That sucks. I've had OnDemand for awhile too, but just noticed this recently. I don't like how they hide it under "Other Sports". Can't they just come out and say this is wrestling? Sad that it's ending, as I love On Demand, it's good for people that don't watch TV at the same time every day/week and just like to have stuff to wacth at a moments notice.

Great make me feel lazy...I'm already spent from that brutal House Rules match, now i gotta fight all around a city I've never been to!

Discworld references are always enjoyed. In fact any time I hear one, it makes me want to go back and read all of the books over again.

Next weeks Raw, 8/8 is in Pittsburgh, Angle's hometown. Something has to go down between Kurt and Eugene there...it wouldn't make sense not to have him come out next week. Then again, this is the WWE...

0 here but tonight's a friday night, what better thing to do than write 7-10k words of wrestling... heh heh heh -
I really enjoyed this promo. In fact after reading up on some of the past matches (I'm a new guy here) I have to say this is the best promo (at least to me entertainment wise) that I've read yet. Very good stuff, I can't wait to see Landon in action next!

If anyone who read my dark match could give me feedback of any sort I'd appreciate it, since it's my first match ever written. I love criticism so the more the better, as it'll only help me improve!

My first match and I get the Stipulation Slot Machine. How much more fun can it be!

SWF STATS THREAD, Summer 2005 Edition
jwpeer replied to Ace309's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Smarks Board Name: jwpeer Wrestlers Name: Marcus "The Mastermind" Ward Height: 6'1” Weight: 249 lbs Hometown: Bavaria (Really: Cincinatti, OH ) Age: 24 Face/Heel: Controlling, Arrogant Heel Stable: None Ring Escort: None Weapon(s): Likes to set up spot with the steel steps, and execute his impact maneuvers off of them. Quote: “I'm in total control” Looks: Stands very stiff, showing off his confident with a stuck out chest and a consistently smug look on his face. Light sandy brown hair is cropped short, but always carefully combed and neatly arranged. Outside of matches he wears loose fitting stylish clothes in grays, usually a suit jacket and dress pants but never a tie. He has a very stocky build, especially in the legs, with broad shoulders and a low center of gravity. Ring attire consists of full-leg tights in a steel-gray, and low-heeled black boots that come to the calf. The right leg of his tights have a pyramid(in a dark, smoky yellow) with the All-seeing eye (In a pale steel-pink shade) symbol placed just above the knee. He wrestles bare-chested with no accessories (Occasionally he will come out with taped hands/wrists for more important matches/hardcore). A filled triangle is painted on around his left eye, often in the same yellow as his tights, though it can vary from match to match. Ring Entrance: Suddenly some jazzy hip-hop music starts filling the arena...The song "Mastermind" by NYC rapper Nas begins playing. "Uh-Uh" "Uh-uh" "Uh-uh" "A Mastermind - sees it coming before it comes" A man wrapped in a gold sequinned cloak walks out of the entranceway. "A mastermind - before he go to war he counts his one" The cloaked man lifts a single finger in the air. "A mastermind - everything planned out perfect, in case y'all niggaz got to get murdered." Marcus Ward reveals himself as that line is playing, lifting his head up so he can tap finger to forehead as is his signature taunt...and then begins to make his stroll to the ring. "A mastermind - sleeps at night, real easy" Marcus lets his cocky smirk come to his face. "A mastermind - cause everything he does is by the book" "A mastermind - never do a thing irrational, lives forever, these tales are classical." (Generally in between each verse Ward will do something suitably amusing) Stats: ¯¯¯¯¯ Strength: 7 – Powerful man with incredible lower body strength and excellent leverage for his size. Speed: 3 – Fairly agile, will even take to the air on occasion . Is more of a quick thinker/reactor than a speedster however. Vitality: 5 – Average cardio, but excellent pain threshold and good recovery. Has poor knees, so hates leg submissions, and will land on his back/side/face before landing on his feet. (Will only take leg/knee bumps RARELY) Charisma: 5 - Has a powerful voice and knows how to use it. Talented at getting people to love to hate him Style: Marcus wrestles with power, and with purpose. He uses his head when he wrestles, always expecting to be one step ahead of his competitors. He combines excellent lower body strength with a broad array of skills, though he tends to prefer momentum-based power moves. He doesn't cheat often, preferring to prove he controls his opponent, but when he does he always wins, usually following up a low blow with Total Control. Against most opponents he’ll wear them down early with forearm/elbow strikes, knees, and shoulder thrusts. He’ll try and play defensive early, with restholds, arm and leg takedowns to slow the opponent down until he gets his opening. Once he feels he’s in control, he’ll get his opponent into the ropes, either off an irish whip or pushing them off a headlock. From there it's all about stringing together some high-impact moves and locking in Total Control. Larger opponents that don’t like to move a lot can be tricky for Marcus, and he’ll usually adapt a more technical style with drop toeholds and leg work, using some of his limited matwork skills to negate any height/size advantage they might have on him. Ward is exceptionally good at transition moves and counters, especially off of aerial and leaping attacks of all kinds. Many of his matches end after a failed high-risk maneuver by his opponent turns into one of his many high-impact moves. He is extremely flexible in match types, flashing a small amount of mat and aerial work as well, but he’s not strong enough in either of those to really stand up to an expert. Marcus is a poor straight-up brawler, preferring to bait his opponent into a risky move which he counters into something high-impact. Signature moves: Spinebuster Full-nelson Suplex (Occasionally bridges It for a pin) Guillotine Garrotte Special (Tilt-a-whirl into an inverted spine-buster that lands the victims neck right on the ropes) Double Knee to the Back (Opponent on their stomach, runs off the ropes and does a drop double knee into their lower back) Bearhug into a Belly-to-Belly Suplex Triple Back-breaker into an Outside toss (Three Back-breakers, a pause, then he tosses his opponent over the top rope. Then time to play to the crowd cocky style) Lung Basher (Grips with both hands right under the ribs of his opponent, lifts the victim up into the air and drives his head into their sternum. Usually several headbutts, sometimes will drop them onto his knee at the end) Majestic Twist (Will get his opponents leg caught between the top and middle rope, usually while the referee is distracted and start beating on it. Will usually finish with a leaping axehandle or elbow from the second turnbuckle.) Common moves: Face Slaps Elbow Strikes Forearm Strikes Shoulder Thrusts Knee Strikes Headbutt Bear Hug Backbreaker + variations Irish Whip/Pushing opponent into the ropes Running Forearm/Knee Lift Powerslam (uses any variations of it) Belly-to-Belly Suplex + variations Tilt-a-Whirl Anything (Whatever the situation calls for, Spinebuster, Backbreaker, side slam, powerbomb, powerslam, piledriver he does them all, whenever he can.) Drop Toehold Shin breaker Chop Block to the knee Strikes to the knee Knee wrench Armbar takedown Sleeper hold Flying Forearm/Knee Rare moves: Bavarian Bomber (Lifts his opponent for a powerbomb, near the ropes, executes it on the ropes for a spring effect, then grabs the victim from the air and spins into a spinebuster onto the mat.) Psycho Ward – Opponent is sitting on the top rope, Ward is standing on the second rope. Does an exploder powerslam off the ropes with as much height/distance as possible. Finishers: Total Control (Torture Rack Submission) – Marcus can and will hook it up from any position, at any time, what may look like is going to be a simple tilt-a-whirl backbreaker may become a sure submission. (Great for reversal spots and counters, but once he gets it locked in, it's meant to stick, as there's really nowhere for you to go) Conspiracy Crash/Collapse (Press Spinebuster. Lifts them up in a body press, drops them on his shoulder and slams them spinebuster style.) – Extremely high impact move he'll use on most opponents up to about 280 pounds. Above that he'll try and get them up into Total Control, or stick to leg work. Bavarian Bone Breaker (Crucifix Kneebar) - This is his alternate finisher for someone too large for him to get up into Total Control or to exploit an opponent's leg injury. Notes: NO PUNCHING. Please? He has a good list of every other type of strike he'd use (feel free to add). In general though, he's GOING to avoid a strike fight/brawl. It's just not his strength, and is in fact one of his weaker points. Marcus Ward fights like he’s always in control, and tries to sell himself as if he always knows what’s going on. Every event in a match, to him, is a part of his master plan. He will adapt to most styles, but tends to shy away from straight-up brawling when possible. Most of his moves tend to focus on the back, and he has few if any actual head/neck bumps. That is planned as he doesn’t really focus on the face/head, most of his strikes should also be body shots or leg shots. Has bad knees and sells leg/knee shots heavy, and hates taking leg submissions. (EDIT: Just cleaned some things up) -
Carlito, Paul London, and Chris Jericho don't even remotely look like they're on roids.
