i know. so my statement lies just in much that music this year hasn't been all that great as rap has had a few gems. by no means is it 1996.
-
noteworthy rap albums this year? i guess i need to support my argument e40 - my ghetto report card t.i. - king ghostface - fishscale rick ross - port of miami rhymefest - blue collar outkast - idlewild cam'rom - killa season j dilla - donuts (not really rap, i guess) ->the shining wasn't too bad, either spankrock - yoyoyoyoyo lupe fiasco - food & liquor all of these have been noteworthy to me. some on different levels. and its not as much me saying this has been a booming year from rap, just saying that there have been several albums that have surpassed anything rock, pop, ect have produced this year.

another great great album from this year. some really fun tracks. including build me up (buttercup) sang by the late GREAT odb. if you're thinking cold blooded, this is way way better. dude even samples the strokes. weird. brand new with kanye is remarkable, too. all around, its great. don't think about him being a "battle mc". this is just a rapper like any other rapper. leave the gimmicks out of it. it usually clouds the work, and some fols perception of it.

i can't believe i was called an insecure dick. like really, isn't that already COMPLETELY obvious?

mix be damned, the song is meant to be dirty. on the opening guitar riff alone, the song is already more successful tha tupelo's. admittedly i'm not too too fussy when it comes to particular mixes (remixes) of albums, so that aspect of the argument never struck me at all. the tupelo version reminds me of the tongue in cheek covers phish used to do. it doesn't represent them at all. in fact, when i think of that song, i ONLY think of iggy. i couldn't imagine any other artist slithering across the stage yelping the chorus. even watching reunion shows of the stooges on dvd or live albums, when i hear that opening riff i get the little goosebumps. its a matter of preference, i don't think i could definitivly say either one is better, but for this guy, stooges all the way.

ill take my ban if leena talks to me for 5 minutes. heck, even 1 pm.
-
will you make leena talk to me? if so...yay.
-
kottonmouth kings are even worse than onyx & bone thugs. seriously. all of you just leave. you're all so awful.
-
the solution? just start banning people for being tards. who needs a reason. its funner this way. it'll be like communist russia. if stalin believed anyone was a subversive influence, he had them killed. he didn't need any evidence. it was that person's fault for not towing the party line. do that here. and let me be stalin.

no, slayer doesn't like me.
-
i know. i need to build my self-confidence on someone, though. he makes me feel better about myself.

no! retire from the music folder & stay here. thats what we want.

admittedly i've never studied the record sales of bone thugs. but to most sensible & discernable music listeners would consider eazy's output after nwa to be minimal. even if it he did create the chart top, record smashing, rap hit group bone thugs & harmony! in the mainstream, and even to critical acclaim, dre & cube had a much more prosperous career after leaving eazy's ass. in fact, eazy became the punch line for many jokes while dre & cube made tons fo cash off of white boys trying to be gangsta. westside connection, while wildly popular in my high school as well, has no held up compared to nwa's work. anyone with ANY sense of musical history, heck musical aptitude, knows that cube was born & bred from nwa. not the westside connection. its quite comical that you believe you opinion on rap is more credible simply because you are black, and grew up in a "hood". but to me, anyone who has the opinion that bone thugs & onyx meant anything to rap music doesn't mean shit to me. spew out the record sales or what you gangbangin' friends think, those groups are/were awful. fact.
-
no. ice cube made his name in nwa & went solo. dre made his name in nwa & dropped it to go to death row. eazy was left with nwa to rot. ice cube & dre prospered in nwa, eazy did not. eazy started as nwa's leader, but by the end he was a mere pawn in the game. everything cube & dre became was because of their roles in nwa. and more people know of cube from westside connection than nwa? come on. whats next? we're going to start talking about the genius behind onyz & biohazard's musical union? you're musical prowess actually frightens me.

getting rid of the folder would make the other 'tards go somewhere else. i vote to can it. i want it dead. to the extreme.
