Just got home from seeing this new found "Classic". I loved it. If there was anything that could bring about a future like in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, it's this movie. I'm going again tomorrow. And shame on everyone who doesn't pay to see it.

DreamGirls vs Rocky Balboa

That I may be able to buy, but Scarface is still a bad movie. -
DreamGirls vs Rocky Balboa

Explain to me how in the blue hell Scarface is inspirational? All I saw was a wanna be drug lords rise and fall. Hardly inspirational stuff unless your business is being a thug/drug dealer. That's like saying Adolf Hitlers rise to power was inspirational... -
MCD will not be in the movie. They couldn't come to terms with money.

I'm waiting for the Eddie Griffen or Chris Rock annoucement. Megatron will most definately end up being Frank Welker (Played the Original), and now that I think about it, You could have Peter Cullen also reprise his role as Iron Hide for the movie as well.
-
Jon Voight plays the Secretary of Defense IIRC. Movie has a solid B and C level cast, coupled with Peter Cullen coming back to play Optimus, It has a chance to be good cast wise. Just hope the writing is good.

Could be a black sheep due to the fact that it's only a book series, and most people don't consider the books as cannon. Hell the only thing worse than Star Wars Book "Cannon" is Trek Book "Cannon". I don't get all the Enterprise and Nemesis hate. Sure DS9 set the bar high, but it was a completely different way of Story Telling in the Trek universe with continuing story arcs more like a Soap Opera, instead of self contained episodic story telling found in Voyager, TOS, Enterprise and TNG. It was new and fresh. Enterprise at least had interesting characters and it was fun visiting certain aspecs of the Trek Mythos for the "first" time. Voyager was completely a waste of time up until it's finale, which was decent despite the mass extermination of the Borg Race. And this new movie has a good chance of equally blowing goats or being better than it has any right to be. Abrams Superman treatment was nothing more than a rape of the IP and the character. I have an open mind about this movie, I just don't want it to be over Hollywood-ized. What they should tell are the stories between TMP and TOS.

The Return of Optimus Prime...sorta
Blue Bacchus replied to AboveAverage484's topic in Television & Film
Hey I love that video! -
I think they couldn't get the rights to use it for the movie, IIRC. VW doesn't want their products to be used as a "Weapon of War" either in fiction or the real world. Someone is a little touchy over their cooperation with a certain organization during the 30's and 40's. And no that footage is fake dubQ

Add in the rumors of Matt Damon playing Kirk... Who ever they get to play Spock will either sell or sink this project.
-
Yep that's Prime! I like it. It'll sell toys, which is the main purpose of this movie.
-
Explain to me why that's racist?

I never got into the Marvel stuff but I did enjoy the first run of Devil's Due stuff.

I believe Golobulus wanted Cobra Commander to weaken the world for Cobra La's eventual world take over bid. Either way, it's weak story telling.

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th
Blue Bacchus replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I guess I'm the only one who enjoyed the show then. -
The Intro to the GI JOE Movie, at least the US intro, kicks all levels of ass! But the rest of it, is MST3K material, Except Sgt. Slaughter's scenes... "This is for Duke!" GI JOE extreme is bad but it supposedly fits into the Sunbow/DiC Continuitity.

Yeah BL has it right. While the movie already had a bloated roster, the only I thing still wish they had done was a Combiner showdown at the Battle of Autbobot city. And for those who saw the Movie in the theater, did you cry when Prime died? I know I didnt, but I did cry when Starscream died.

Here's Best Buys Return Policy...

Pirates 3, Fantastic Four 2, Wolverine (Supposedly), and MAYBE Batman 2.
-
But you thought Batman Begins was better, even though they totally betrayed Batman's character by Batman not helping R'as off the train? R'as would have been too dangerous to leave alive anyway.
-
But Ironhide went out like a champ unlike Brawn. "Such Heroic Nonsense..."

You mean explain what it is? Or why the writers left it out? If it's the former rather than the latter, then the Matrix is basically the Transformers Heaven contained in a crystaline construct. It holds all the sparks (Souls) of all Transformers and allows the Autobot Leader who wields the Matrix to access it for knowledge and advice. One could argue that the reason Optimus Prime in the G1 cartoon was so bad ass, was because he had all this knowledge at his fingertips. So when Hot Rod unleashes the Matrix on Unicron, it's really all those who have come before that Destroy Unicron. Nevermind that it was Primus, Unicron's Arch Nemesis, who gave Transformers their Sparks in the first place. If it was the latter, then I have no Idea And it really doesn't matter about which Cyclonus is the real one, since people still deabte to this day if Brawn died or not.
-
In defense of Sunbow and it's writers, Unicron was unheard of to Transformers prior to him showing up and reformating Megatron. Of course thats if you follow the G1 cartoon continuity. In the G1 comic continuity, he is the Chaos Bringer, their God of Death. So basically you don't need the mention of the Matrix (although it helps) or Unicron in Seasons 1 or 2.

I believe (Read: Too Lazy to Boot up the DVD) he said that they would be easier to control.

Soundwave's proposed changes only involve . Not a big deal to me, since it's kinda hard to imagine seeing it work on the big screen. Same reason they dumped the Yellow Spandex in the X-Men movies or Peter making his web shooters. Some things have to be adapted for the screen. As for the other changes they're making for other characters, such as , I dig it because it adds more depth than the 30 minute toy ad ever did. And you haven't seen Batman Begins? Wow, Even I love the DCAU stuff too but that movie was too good to miss.
