  3. bluegrass from kotz? country from redbaron? what is this board coming to?
  4. i'ms surprised at troy smiths fall. i thought 3rd round, tops.
  5. summer is time for tons of rap music. and 80's mindless pop songs.
  6. the pats can have moss. the raiders got both josh mccown and mike williams for a 4th rounder. i love it. mccown will start this year, and hopefully williams can finally get this shit together. if so, look out. raiders, baby.
  7. lindy ruff is slowly yet SURELY inching closer to my most hated man in hockey. what a petulent child. screaming after winning. and being in the WRONG in regards to what he was arguing about. what a pathetic excuse for a professional. great role model for your kids. and why don't you throw some more shit in the stands at your own fans during your tirade, lindy. imagine being one of his kids?
  8. detroit is snake-bitten. they took it to the flames for 5 periods & only got two goals. they took it (well, not really) to the sharks & got no goals. detroit outshot & totally out-chanced the sharks. the sharks had NO scoring opportunities after they scored but they dictated the pace. they sat back, which really, was kind of a mistake in a sense because all it would have taken would have been an unlucky bounce & detroit was back in the game. in retrospect its easy to say the sharks played the perfect game, but i think they could have done more damage. there was a point in the first period where the sharks looked absolutely dominant. but it lasted about 5 minutes. did they chose to stop after scoring two goals? or did detroit play a lot better? i'm not sure. as a red wings fan, i'm scared. its as though three of the best teams (buffalo, anaheim, and san jose) decided to show their dominance. the only reason why this was respectable is because i think detroit is equally good as those teams. both the devils & sens are a league below. and i am confident in the devils, still. totally.
  9. No. And I'm very excited about Ra. Johnson. If he can return to previous hoss status, I see the D-Backs easily winning the West. Unless the Dodgers get like a couple good hitters via trades. haha. good one. the dodgers are going to finish with the best record in the n.l.
  10. If the Ducks do not have enough offensive power to break Luongo, how do the Nucks break Neidermayer and Pronger? Vancouver does not have the goons that can keep Anaheim in check. The Ducks will be taking runs and causing havoc all series. I think sweep because Anaheim already played the best defensive team in the league and beat them. It will be nothing they haven't seen. nah nah first: backstrom isn't luongo. the wild aren't the best defensive team. second: neidermayer & pronger don't play all game, luongo does. if the ducks are taking runs & gooning it up, they'll spend a lot of time in the box, which sorta negates the defenseman argument.
  11. i almost dare pick the canucks over the ducks in 5 or 6 games. listen, anaheim is tougher than nails defensively, but i don't think they've got enough offensive power to break luongo. if these stay low scoring games, i can easily see the canucks having an easier time here. with the sharks, i can see why people might favor them. but people, detroit is 4 lines deep without a single weakness. their defense is superb. tons of experience & make limited mistakes. cap that off with hasek. i can't see how anyone would go against these guys at all right now.
  12. new york rangers in 7 (changed my mind) new jersey devils in 5 detroit red wings in 6 vancouver canucks in 7 edit: do you people really think san jose is better than detroit? i understand picking the sharks, but to say they're better seems silly. buffalo is better than the rangers, i just see this as a tough match-up for them.
  13. holla. i was honestly expecting the flames to take this one. so i am pleasantly surprised.
  14. i expect better out of rhett. that was weak. notice how he stuck his head up to see where the puck was. what a guy.
  15. its like its an nhl vs. ahl team. detroit is constantly on a 5-4 advantage. dominant. but the flames seem to have something on their side.
  16. hasek saved it & it deflected up.
  17. fuck these refs are trying to kill the wings honestly blood is obvious. but that was hooking? come on. its overtime.
  18. uh oh wings are toasted...perhaps.
  19. i saw blood on the slow motion replay 4 min penalty? ouch. wings gotta score here or they're toast. total momentum killer.
  20. zyuzin? thats ballsy.
  21. that is a horrible call during regulation, atrocious in overtime. embarrassing call.
  22. man the wings are just dominant. but whenever the flames get the puck in the wings zone (which is roughly every 7 minutes or so) they scare the shit out of me. kiprusoff has been their star. best goaltending performance in the playoffs. the flames would have been out in 4. my picks for the ot goals are bertuzzi and conroy
  23. This will come as a complete shock to everyone, but I see it the other way. I think the Devils just don't have enough scoring punch to get past Ottawa. Brodeur is going to need to win this series for the Devils. He's certainly capable of doing it, but I didn't see him play at that level against Tampa Bay. Besides, no one wants to see the Devils in the conference finals again. Well, no one except Barron, that is. ya. a biased sens fan. listen. on paper the sens do have 3 players with better numbers than anyone on the devils. but i think they're spread pretty thin after that. also, sugar ray emery isn't on brodeur's level. not by a long shot. and here's something to frighten you more. the top 3 of the lightning are infinitly better than the top 3 of the senators. and they weathered the storm. brodeur shook the rust off by game 3. in fact, i'd say he is now only hitting his stride. the only reason why the lightning stayed with the devils this long is because of their experience. they won a cup a few years ago. the sens don't have that character. they are going to get drawn into a chess match & lose their cool. i'll be flat out shocked if the sens do anything of consequence in this series. they may win a game or two, but thats stretching it. and i'm with leena. i do expect the sabres to win their series. but, if we're judging this by the last series, the rangers would steamroll them. they need to pick up their game. and as far as the rangers go, i'm not convinced that it wasn't "these rangers are dominant" as much as "how bad are the thrashers". should be interesting. but i do see a devils/sabres eastern final. it sorta seemed pre-destined from the beginning, actually. but let it be known, i'm totally cheering for the rangers.
  24. luongo is a better goalie, but turco is playing crazy awesome. i can't see the canucks winning this. they just aren't deep enough offensively. the only reason i want the canucks in is to potentially see a wings/canucks series in the divisional final. imagine the reaction bertuzzi would get? off the charts. but i want dallas to win mostly because the wings would have an easier time with the stars than the sharks. the sharks are scary. and i am loving the hell out of the match-ups in the east. rangers/sabres is going to be a shoot out. either on of them can choke. or prosper. the senators/devils is going to be tight. though i just don't see the sens having enough to beat the devils. this isn't a team of 19 year olds they can push around. if the sens do make it out of this series, they're going to the finals. no question. and tonight, i see the flames bowing out. all of their gooning it up won't mean anything. zetterberg will score two more goals, including the game winner.
  25. I knew we shouldn't have traded Betemit. betemit is as much of a non-factor as aybar so far this year.
