Most people don't seem to like Sopranos much after the first few seasons. I really like Shane, but I don't know what to expect for him. Shane really did kill Lem partly to protect Ronnie and Vic and he really did learn that behavior from Vic. It's interesting to compare to season 1 where Shane was all freaked out about Terry and Vic was telling him to forget it. They really aren't that different. Terry was just doing his job. Obviously as viewers we didn't get to know and like Terry but the difference between Terry and Lem was minimal. To Vic they are somehow different just because Lem was his friend. Shane was right - Vic is a hypocrite. Also Ronnie looks a lot better with a beard.

Damn you guys and your time-travel device that lets you watch episodes weeks in advance!! Anyway tonight's episode (6) was intense - but I got a laugh out of "think you can light a fire under their bunsen burners?"

Sounds like a good show. My man-crush Edge and my pretend girlfriend Michelle McCool are both in action.

Didn't GS win the season series?
-
It is funny to watch these guys be really stupid, put in no effort, then cry about how bad they sucked.

ME was super boring.

My bleeding has already basically stopped after 8 hours or so.

And now my wisdom teeth are out.

Somebody Sell Me On The "Blade" movies...
randomguy replied to Jonathon's topic in Television & Film
First and second are both pretty good. I'm a sucker for movies that have a diverse cast of heroes and/or villains. I like the oddball gallery of bad guys in Blade 2. Blade Trilogy was just utter dreck. -
Grindhouse was good. Shame it is tanking.

Hard to win when you are a striker and throw no strikes. Similar to GSP losing. In both fights the favorite didn't put together any real offense and let the opponent get comfy standing up.

Finally someone with grammar worse than my own!

I loved the interaction with Ronni and the other people. Tina was totally sizing him up and everyone but Dutch was into his macho-man shit. It's funny because on the Strike Team he's like the calm rational one but he's still way tougher and crazier than the other detectives and beat cops.

Snitsky is one handsome man.

Is that old black and white movie on the previous page "The Tingler" by any chance?

Yeah KOAB is an idiot. I think the pic in his sig is a little too short, can't he make it like another 600 pixels taller? I mean I can barely see it.

I went to Cornell and grew up in Ithaca. It is kind of a drag for college-aged people, especially grad students. Other than getting wasted in Collegetown there isn't much to do. Boston/Cambridge is pretty big in biotech. Single apartment will run you $1100+ for something decent, but you can get a lot cheaper with roomates or if you live more out of the way.

I have to get a couple of wisdom teeth pulled next month. Other than that I'm in good shape. I had 4 teeth pulled when I was younger and that really sucked.

Vic. Come on, just tonight he told a guy he would let him go if the guy gave Vic some info. After he spilled the beans he cuffed him to a fence instead. "I thought you said you'd let me go?" "Yeah - I feel like shit about that!" LOL. And who can forget "me no speaka Ebonics shithead!" I'm guessing Jack will win since 24 is super popular but Vic all the way. Edit: And I did call this matchup right at the start.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
randomguy replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Whatever they are they are funny as hell. -
Oh snap, I started a thread! Nice production and planning on that first segment, I think I understood at least 3 words and possibly as many as 10.
-
What can I say? I turned it on, I got bored, I turned it off. I literally could not understand a freaking word in the first segment, 6 guys talking at once is too much for me.

Why would GSP go for a takedown when everyone thinks he has better standup and has a huge reach advantage? It's not like GSP's gameplan was a total failure for 3 rounds, he just got caught. If he was losing standing after a round or two then going for takedowns makes sense. But two minutes into the first there wasn't any need for that. And it wasn't like Franklin vs. Silva were Franklin got destroyed standing up for a while. GSP was getting the worst of it but there wasn't any serious damage until the KO flurry started. He did need more variety on offense - body kicks, more punches, etc. But getting it to the ground, where Serra wants it in theory, isn't a sound plan. They were still in the feeling-out period when the KO happened. As far as the Kos fight, yeah it was boring, but he fought to win. I like myfights exciting but I watch MMA to see the best guys in the world, not goons with no skills who can throw down. You can't blame Kos for sticking with a plan that was working. But you can sure as hell blame Diego for sticking with a plan that was failing miserably. Diego did get exposed as a guy with no standup who is afraid to even try to take down a good wrestler. Sprawl and brawl will destroy him.

I like the analysis you guys provide. GSP gave a guy with heavy hands too much respect. He should have just rushed in face first I suppose. GSP's weakness is getting punched in the face. You don't say? What a novel strategy - hey, try punching him, in the face, a lot. Nobody ever thought of that before! And Koschek sucks for beating someone 19-0 with a sound strategy. I guess he also should have rushed in face first also. Koschek gave a great performance. Sure it was boring, but he won a 3 round decision without really ever getting hit. That isn't easy to do. Don't hate a guy because he had a solid gameplan and his opponent was a dumb chump. And the weakness GSP exposed was not getting punched in the face, it was a lack of variety on offense. He relied far too much on left kicks and let Serra get comfy. Edit: Kos didn't beat Sanchez? He barely got touched. He could have gone 50 rounds without a bruise on him. You don't call that getting beat? Yeah, it would have been awesome if Kos had waded in and swung for the fences, but he fought a smart fight and did what he has to do to win. If you want to blame someone for the boring fight blame Diego, who didn't adjust at all and just kept with his losing strategy until the very end.
-
Diego just had a horrible gameplan, but it was also a bad matchup for him and Kos was smart. Kos is better on his feet and is a good enough grappler to keep the match standing. That was his plan and he executed it. The takedown at the end of round 1 was just good strategy, make sure he won the round without exposing himself to much danger. Diego never adjusted. He either needed to go for the takedowns himself or just come in with a 10 punch combination - probably neither would have worked but it's better than nothing. Diego was horrible at controlling the octagon, he let Kos just keep back away and wasn't able to cut off the ring space and force Kos against the wall. When Kos was backing up he needed to press more. Give credit to Kos. He fought smart and Diego fought like a moron.
