I'm really looking forward to week 2 for the Pats and Chargers rematch. I want to see how this team matches up against the Chargers now. Most said that playoff win was luck and luck alone, but with the new additions to the Pats I feel they've surpassed the team talent level of San Diego.

and off to the DL Mussina is most likely headed. Left the game with a hamstring injury or something in that area. If the Red Sox make any moves this season I hope to god it will be upgrading CF and getting rid of Joel Piniero.

San Andreas is probably in my top 5 of favorite post 16 bit system games I've played. If 4 has a solid cast to it, more good music, more new vehicles, and just as fun a storyline then I'm all for it. I still have yet to play Bully by the way. Anybody wanna tell me if that's worth picking up?

I like to think that Bill's words of advice to his son on sex have and always will be "Throw it down big man!".

Don't know. Once I get a few consults though then I imagine they'll have to take me since it would be discrimination not to. You can't take in a bunch of convicted felons but tell a now perfectly healthy man "no" because of some shit that went on a few years back.

I actually answered that very question on Myspace. I'll quote my entry from there

wasn't so much as kicked out as it was medically disqualified at the moment. I just went further into detail on it in that thread intensifier linked to.

the med reasons they hit me up for was my being on anti-depressants while a teen and into my early twenties (although I was told previously its not a disqualifier if you've been off of them for at least a year), although the heart and lung issue I had came up too. Heart and lungs was from being extremely overweight at the time which I am anything but at the moment and I don't battle with depression at all anymore. It also didn't help that for whatever reason one of the doctors put down in my med docs that I came into the hospital with my wrists cut up all over the place. I have never cut up my wrists and I have no scars of any kinds on them. I'm wondering if there's any legal course that should be taken there since that was the major nail in the coffin as to heading down to bootcamp. I'd still like very much to be a Marine but at this stage I don't know what can be done if anything for it to happen. Obviously getting some psyche consults in which the docs can document that I'm completely fine would be step one, but will that work? All I know if that the military is expanding on the different FELONIES in which can be waived but medical shit that is over and done with in my life (and had been for quite awhile now) is being used as a disqualifier. I got the Police Entrance Exam I'll be taking at the end of this month though. If I can't be military then cop or firefighter is more than sufficient.

anybody else watch the show Dexter on Showtime? Its pretty good and has a couple of cast members of Oz in it.

really? I'm just going by what my father told me he heard on the news when I got out of work. I think both Noah and Greene should stay in school. Noah's draft stock fell this year and Greene would be better served with one more year under his belt as well. Horford and Brewer are set though...Brewer actually reminds me alot of Paul Pierce.

I would think Oden would play the Center position with Big Al being the power forward. Oden seems to be a very good rebounder and blocker as well...Hibbert's big knock is that he appears to be real slow, and the Celts want to be a fast break team. Hibbert would be gassed by the end of the first quarter every evening. Hibbert would however fit the Spurs something great. I've also heard that since Billy Donovan is staying at Florida the juniors are thinking of coming back and going for a three-peat. So people may have to take Noah, Brewer, Halford, and Greene out of their draft plans.

I wonder if Ripper heard the "nappie-headed hoes" comment. I pictured what his reaction would have been to that and had a good laugh. -
X. I should have trademarked the large colored "X". It has no right being pink!

random question to Celtics fans and others interested in this kind of thing; Say the Celts aren't in a position where they can draft Oden or Durant come draft day (maybe one stays in college or they get the third pick or some shit). Would you rather trade that pick to a team like Indi for Jermaine O'Neal (and Indi has to take Theo Ratliff to make the money work) or would you take a Brendan Wright or Noah? I'm personally hoping for the best case scenerio where they land Oden in the first round and have Morris Almond fall to their spot in the early second round...but if that doesn't happen I don't know which of the above I'd choose. I know that the trade would be there though as Jermaine evidently wants out of Indi according to Boston area sports outlets and Indi has no first round pick this season and could be looking at rebuilding.

I initially played this on the X-Box 360 and fell in love with it...unfortunately I don't own an X-Box 360 and instead had to get my own copy for the PS2. I figured the graphics would be the only thing to suffer and boy was I ever wrong. For all those asking about it for the PS2, don't waste your time. The controls are slow, the game freezes for a couple seconds in the middle of fielding attempts, and they didn't even update the rosters well (Roger Clemens doesn't exist as far as this game is concerned, not to mention they have everybody's stats buffed beyond belief). Unlike with the X-Box 360 edition the catcher just sits there like a bump on a log too. Doesn't move around or anything. Seems like they went to extremes for the next gen system but just shat out something for those of us without funds to upgrade.

first time I've played fantasy baseball in like 3 years. I think my team is pretty good. C - Piazza 1B - Richie Sexon & Conor Jackson 2B - Dan Uggla & Julio Lugo SS - Julio Lugo & Felipe Lopez 3B - David Wright & Alex Gordon (got Gordon in the last round) OF- Grady Sizemore, Jason Bay, JD Drew & Coco Crisp SP- Roy Halladay, Brandon Webb, Ervin Santana, Josh Beckett & Rich Harden RP- K-Rod, Papelbon & Joel Zumaya 10 team league and I feel my team is pretty balanced up and down

AL East: 1.) Red Sox 2.) Toronto 3.) NY Yankees 4.) Baltimore 5.) Tampa Bay Now I know being a Red Sox fan that my picks here are going to be shrugged off and looked at as biased but let me explain why I feel it will play out this way. First of all the Red Sox answered most if not all of their pressing needs from last year. They added the best FA starting pitcher available in Daisuke Matsuzaka, beefed up the bullpen with the additions of J.C. Romero, Brendon Donnely, Joel Piniero, and that Japanese lefty, added a legit lead-off hitter in Julio Lugo, and they brought in a power hitting right fielder that can give Manny protection in the line-up. With those additions all they really need is better luck this year as we watched the whole team go down with injury after injury last season, which is what appears to be happening with the Yankees as we speak. Their best starting pitcher is already out at least a month with an injured hamstring, Pettite is already complaining about elbow discomfort in his throwing arm (which he's had several injuries to in the past already), and Mussina is susposedly feeling back discomfort off and on. Rotation aside the Yankees bullpen doesn't have much in the way of depth this season from what I've seen. Rivera is the best closer in the game so long as he's healthy, that's a given...but all there is to set him up is Scott Proctor (who threw a large amount of innings last season). Phillip Hughes will probably crack the rotation at some point this season but I just see the Yankees going through what the Red Sox went through last season, and with the whole "Will he or won't he opt-out" thing with A-Rod going on all season...well the distractions and injuries will be too much. AL Central 1.) Detroit 2.) Cleveland (WC) 3.) Chicago 4.) Minn 5.) KC With or without Kenny Rogers the Tigers will still win that division. The surprise however will be the Twins fading out of contention. Reasons being that Santana just won't be enough on his own. Without both Radke and Liriano this season the team doesn't have enough pitching depth. I expect them to trade Torre Hunter and Luis Castillo sometime during the season as they restock for the 08 season when they'll have a rotation anchored down by both Santana and Liriano. Expect to see the Indians turn their stud pitching prospect Adam Miller into the closer sometime by May and bring in a middle reliever or two by the deadline. That's all they need so long as their current players stay healthy. AL West 1.) Angels 2.) Oakland 3.) Seattle 4.) Texas The Angels just have far too much pitching depth to be overcome by any of the other teams in this division. Oakland is still trying to get one full year out of Rich Harden and with both Kotsay and Dan Johnson not appearing to be healthy anytime soon...well they don't have enough. My major prediction however is that the Angels solve their one glaring need (that of another power bat in the line-up) by aquiring Miguel Cabrera from Florida at the trade deadline. I imagine Brandon Wood to be part of the deal but I'm not about to play GM. I just know that the Angels need another power bat desperately and the Marlins will have one at a position that most of the other contenders in baseball with the prospects to aquire him will be set at. NL East 1.) Atlanta 2.) Philli (WC) 3.) NY Mets 4.) Florida 5.) Washington Atlanta is another team that solved its problems during the off-season. Their bullpen alone probably caused them the division last year so what did they do? They brought in Mike Gonzales (who will likely be their future closer and could battle Wickman for the spot this year) and Rafael Soriano which are two major power arms to come in. So long as Smoltz, Hudson, and Hampton stay healthy this team should start its pennant run over. They have enough good young talent to surround the Jones boys with so that the offense won't be a problem. The Mets sliding down to third in my standings after being a few outs from the World Series may surprise alot of people but look at their pitching. Pedro is done, and beyond Tom Glavine they don't really have anything. John Maine should be fairly solid but he's not ready to shoulder the load that team is going to have. The Phillies are going to have a great rotation when everybody is healthy but their middle relief and set-up is ultimately going to be the difference between them winning the division and earning the Wild Card spot. NL Central 1.) St. Louis 2.) Milwaukee 3.) Cubbies 4.) Houston 5.) Cinci 6.) Pitt Clemens will play one more year in Houston but he'll be limited to hamstring issues or something and Roy Oswalt can't pitch everyday. St. Louis, while losing a couple pieces of their starting rotation will still be a better team than any of the others in the division. The big surprise here will be the young talent of the Brewers starting to finally gel and break-out. NL West 1.) Dodgers 2.) Diamondbacks 3.) Padres 4.) Giants 5.) Rockies Barry Zito alone won't save San Fran and Bonds will likely shut it down after he steals the homerun record from Aaron. The Dodgers have too much pitching, too much speed, and too many chips they can trade off to fix any problems they should run across. AL Cy Young: Roy Halladay AL MVP: Grady Sizemore AL RoTY: Daisuke Matsuzaka (although in terms of pure rookies it should probably go to Alex Gordon) NL Cy Young: Ben Sheets NL MVP: Albert Pujols NL RoTY: Homer Bailey Playoffs Divisonal Round: Red Sox over Cleveland Detroit over Angels St. Louis over Atlanta Dodgers over Philli Championship Round: Red Sox over Detroit in 7 (Boston did play Detroit extremely tough last season, and are a much improved team this season) Dodgers over St. Louis World Series Red Sox vs. Dodgers and I'm not going to predict it. Just enjoy Nomar and D-Lowe returning to Boston to play October baseball, Beckett vs. Penny in a match-up of two teamates that helped carry that 2003 Marlins team to a world title, Schilling vs. Lowe in a similiar match-up where Lowe was the first pitcher ever to record wins in the deciding games of 3 post season series in the same season while Schilling gave perhaps the guttsiest playoff performance ever, the speed of the Dodgers vs. the power of the Red Sox and J.D. Drew being booed unmercifully in his return to L.A.. This year should be fun. Edit: Added Pirates and Rockies, although they don't matter.

I had to rush it towards the end since my brother was asking to go shoot hoops with him. Thus my mistake of leaving them out...they're both last place teams anyways. I imagine Homer Bailey will be called up very early though.

Med docs came up right before I was suppose to ship out which are probably going to get me medically discharged over shit that happened years ago. I'm extremely pissed off at the moment and since I'd be homeless right now due to this I was forced to go back to MA. I'm looking at grabbing a job and getting into a Fire Academy for now as I have about a 5% chance of this all still going through at the moment. I have no idea how a military that is trying to expand and looking at deploying further can go out of their way to disqualify candidates. Evidently they've wanted to disqualify me ever since finding out about my highschool education. Regardless I'm still not going to be around for awhile as I try to get all my affairs in order. I'm so completely frustrated right now over all of this.

thanks man. Well I'm out. Talk to you all in a few months (with the exception of Slayer whom I'll call at some point before I leave)

I'll be too busy to check in really. I work out with the Marine recruiters now everyday...today was a 5hr workout. My arms feel like putty.

The Celts better not think they're on some kind of playoff push after winning those 3 in a row. I could see them losing these next 3 as they haven't done much against the West this year.
-
uh-oh...what happened? Also, what were you doing for work? I've been jobless since Feb 4th just waiting for bootcamp and have been bored to death.

I just witnessed my first drive-by shooting

When I was around 16 I was actually in the middle of one. Me and my at the time best friend were walking down the street when a car came speeding out of nowhere. The screeching of the tires grabbed our attention, we looked back before they got to us and saw one hanging out the back window with a gun. Both of us proceeded to dive behind cars for cover and one of the bullets actually grazed my friend's arm.
