I think they're playing Reading Festival this year. I'll watch them just for 'Kryptonite'.

The OAO TSM "Happy Birthday, you!" Thread
luke-o replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in No Holds Barred
Happy Birthday Spiff, I do love your avatar. -
I don't think you'd be the only one. I'd also like Mario Golf 64. Actually, Super Mario RPG would be pretty sweet too. And that's what I want from the VC, is to release games that we never got to play.

Keaton was thrown money to do Batman Forever. He only turned it down because it was "too much of a comedy". That's all it takes.
-
So, it's like The Twilight Zone?
-
Well he's the only TNA wrestler to pop the PPV buyrates on his first PPV singles match. So yeah, he is.

That is a lie, him having good matches obviously have something to do with the reception he gets. I explained in the very next sentance what I meant by that. He only got over when he took the Machismo gimmick on. Before that, he was a bland lower card wrestler. No the argument is why is somebody as Bland as Kaz getting a push in the heavyweight secnse, when it's obvious Lethal is more over and will be accepted more than Kaz. Going round in circles here. I'm not saying that Lethal could, I'm saying that Black Machismo can't. And don't give us the "world champion in his underwear" bollocks. Was it stupid? Yes it toally was and made him look like a jackass. But guess what, it was Kurt Angle - a proven draw. Has Lethal drawn any money as a world champion?

No Wasp as of yet. While I do think he's worthy of a film, I don't have a good feeling about it. Wow, Joe Cornish? Really? That's so out of left field. I know that he and Wright are friends, but writing a big budget Hollywood movie? Certainly come a long way since he was making spoof films with toys. Saw the film yesterday and loved it. Great stuff, everyone was on top form. Although i wrecked the movie for myself as everytime Bridges came on screen I thought to myself, "The Dude abides!". Great after credit sequence too. There we're only 5 of us in the cinema, but everyone of us marked out like lil' bitches.

And you only got 15 gamer points for it? What a jip.

Arcade games would be awesome. I'd love to have The Punisher or the Simpsons arcade game. I can see what Lushus is saying, but I really dispise playing retro games on PC's. They just feel really clunky, guess I just like using a pad. Thanks.

Decent review, but I've never been a fan of the GTA series so I can't really comment on it.

Well I think it deserves it's own thread, mainly because of the three consoles, the Wii has the best for game downloads. So, in this thread: Post the games you own The games you might consider purchasing The games you want on there And your general views on the VC. For me, I own: Kid Icarus (NES) Double Dragon (NES) Mega Man (NES) Mega Man II (NES) Splatterhouse (Turbo Graffix) Street Gangs (NES) Mario Bros 3 (NES) Super Probotector (SNES) Kirby's Adventure (SNES) Eternal Champions (Mega Drive) Sonic 3 (Mega Drive) Super Street Fighter II (SNES) King of Fighters 94 (Neo Geo) Story of Thor (Mega Drive) Breath of Fire II (SNES) Sin & Punishment (N64) Paper Mario (N64) Games I'm thinking of getting? Well I was considering Impossible Mission on Commadore but apart from the not a lot. Games I want? Splatterhouse 2 and 3, especially 3 as it never came out over here Mega-Lo-Mania - I fuckin' love this game Skitchin' - another awesome game Haunting - I don't know why I like this game so much, but I do. As I said, I think the VC is awesome and really puts the Wii on a high platform for me. It's probably because I love retro games and much prefer them to newer games.

Who will Hulk Hogan put over? I always knew Mean Gene was meant for big things. Why does Randy Savage hate the WWE? When in doubt, blame the Warrior.

Why? I would love to see Knightfall made into a movie by Nolan and Bale, and I think the Dark Knight Returns would be a good story to end the series on. Most likely, the next movie is going to be mostly about Two Face, so I think that would make for a pretty good 5 movie arc. A few reasons, the main one being that most film franchises tend to go south after the third one. Also, films just seem to work better as trilogys. That way you can have a conclusive point. But my other reason (albeit a facetious one) is that I doubt Nolan and Bale would want to keep making these films. Actors and directors want to try new and other things rather than being tied down to the same films over and over again. And if Nolan or Bale were to leave we'd be back Batman and Robin again with new directors, new Batmans and new problems. If Nolan we're to keep this a trilogy and have a logical closure point to the final film, it would be an excellent way to end the series. There's like a 3 year break between each movie. How can you get burnt out on that? That's fair enough, but think about it from his point of view. You have a two year gap where you can try new things, then you have to go back and play the same character again for another year. As I said, I'm being facitious, for all I know, Bale loves playing Batman and wants to do it forever and if he does then fair play. But I don't want him to drop out (or Nolan for that matter) and have replacements.

I agree that a remake is the only "logical" way forward with the Friday franchise. Or here's another idea: LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE! It's not hard to come up with a new idea for a slasher movie.
-
You know that worries me as it's almost what they could be building up towards, what with them being "tag team partners and friends".
-
I already said this in the Joe thread, but no one agreed with me. I'm glad me and Jingus agree on things other than women sometimes Look Truthiness, you and I have never gotten on or agreed on things and probably never will. Mainly because I believe you are a smark of the smarkiest variety. But I still disagree with your look on Lethal. You keep saying (and I mean KEEP saying) that he's the third most over face on the roster. That's correct, but it's a comedy gimmick that got him over, not his matches. He was having good-great matches since day one of the company but only got over with the Macho Man gimmick. Now that he's established, he could drop out of this gimmick and be taken seriously. All it takes is one good promo, something along the lines of, "the time for fun is over, now it's time to kick some ass". If he's good on the mic as you claim him to be, it'll be fine. The argument here is not wether Jay Lethal could be a credible TNA champion, is wether Black Machismo could be a credible TNA champion. The former could in time, the latter most definatly cannot. And I'm sorry, using the "TNA sucks" argument is not a good argument.

That last bit made my head spin. But I'm sure it will make sense when I see it. At least that's cleared up about KoTM and suprise suprise another tournament. Good thing I enjoy them really. But Rodert Roode in the main event? I still don't buy into it just yet. But they could play him off as the "wild card" and build him up.

Why would a heel contender respect a face champion? Isn't a natural tendancy of heels to not like/respect anyone that isn't another heel?
-
I think it would be best to keep it as a trilogy.
-
I wouldn't listen to what Konnan says, he just sounds like a bitter bastard. I'm not sure why the 2nd push for LAX has taken so long, but it's been a slow build and it's worked.
-
Let me get this straight, this year the KoTM match has 8 people in it? And of those 8 'top tier contenders' are Robert Roode, James Storm, Tomko and Matt Morgan? I'm all for pushing talent to the top, but come on!

Too F'N much.
