  1. I'm interested to see who will be working the upcoming GCW shows. From the sound of things, GCW has parted ways with not only Dingo, but the LWA crew as well(Nick Tyson, Gary Jay, Pierre Abernathy, Evan Petrie/Gelistico, Dorian Victor). I have some pics up from recent indy shows, just to get the cheap plug in... -PB http://www.tnaw.com/
  2. Gateway Championship Wrestling is scheduled to make its return next month with a show on Friday 4/13 in Overland and Saturday 4/14 in Mt. Vernon. During GCW's absence, a couple of other promotions have been making waves in the area. The Lethal Wrestling Alliance has been around a while and several wrestlers work for them that used to work for GCW. Alex Shelley wrestled at last night's LWA show in Fairview Heights in a great match with Nick Tyson...heck, it was a strong show all around and I was fortunate to be in attendance. Another new promotion is called FIST(Future Independent STars of Wrestling) and it runs primarily in the Metro East area. A lot of promotions seem to prefer running in Illinois instead of dealing with the excessive regulations and massive fees associated with the Missouri State Athletic Commission. GCW: http://www.gatewaywrestling.com/ LWA: http://www.lwawrestling.com/ FIST: No official site yet but their message board is: http://fistwrestling.proboards74.com/
  3. I swear I've seen someone at one of my STL-area indy shows do a Canadian Destroyer-style DDT...I forget who it was though. -PB
  4. If he hasn't been in character over the last few weeks, Kurt's current spate of crash'n'burn has been hilarious to bear witness to. Why do you hate America^H^H^HTNA so much? (j/k) -PB
  5. Here's the full lineup for Overland: -Cameron Cage vs. Dingo for the Heavyweight Title -Sean Vincent & Rebecca Raze vs. The European Union for the Tag Team Titles -Kory Twist vs. Steven Kennedy -Trent Stone vs. Nick Tyson -Bryan Monterro vs. Jimmy Charisma -The Bumrush Brothers vs. Cabal & Melvin Talent -Gary Jay vs. Dorian Victor -K.C. Karrington vs. Super Castaldi Early lineup for Mt. Vernon: -Jackal vs. Rebecca Raze - Light Heavyweight Title -Shorty Biggs vs. Dice -Trent Stone vs. Steven Kennedy -Sean Vincent vs. Evan Petrie -Bryan Monterro vs. Jimmy Charisma -K.C. Karrington vs. Dorian Victor Early lineup for East Prairie: -Fatal Four-Way Main Event for a title shot at the next East Prairie show...participants will be determined by four qualifying matches. The first three are: -OuTtKaSt vs. Trent Stone -Shorty Biggs vs. Nick Tyson -Bryan Monterro vs. Melvin Talent -Jackal vs. K.C. Karrington - Light Heavyweight Title -Sean Vincent & Rebecca Raze vs. The European Union - Tag Team Titles (If the Euros win in Overland, this will be a tag title rematch for Vincent & Raze.) -Gary Jay vs. Dorian Victor
  6. You'd probably need to e-mail Ben or Evil Jim or someone else in management about that... Here's Steven Kennedy telling everyone "remember, only you can prevent Michael Strider"...
  7. GCW Mehlville Results Gary Jay defeated Dorian Victor with the Shadows Over Hell-style elbowdrop off the top. Victor made a good accounting for himself, targeting the back of Gary Jay. However, Gary went aerial en route to victory. Cabal beat Super Castaldi with the cobra clutch slam. After the match, Sadie Blaze came out holding a teddy bear, which for some reason caused Cabal to go bonkers and brutally assault Castaldi. Bryan Monterro tried to make the save, but DNS attacked him with the briefcase. Cabal left with Sadie and company...not sure what's up with that, but Blaze may have some new muscle on his side. Evan Petrie defeated Sean Vincent with a rolling reverse cradle while holding the ropes and Pierre Abernathy's hands from the outside. The Euros reportedly attacked Rebecca Raze before the show and Vincent had challenged either of them to a singles match for the night. After the match, Vincent issued the challenge for a tag title match in Overland. The Bumrush Brothers beat D.N.S.(w/ Sadie); the referee was tied up with Sadie and Monterro came out for some payback, hitting Jimmy Charisma with the briefcase. Shorty and KaSt hit a double-team Final Cut and KaSt got the pin. Michael Strider & Mason Hunter defeated Steven Kennedy & K.C. Karrington(w/ Tiffany LaFane)...this was the result of an open challenge issued by the self-proclaimed "Ego Express". Chops were plentiful...if the cops need any fingerprints of Strider, they can probably get them off Kennedy's back. Mason pinned Karrington after an Oklahoma Stampede, but Strider and Hunter weren't done as they continued to dish out punishment after the match(and the referee took a chop too). Cameron Cage(w/ Sindy) defeated Trent Stone to retain the Heavyweight Title. Cage worked on Stone's arm for most of the matchup, but Stone made the comeback, even surviving the use of a chain. Stone hit the spear and the Stone Crush, but Sindy distracted the ref from seeing a sure pinfall. As Stone confronted Sindy, Cage caught him from behind and used the chain to choke out Stone during a sleeperhold, leading to the "submission". Dingo beat Kory Twist in the #1 contenders' match. The two exchanged near-falls toward the end and countered each other's signature moves, but Dingo was finally able to hit the Dingo Driver for the victory. After the match, Cage and Sindy made an appearance along with D.N.S., Sadie, and Cabal...the group beat down Dingo and Twist, but the fan favorite side of the locker room emptied to make the save and Big Bad Ben scared off Sadie. Coming up on Friday in Overland... GCW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Cameron Cage© vs. Dingo GCW TAG TEAM TITLES Sean Vincent & Rebecca Raze© vs. The European Union (Pierre Abernathy & Evan Petrie) Kory Twist vs. Spoiled Steven Kennedy Bryan Monterro vs. Jimmy Charisma Gary Jay vs. "Technical Messiah" Nick Tyson -PB http://www.gatewaywrestling.com/ http://www.tnaw.com/
  8. http://www.youtube.com/gatewaywrestling GCW has its own corner of Youtube now...the first match posted is Delirious vs. Dingo from March of this year. -PB
  9. GCW has arrived on Youtube...a match from March between Dingo and Delirious has been posted: http://www.youtube.com/gatewaywrestling Mehlville show this Saturday! -PB

  11. Awsm, any of the Dingo matches going to be available on DVD? Once they're available, you can probably order them at http://www.nwacentralstates.com/ Wouldn't surprise me to see GCW sell a few of them at their live events...when Strider's booked, he sometimes brings NWA:CS videos with him for the merchandise table. -PB
  12. GCW's been on a break, but a GCW competitor has picked up a couple of huge wins in Kansas-based NWA Central States. In early June, Dingo picked up a win over ROH competitor Colt Cabana. Last night, Dingo had a dream match as he went one-on-one with A.J. Styles. Styles appeared to have the victory with the Styles Clash, but the 20-minute time limit expired. The fans and wrestlers both wanted five more minutes and it was granted to them. A series of pinfall reversals ended in Dingo scoring the huge upset win over the former NWA World Champion! -PB
  13. Unfortunately GCW's been off TV for quite a while now...I've heard they're working on bringing the TV show back, but I'm not sure when or on what channel. -PB
  14. Unfortunately the August shows are off due to some licensing issues with the state. The recent LWA show lost about half its scheduled wrestlers for the same reason. -PB
  15. Remember when the newly-gimmicked Hurricane beat Hardy for the European Title?
  16. Some pretty big matches coming up for current and former GCW folks in August... In IWA-MS on Saturday 8/12, Delirious will be going one-on-one with Low-Ki. BAHK BAHK BAHK DON'TKICKMEINTHEHEAD BAHKBAHK BAHK... In NWA Central States on Saturday 8/26, Dingo will be facing A.J. Styles. Most tremendous.
  17. Two shows for August have been posted on the GCW website: Friday 8/18 in Mehlville Friday 8/25 in Overland
  18. I think they're only selling DVDs now...best thing I could suggest is drop an e-mail to the promoter and request a particular old show. As you saw, Jynx returned at the Mehlville show. I've seen Rat Boy attending the shows but I don't know if he's coming back to wrestling or not.
  19. Nowhere that I know of...I imagine when he does return to wrestling, it'll be in GCW.
  20. I know someone on the GCW message board said that GCW was planning on doing another show in East Prairie but I forget when...ugh.
  21. Credit to Slingshot Suplex for the Cape results: Jackal retained against KC Karrington Bryan Monterro destroyed Castaldi Dingo defeated Steven Kennedy in a chair match ....really good match. Dingo delivered a Dingo Driver standing on 2 chairs and sent SSK onto one of them. Michael Strider beat Shorty Biggs in a tables match by shoving Shorty off the turnbuckles through a table as Biggs was trying to superplex Strider. Cameron Cage retained against Kory Twist in a ladder match. Twist was climbing the ladder when DNS attacked him, allowing Cage to grab the belt. Either this or Dingo/ Kennedy were the MOTN in my opinion. Sean Vincent and Rebecca Raze retained the tag titles vs DNS Cameron Cage retained the GCW title against Strider and Dingo when Strider suplexed Dingo from the inside to the outside. Both went through a table leaving Cage plenty of time to climb the ladder. ----- Friday June 30th 2006 VFW Hall 6327 Lemay Ferry Rd. Mehlville, MO. Doors open at 7 PM Belltime at 8 PM Tickets $8 in advance, $10 at the door DOG COLLAR MATCH! Dingo vs. Michael Strider LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Jackal© vs. Steven Kennedy Rebecca Raze vs. MsChif Shorty Biggs & OuTtKaSt vs. Nick Tyson & Michael Serious
  22. It was kinda short and one-sided, but yes. They wrestled again at the ROH show in Chicago tonight, I imagine that one was a bit more competitive.
  23. They were on a few of the Sunday PPVs but only in stuff like X schmozz matches... Matt was in the X-Division gauntlet/Rumble thingie at the first Victory Road PPV, and I think Delirious was in a six-way X match at...(checks)...last year's Slammiversary. I think they were each on Impact once(Matt in a four-way X match, Delirious in a one-on-one match with Samoa Joe). GCW results from tonight: Jackal d. K.C. Karrington(w/ Tiffany LaFane) with a powerbomb to retain the Light Heavyweight Title. The Submission Wrestling Assault Team(SWAT Team...or SWATeam?...anyways, Nick Tyson & Michael Serious) d. Cabal & Gary Jay when Serious pinned Gary after a German suplex/lariat combo. Dingo d. Melvin Talent(w/ Jimmy Charisma); finish was Dingo doing a tornado DDT motion and kicking Charisma off the apron, but landing on his feet and executing the Dingo Driver on Talent. Charisma(w/ Talent) d. Kevin X after a briefcase shot while Melvin distracted the ref; after the match, Kevin X announced that he's getting married but will be leaving GCW because of it. The locker room emptied to wish him well and send him off. Kory Twist d. Bryan Monterro with the Fate Factor and Leap Of Faith. The two shook hands post-match and D.N.S. got on Monterro's case afterwards. Monterro took offense and D.N.S. beat him down, but Twist came back in for the save. The European Union(Pierre Abernathy & Evan Petrie) d. Shorty Biggs & OuTtKaSt when Petrie low-blowed Shorty to set up the Culture Shock(modified Russian legsweep) by Pierre for the pin. Heavyweight Champion Cameron Cage retained against Sean Vincent in a best-of-three-falls match. Vincent won the first fall with a cross-body off the top; Cage won the second fall with a small package. In the third fall, referee Keith Smith was knocked down and Cage tried to bring the belt into play, but Vincent got it and hit Cage with it...for a two-count. Keith was knocked down again and Vincent again leveled Cage with the belt, covering but not getting a count. Vincent hit the Sexy Elbow and Patrick Smalls ran in to count three...Vincent was seemingly the new champion, but Keith apparently saw Vincent use the belt after all. Keith, as the assigned official for the match, called it as a DQ win for Cage in the third fall. Odd night; no Sadie Blaze or Sindy at all, plus the Watchmen group was broken up with the apparent face turn for Monterro. Attendance sucked rocks, but them's the breaks when you run in the summertime.
  24. Whoops, no MsChif in Overland...she got a booking in the San Francisco area for this weekend. She'll be at Mehlville though.
  25. Q'N'D results from Mt. Vernon last weekend: -Evan Petrie d. Super Castaldi. -Gary Jay d. Pierre Abernathy. -Michael Serious d. Trent Stone after using a chair. -Sean Vincent & Rebecca Raze d. Steven Kennedy & K.C. Karrington to retain the Tag Team Titles. -Jackal d. MsChif to retain the Light Heavyweight Title. -OuTtKaSt won a three-way fans-bring-the-weapons match involving Big Bad Ben and Dice. -Kory Twist, Dingo, Chaz Wesson, and Shorty Biggs won an elimination tag match against Cameron Cage, D.N.S., and Bryan Monterro; Chaz pinned Cage to emerge as the sole survivor. Overland and Cape this weekend, yay.
