    Wii

Definately let us know how it is... I know my personal gods Adam and Morgan from Xplay gave it a pretty positive review.

I could have swore Nintendo wanted to make a add-on dvd playback thing sometime in the future. Japan's getting a Wii 2.0 as it were, with DVD playback. No confirmed word that it will reach the states.

I thought that feature was pretty wicked cool, but unfortunately the only games I ever played that allowed for custom soundtrack were RAW and RAW 2. Bleh.

    I'm proud of you sir.

That's incorrect. The stores are not driving up the prices, the second hand market is. If a store wants to save some of their systems till the middle of the week, they will and can.

Your going to have to explain that custom soundtrack thing because when I think custom soundtrack, I think of being able to play my own music that I have ripped to something and as far as I know, you can't save your own music to the Wii....or can you? If you have MP3's saved on your SD card, Excite Truck and the Photo Channel can play those songs.

It's still more of a opinion rather than fact. I really just see the comment as a form of damage control. I'm not one of these people thinking the Wii is going to be the stake through Sony's heart, but I'm sure they are worried about the Wii. Evidence? Their new plans for a Point and Motion sensitive controller. As long as the games continue to use the controller in innovative or entertaining ways, I don't see the Wii ever losing it's fun factor.

    Cell Phone Games

I have currently Tetris, Bonk's Return, Military Madness, and World Poker Tournament. In the past I've had Castlevania, Pac Man, and a slew of others. The 3D games that Verizon offers intrigues me.

    Obscure Videogames

Very good game but the Arcade is waaaaay better. Metal Marines for either the PC or SNES gets my vote.

Yeah, my Best Buy had only one of those 60 dollar Uber cables left when I got my el cheapo ones. And since I'm a complete toolbox now, I picked up some of those neoprene controller gloves. They add a little "bulk" to the Wiimote and definately make it easier to grip. If you're having some gripping issues, might want to consider picking one up. The only downside is the price for them, which is between 9.99 to 14.99 depending where you buy it.

Target opens at 8am everyday unless you have that Random SuperTarget that is open 24/7. Lushus, I'd say get in line at 4am or 5:30 at the latest. It's only 4 hours and it should solidify your chance for the Wii. Just bring either a portable DVD player or a DS and you should be fine. I do wish everyone luck that really wants one. Good Hunting.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Anyone who has a DS must get the New Castlevania Portait of Ruin. Best Buy had a stack of 'em out there yesterday breaking the streetdate. Great follow up to Castlevania: DS and Bloodlines (Genesis).

Target will be recieving their 3rd and FINAL guaranteed shipments the week of the 17th. And I snagged a set of Component Cables today at Best Buy for 24.99. Zelda and Wii Sports look fantastic!

They do go fast. When they arrived UPS, I snagged one for me and another coworker snagged two for her system. Also just for you cats to know, Wii systems never ever come UPS. Accessories and Games yes... Systems no. However PS3's have been arriving through UPS/DHL now.

Try your local Targets, all Target stores have recieved their second shipment of Wiimotes this week. Lushus, Yeah it is kinda ridiculous, but to expect a HOT christmas item to be readily availible is also kinda ridiculous. And work was probably a poor choice of words.

Yeah it sucks that people want something so bad that they are willing to *gasp* work for it. Have fun when you get yours after X-mas.

Actually I think the "gimmicky control scheme" is what will give the Wii legs. Most people who are buying the Wii and enjoying it don't give two shits about graphics or processing horse power. They want to have fun. I know of a few dozen people that haven't owned a console since the 8bit/16bit era that have plunked down and bought a Wii. Will the Wii be number 1? Prolly not. But will it be the second console of choice? Most likely.

By the way if you cats start seeing a ton of movie character Mii's parading across your screen... That's probably my fault.
