrid this year.

I pretty much agree entirely with that, and that Keesha is being such an idiot because she's very jealous of Angie. The whole alliance of 8 is about to crumble after this elimination because if they vote Angie out, then you've got Jessie, Michelle, Memphis & Dan only in need of Renny on their side to potentially take down Keesha, Ollie, April, Libra and Jerry who don't have a single intelligent player amongst them. If Angie stays then just swap her in for Jessie. The game is going to come down to whoever can get the floaters (Dan, Jerry & Renny) on their side first and that basically comes down to which side of the house wins this next HoH. If Angie/Jessie, Michelle or Memphis wins then the miserable bitch squad, which includes Jerry, will finally be broken up. If not, then I don't really have any reason to watch the rest of the season because the "holy rollers" are more annoying than ever.

Keesha is a fucking retard. That is all.

The Bears can't score points and spent a whole lot of money keeping the defense intact and just put about $4 million a year guaranteed on a kick returner. You need money to be able to pay guys when they come along and if the Bears keep spending it on one side of the ball they'll never have a competent offense. Basically they'll be the Ravens.
-
I heard someone on either ESPN or NBC say that Hester's deal was worth at LEAST $30 million and that $15 million is guaranteed. I guess the Bears think that having a quality QB is a luxury and not a necessity.

Thankfully Santana pitched a CG giving up just 1 run and 6 hits so the bullpen got to breathe after last night's debacle where we used up everybody, and even had Perez warm up just in case.

After leaving 2 on in the 10th, 2 more in the 11th and the bases loaded in the 12th (the 1st base ump blew a call which eventually cost us a run), Pujols just DESTROYED one of Heilman's pitches for a no doubt 2 run homer and after coming back from 4 runs down and 3 runs down the Mets are still going to lose this game. I want these 5 hours of my life back.
-
I don't think these guys are great wrestlers by any means, but they're pretty over as a babyface tandem and could easily blend in with my other heel tag teams. With my next pick I'll take Cryme Tyme.
-
Shields looks like he has some stitches in his left cheek. What's with EXC letting guys go into the cage with obvious bullseyes?
-
I'm sure they won't give up anything to get him either. The right handers in the Mets bullpen have reverted to their drizzling shits status of late and I'm sure they won't be able to bolster it at all since we have nothing to trade.
-
Brandon Knight gave up a 4 spot to the Cards in the 1st inning and then fell down the stairs trying to get off of the field. No wonder he's almost 33 and making his first major league start. At least we'll probably never see him again.
-
The Red Rooster was picked already.

That home plate ump in the Yanks/Sawx game must have had early dinner plans. I hadn't seen a strike zone that large since the glory days of Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Avery in Atlanta where they had 6 inches on each side of the plate.

Monta Ellis re-signed with GS for 6 yrs/$~65 million.

I thought about taking this guy about 6-8 rounds ago, but I had a feeling he'd be there later on so I've been delaying this selection for quite a while. Even though I think he had a better career as Mr. Águila, I'll be selecting him as Essa Rios because I liked his look better back then and considering the venue I'm likely going to pick he'd be better off without a mask.

You might just have one of the best players at their positions in the entire league at 1B (questionable I know), 2B & SS. Hamels is one of the best young pitchers in baseball. I don't think Lidge has blown a save yet. Where exactly do you want this top talent to play, and how do you plan to get it and still pay the guys you already have?

I'm amazed that the Mets are in 1st place today. The last 60 games are going to be tough, but it seems possible that the NL East could be won with 88 or 89 victories.
