Wizardry 8 is a direct follow up to 7 story wise, and was in fact quite entertaining as well (could even import your party from 7). I'm still pissed my ex-gf broke one of the cd's for my copy.

Might and Magic's card game was really really fun too.

Ultima IV is good, Ultima VI parts 1 and 2 are the best in that series, imho. And are in fact truly amazing, although the amount of detail in those games can be very difficult for someone to approach (But it's cool you can just go and bake some bread whenever you want) Ultima Underworld is also great, and much easier to pick up and play. Anachronox is an awesome PC RPG that didn't get nearly enough pub for how much FUN it was. Good battle system too imho, though it had its' flaws. Septerra Core was a fun PC game that might have done better on a console, it was really a console rpg on the pc, which was weird. Kahran: There is no shame in installing X-Com and playing...and you won't regret it, the game is like fine wine, changing in flavor as it ages but only for the better.

Old School RPG's are good. Might and Magic VII is one of the hardest games ever. Does that count as old school? Might and Magic in general is truly old school. VI was fun, and playable, and not as hard as VII. VIII was fgun but kinda quirky and REALLY EASY (As far as M&M games go, most people not familiar with the series wouldn't agree) M&M IX was a travesty. I even finished that game too. It's funny beause my very first rpg's were console (DW 4 still has a special place in my heart) but in the end old school PC rpgs are just way more sophisticated and engaging.

FF VIII is the best Final fantasy of the 7-XI era. But it's not better than 4 or 6. If you like story and cinematic games, I highly reccommend Indigo Prophecy. That's a truly amazing game, though it is solely an adventure game, not rpg as it has no character/stat building type elements to it.

That's just fanboyism at it's peak. I'm a Romance of the Three Kingdoms fanboy, but you don't see me trying to claim RoTK4:WoF is better than Starcraft. i may personally enjoy one more than the other, but I know which one is the better strategy game. FFVII being better than Planescape: Torment?!? Torment has the best story and dialogue of any RPG ever made, it's truly an amazing experience, and the gameplay is so interwoven throughout the story that it's a real treat to play. FF VII is better than System Shock 2?!?!? That's just downright ignorant.

Maybe Freddy should go do some situps in TO's driveway, that might help him out ;p

I hate discussions about FF7. It's so passe. The game looks awful now. The gameplay really isn't good. It's bad. It's terrible. This isn't Valkyrie Profile or Persona here, there was nothing groundbreaking or engaging about the turn based gameplay system. The story started off well and trailed off almost immediately. VIII's story was better by far, and that's one of the most ripped on FF's ever. There's nothing to reccommend FF7 at this point in time OTHER than as an influence to later games. The game itself has no redeeming qualities. Man do I hate all the hype that stupid game still gets. I actually like it less and less the more I hear about it. It's a below average game with an above average "Oh I remember that game" score. People try to make it a classic but it's NOT a classic. it's not Street Fighter II, Legend of zelda, Mario Brothers, Halo, GTA, The Simsor any other defining game. It caused a quick north american rpg boom...that quickly died out as the FPS/GTA era began with the next gen xbox/ps2/gcube systems. RPG's are a niche market in the states, and that's really how it's gonna be. And greatest game EVER? it's not even the greatest RPG ever. Planescape: Torment Fallout/Fallout 2 are 1/2 the best rpg's ever made. And as for greatest game. X-Com: UFO Defense. System Shock 2 anyone ever play those games here? I barely play pc games anymore, but I've played the classics, and those games stand the test of time. Just 6 months ago I was playing a new game of X-Com and it still scared me out of my mind when an alien came out of nowhere to blow me up at 1 in the morning. System Shock 2 IS the survival horror AND FPS/RPG hybrid genre all rolled into one crazy AI scifi shell. The more I think about it the more I have to say it's the best game ever made.

Oh, I know the Players Union files for everything, regardless of the outcome, I just find the idea of them appealing ridiculous. From what I read the Eagles are suspending him for 4 games (without pay) and then deactivating him for the rest of the season. Teams can only suspend without pay for 4 games in a season. Hence the separate statements "TO is suspended for 4 games AND will not be back with the team this season." EDIT: and i bet the grievance has to do with the suspension/money lost than the actual not playing for the team situation. But it's doubtful he'll get his money back, because there's a recorded history of disaparaging comments towards the team which will not play well in his favor.

This statement is confusing. Current-generation...in 2007? Does that mean they're gonna develop them for the ps2/xbox/gamecube in 2007, if so those games are gonna sell like crap being made for systems on the way out. Or do they mean current generation AS OF 2007 (which means xbox360,ps3,revolution)

I just need the echo the sentiments: Ron Killings is my favorite worker in TNA and I want to see him be placed at the forefront of the company. I think he can take them somewhere. I love his style, his in ring charisma, he can talk, and he can wrestle. Something about him just screams SUPERSTAR, and if they don't push him soon they may regret it.

TO would make a great wrestling heel. as a matter of fact, sometimes i wonder if he thinks he's in some sort of kayfabe wrestling world the way he says things.

I had my first one ever the other night, it wasn't so bad. I got it with no onions and pickles, put some fries on it (although I hate MCD's fries) and it was pretty good, prolly could have used a little less bbq sauce though. Andrew Bogut 10 points 17 boards. 8 offensive boards tonight. Playing like a number 1 pick should play, and doing it on what appears to be a decent team. Milwaukee could be a really exciting story all year long

I personally am thrilled with this news. I'm dying to get Oblivion, it's my most anticipated game right now...and that's why i like this. now I know it's gonna be 100% polished and the best it can be. I also don't have to get an xbox 360 till february now, which will save me no end of frustration/running around on the 22nd, and allow me to pick up cheaper preowned versions of launch games when I do finally get my 360 (Plus have a bigger selection in general) I'm sure Microsoft is a bit unhappy about this, as I know plenty of people who want the 360 for Oblivion, and in general was shaping up to be far and away their best launch title (Specifically in showing the graphical prowess of the 360, no other game really comes closer at this stage) This is good news, to me at least

Some thoughts based on highlights/results: San Antonio looked good, they came out slow but who would expect them to do anything else. There's gonna be games where oberto, Finley, Van Exel, Udrih and Rasho are all gonna play together and beat out other teams starting five, that's how deep this damn team is. If they WANTED to they could prolly win virtually every game, but they no the value of patience in this league. i'm thinking I'm gonna be a Milwaukee fan this year too, I love the way T.J. Ford plays, he's exciting and I love his passing, Redd is a great shooter and Bobby Simmons is just plain GOOD. Not to mention Andrew Bogut looks like he can play (3 blocks is a good sign, he was criticized for not being a great shot blocker coming out of college, but at least in his first night he's using his size well) OKC Hornets beat Sactown, that's surprising, maybe the Kings should just blow everything up and get some value for peja. Didn't watch Pho/Dal last night though, had to get some sleep.

I want utah to be in a nationally televised game. Andrei Kirilenko is the most exciting defensive player in the nba, and no one gets to watch him play. It makes me sad. Sucks living in a non-nba town like Pittsburgh, I don't have any team to root for so I just have to find players to like and root for their teams. Cleveland just wouldn't be right, and D.C. really isn't that close. there's no team in Cincinatti ( a city I like). Philly is ok I suppose, but it's kinda blah. so I'm gonna root for Utah all year I'll never see them play, but at least I'll have something to go with!

Koopa troopa was the best without a doubt. He was cooler too, who didn't want to be a koopa troopa, it was one of the lures of the game for me. I still used bowser a lot (especially in battle mode) because he was cool too!

There's a two player battle mode to it, isn't there? Wasn't that included in super mario all stars (my memory is shoddy right now, it's been a long time since I playe sm all stars funny thing about smb2, I liked using every character EXCEPT for mario, because he was so generic. Peach was awesometastic with her flying, and toad was just so wicked fast

I agree with this. 3 and World were possibly better, but 2 had so much character

My problem with the xbox pad (Controller S and the original) is I like to use the directional pad for 2d fighters (not as much for 3d fighters) and the d-pad on the dxbox is not positioned in such a way for it to be comfortable to use AND the d-pad just plain sucks in the way it's designed (The outside of the main directional buttons is raised too much and it makes it feel too much like one big button, I'm really picky) The only thing about the ps2 controller i like, is how their d-pad is set up, it's perfectly designed and placed for fighting games
