  1. exactly..people have been cheating and taking shortcuts in sports from the beginning...baseball cant do a damn thing to Barry Bonds unless he fails their drug test...or maybe if they catch him on video using steroids...no matter if theres a paper trail...it is still hearsay and Major League Baseball cant use testimony from a SEALED court document to punish him...yes Barry has used steroids...but how many players have been banned and has had their records erased because of it?..I can show a bunch of before and after pictures of players from 5 years ago to today
  2. ok so what about everyone who has ever tested positive for steroids, corked a bat, used vaseline, sandpaper in the past?
  3. caught? Yes he was caught. The authors of this book have uncovered a paper trail extending back seven years fully documenting what he took, where he got them from, how much he paid and what sort of schedule he took them on. There are taped phone conversations with Bonds himself on them. What more do you need? This is not just hearsay and circumstantial evidence, there is hardline proof that Bonds was using steroids in a timeframe where he broke the HR record and accumulated 300+ homers. of course he used steroids....but it isnt considered 'caught' if it were not illegal in baseball...thats just like your job banning caffiene pills today and firing you for using them in the past....the only hall of fame caliber player you can make a case for in terms of eliminating his career is Rafael Palmeiro with his testing positive and even with that...I would vote for McGwire,Sosa,Bonds, and Palmeiro
  4. No, they really don't. At all. their only great prospect that left NY during their prime was Alfonso Soriano in the A rod trade
  5. he is in the union, just has his own licensing deals with video games and the like
  6. I agree..u dont just point out Bonds,McGwire or Palmeiro..if u wanna wipe anything clean..wipe out the entire era or leave it the way it is and let current testing run its course for the future..Barry Bonds was a multi time MVP prior to the "steroid era"..you also cant prove when guys started using steroids
  7. caught?
  8. given my 3rd row seat on the main floor i hope not
  9. out of the prospects you named..how many gonna be in Oakland by the turn of the decade?...another advantage is teams like the Yankees keep all of their good prospects that teams like Milwaukee would have to trade
  10. sure free agency allows for more competition but...say Carl Pavano for example..Yankees signed him for $40 million and he flopped his 1st year..now he probably wont even make their rotation...is he handicapping their team? NO..is he stopping them from throwing more money to cover that fuck up? NO...say Pavano signed with the Tigers...Tigers wouldnt have been able to go get Randy Johnson that same offseason and they would have been stuck with Pavano near the top of the rotation for years...its just like Giambi...he wasnt the MVP that they expected..they go get ARod,Matsui,Sheffield,Damon...same thing....and the draft isnt much of a factor in competitive balance..just look at where Giambi,Tejada,Hudson,Mulder,Isringhausen, etc are today or ask Kansas City where Johnny Damon and Carlos Beltran went or the former Expos what happened to Vlad,Pedro, etc
  11. absolutely..I have barely looked in rap's direction since way back in high school
  12. No, I'll tell you what's frustrating. Going 13-3 in 2001 and 4-12 the very next year. It's good that every team has a chance, but when teams bounce back and forth from the Super Bowl to 4th in the division, it just feels like God draws this year's good teams out of a hat. You know that's not true. Back here, April 2003, some "Mik at Cornell" boldly stated that his Florida Marlins, of all teams, were somehow going to win the World Series. Everyone on this board ripped him to shreds for such a bold statement that couldn't possibly be true. I mean, these guys were in the cellar year after year after year since the fire sale. Look what happened. The Cubs were pennant favorites in '04 and they couldn't even finish second in the Central. Anything can happen in baseball, and without the divine intervention of THE COMPETITIVE-BALANCING SALARY CAP!!!, it's a lot more genuine. of course there are exceptions to the rule in baseball...but teams like the Yankees,Mets and Cubs are able to try to spend their way out of fuckups..if the Devil Rays or Brewers fuck up,..they are stuck in neutral..I just want to see everyone on the same spending playing field and front offices move around that...it is more entertaining to me..theres a big reason why the NFL is trying to get the CBA done NOW you know
  13. so Iverson was rejected for Luke Ridnour,Bruce Bowen and Shane Battier?...alrighty
  14. baseball's main underlying problem is still it is the same teams every year basically buying up the talent and in the playoffs every year..people can claim im just bashing greatness...but it isnt really interesting to me..I am very sick of the Yankees,Red Sox,Cardinals,Angels,Dodgers..big market teams year in year out..yeah im a Tigers fan and thats part of the reason baseball doesnt interest me lol....but going into the season I know from jump theres no chance..in the NFL..different teams raise up year after year and I know that any given year..a team has a chance and a salary cap keeps an even playing field
  15. best thread i have ever seen...the main point been made over and over again...WWE isnt listening to what the fans want because they know we will watch no matter what..if they get competition..the fans wouldnt be taken for granted and HHH wouldnt be making his triumphant trek to title reign #17
  16. this is the longest halftime ever zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  17. only HHH.
  18. Isiah dont know if he wanna go young or old...for every Frye,Robinson,Curry,Lee...theres Jerome James,Richardson,Rose, now hes trying to get Francis or K Mart...Isiah shoulda broke it down from the start..Marbury going there and making the playoffs the 1st year was a gift and a curse for you all
  19. I have NEVER seen the Tigers field a good baseball team..thats absolutely sad...ehh...adding Jones Rogers and losing Johnson and whoever they lost just mean its another 72 win season..ho hum...and the Lions are unbearable but at least we had Barry and made the playoffs every other year in the 90s basically....but both teams are in the dumps..its hard for me to even get excited with Mike Martz there...Joey is back for year #5..I mean wtf when is enough enough?...in the past 25 years..ive only seen 1 QB suck his 1st 4 full seasons and boom hes a pro bowler and thats Plummer and he made the playoffs his 2nd year
  20. im a fan of the worst franchise in pro sports last 18 years Detroit Tigers...0 winning seasons in 13 years...no playoffs in 19 years...lost 90 games last year and lost 119 games a couple years ago..biggest free agent signing was Kenny Rogers a guy prolly 5 years older than Lebron James mom
  21. that would take the storyline into WCW circa 2000 mode
  22. and big business wont care..all theyd have to do is outsource more...get the tax break and cut more salaries for higher skilled worsers overseas
