I'll just chime in with this thought, if they had stopped the fight when Thompson was slapping at Kimbo's head late in Round 2 when neither guy was really doing anything, I think that would have been the worst decision of the night. As it was, seeing a man's ear explode seems like a decent enough reason to stop the fight and if Smith said he couldn't see there's no reason to have him continue. Would they have been better off having the two questionable calls earlier on in the night? Of course, but that doesn't mean a guy should take a few extra shots to put him out if the doctor/ref calls it off a bit early. I'm probably in the minority on this but I've seen enough fighters (mainly boxers) take 5 or 10 shots too many to get pissed off when someone takes 2 or 3 too few.

I'll also express a little bit of confusion on the 3 man tag team, especially because I really wanted to take a tag team at this spot and I was leaning towards the Daniels/Ki version of XXX, but I think I have to go with Batista here for value's sake. There aren't a lot of big men that I want available so I'll fill that need now and hope the other team I was thinking about survives 12 picks.

Billy Wagner doesn't pass the "first thought" test. If you ask someone is he a HOFer their first instinct is no because he is the drizzles in the clutch. His numbers may look great but all anyone remembers is how God awful he is when his team needs him most.

I've been pretty happy with the card so far even though the first 2 fights had about 2 1/2 minutes of action in 55 minutes of TV time. Carano lumped that other chick up pretty badly despite being gassed halfway through the first round. If the last two fights are as action packed as the ones we've seen that's about the best Elite XC could have hoped for.

The simple answer is that the addition of Gasol lets Odom take a back seat on offense and for whatever reason he does not seem to accept the idea that he could easily be a 20 & 10 guy if he was more aggressive. The bench has more confidence when they play and Kobe realizes that he doesn't need to shoot 40 times to get W's. They're basically set to succeed for another 4 years or so, when I expect that Kobe's game finally starts to fall off.

I need a coach, so I'll take a guy who was rated as one of the "Top 10 Coaches in NBA history". Bill Fitch Led the '81 Celtics to the NBA title 2x NBA Coach of the Year (1976 & 1980)

I honestly don't mind either team winning but I guess I'd rather see Garnett and Pierce get a ring than Kobe get his 4th and 1st post-Shaq.

Aaron Heilman = piece of shit. That is all.
-
And if he was judged the way Wallace is he'd easily have had twice as many.
-
That's funny because I would have definitely taken Owen if you'd taken Windham and HTQ had still gone with Sapp.
-
A lot of the guys I was looking at for this pick have been chosen already and since he was name dropped in spoiler tags I think I may as well pick Barry Windham here. He's one of those rare guys who at his best was equally great in both singles and tag action and he gives me some much needed flexibility in that regard. I would probably have gone in a different direction if I didn't think he'd be snapped up in the next handful of picks, but he'll be my primary heel/Sting foil.
-
He wouldn't have, since that was who I was hoping to take 2 picks later. I'm sure HTQ would have gone in a different direction so this was the only person I had to worry about which really sucks.

Anyone who has watched the NBA for a while knows that getting T'ed up isn't about what gets said, it's about who says it. 'Sheed is the new Dennis Rodman. Back in his day Jordan had the filthiest mouth and most demonstrative reactions and hardly ever got called for a technical. These days Kobe, Nash, LeBron and guys of that stature can pretty much call the ref's mother a cunt and keep on walking but if 'Sheed slaps his hands together or takes his headband off he's going to get a technical called.
-
I think that all but guarantees us Lakers/Celtics.

The refs would rather swallow the whistle and kill a team that deserves a call than make the correct call and potentially kill the team that commits the foul. It's just part of how the referees are trained.
-
After losing out on basically every guy I had targetted for this pick, I'm going to take a guy who is worthy of a first rounder if you take away that last 24-48 hours of his life. Since we're not really concerning ourselves with character I'm gonna be the one who ends the suspense and takes Chris Benoit. Era wise I'll go with the period from his program with Angle until the end of his WHC run.
-
The NBA refs will not give you that call at the end of the game unless you're a superstar which is why I can't stand the officiating.

That was hilarious. As for Zen he's pretty good at everything I've seen him do. My biggest gripe with this season is that due to the increased number of gladiators, they end up using some of them in half of the events one week and then not at all the next.

I'm happy with this guy in the 10th round. Dan Issel NBA Hall of Fame (1993) 1x NBA All-Star (1977) 1970-71 ABA Rookie of the Year 1971-72 ABA All-Star Game MVP 5x All-ABA Selection (First Team in 1972) 6x ABA All-Star (1971-1976) Was the # 2 scorer in the history of the ABA and is 7th all-time on the combined list with 27,482 points.

Crush continues to murder these chicks.

It's only 2-1, and the Spurs need to bring this level to every game for the rest of the series if they want to win it.

I need a bit of clarification here, but if we select a tag team are we allowed to have them wrestle as singles competitors as well? It ultimately doesn't matter on this one pick since I'm sticking with it either way. I know guys who were thrown together can't be a tag team but couldn't figure out if that applies in reverse and want to know for future picks. Anyway without further ado, for the benefit of those with flash photography I select the team of Edge & Christian.

I think this is a steal in the 9th round. Dolph Schayes NBA Hall of Fame (1973) 12x All-NBA Selection (6x on the First Team) 12x NBA All-Star (1951-1962) NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team (1996) Although I'm not using him as a coach, he was also NBA Coach of the Year (1966) Did not miss a single game from February 17, 1952 until December 26, 1961 (a streak of 706 games) 19,249 points 11,256 rebounds

Chambers was a nice pick. Since I had 4 finals in a span of about 72 hours I forgot that I had picked Yao already and that Nixon was my rebound pick where I have two selections in 12 picks instead of 28. If I hadn't lost track of that I would have chosen him instead of Nixon in the last round.

When he decided to stop hustling regularly and for the more than occasional bad baserunning play, you know like getting picked off of 2nd base with no outs in extra innings.
