Given how profitable they are, I don't see that happening. And I still don't see how the product is so bad and what would need "shaking" up? Need I remind you that this is about personal taste, and not fact? Just because you find the product entertaining, doesn't mean it's entertaining. I personally find the product dreadful, but that doesn't make me right. It's just my opinion. I can't find any reason to tune into Raw these days. It's become so painfully boring for me that I've basically stopped watching, much like I did in 2004.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

He is a manger at Target. That's a job, a career. He can't perform anymore, so the indy circuit isn't a option. He's making a steady income and keeping his health and his sanity intact while Flair is paying off huge debts, wrestling into his 60's, getting divorced and getting his ass kicked by his daughter's boyfriend. He teaches history at a middle school in Pennsylvania. And Flair's not 60 years old, Choken. And he didn't get his ass kicked by his daughter's boyfriend. Yeah, he teaches 8th grade. I never understood the feud between the two. Seemed kind of stupid. -

He seems like an LSD kind of guy. Maybe shrooms. -

If it turns out to be drugs, I wonder if they will remain true to their policy and give Jeff the axe. But maybe, enough time has passed since the Benoit situation that they might be able to just sweep it under the rug. -
This is a hard question to answer. I don't think there is just one face to the company. In a public relations standpoint, it's Vince. But overall, I don't think you can argue that Austin, Rock, and Hogan were more popular than the other. Rock is the biggest crossover star without a doubt. Ric Flair says that Austin is the biggest star professional wrestling has ever seen, and it's hard to disagree with him. Austin brought the WWE to heights that it will probably never see again, or at least for a very long time. Look at the WWE today and look at it when Austin was at top of the mountain. I'm not saying the WWE needs to go back to that formula, but wow...whatever it's doing now needs to change. It might please a few smarks, but it's not pleasing enough people according to that 2.7 rating. I've always been partial to the WWE and always could find it entertaining, but now, even I'm running out of reasons to watch.

Well....I think we know who pulls the ratings on Raw.... They really need Cena back -
Jericho vs. Punk vs. JBL vs. Santino vs. Batista vs. Phoenix? Thinking they could keep everything in a holding pattern until Orton comes back and have either Rey or Kane in place of Kermit. I would buy that PPV just for that match.

She was terrific before the injury. I thought she was on her way to becomming the next Trish. In terms of popularity...maybe not talent.
-
This is a tough Raw for me to watch. Firstly, because I'm a Cowboys fan. Secondly, because they had their big match right at the beginning. It feels like there isn't anything left to look foward to.

That injury really slowed Candice down. I mean, she wasn't the best before the injury, but she was certainly better than this.

Here comes the avalanche of Punk Burial complaints...

I won't bash you Noah, but I would like link to the quote that the WWE said about their demo being 18-30 year old males. If that's the case, then they are way off point because there are numerous children, not to mention, females, that make up a large portion of the audience every week. I think the attitude era was directed at 18-30 year old males. Especially with The Rock and Austin swearing, drinking beer, and beating the shit out of their boss every week. Not to mention, the countless amount of stunners/people's elbows that females got during that time. This era, not so much. There isn't anything edgy about the program right now. I think the "edgy-est" thing about the show is the fact that Cryme Tyme still has the name "Cryme Tyme"....
-
Yeah, because Priceless are heat machines right now... The only reason the crowd cares about them is because they're in a program with one of the most popular teams in the WWE (Cryme Tyme) Pairing him with Orton, perhaps the best heel the company has right now would be a great move. Did you not hear the boo's that Orton got each and every time he appeared? He's more over now than he ever was and putting Team Priceless with him would defintely boost their careers, not hinder them.

Further proof that Cena just isn't over. I know you mean no offense to the Cena fans. Heh, heh...nice one! Of course, someday you will finally realize that Cena is only over in certain cities when there's a high ratio of kids and teenybopper girls. Even if you're saying Cena doesn't get cheered (which he does...a lot) your arguement that he isn't over is just plain false. The crowd cares about him whether they want him to win or lose. Some want him to win, some want him to lose. The fact is, the man is getting a reaction wherever he goes. How does that not constitute being over to you?
-
Sorry about that. Fixed.

According to Wikipedia, she was released today 8/20/08 for "unknown reasons". I'm not too familiar with TNA, but it was probably due to personal issues as I've never heard of her being a problem backstage.

Nice shirt Bob Charley

Haha...come on man...

The match is a clever way for the wrestlers to pad their stats. (title reigns)
-
Oh, no, I'm with you. Punk and even Triple H are getting buried as champions. Hell, neither mainevented last night and neither have even been the main focus on their shows the past month. They're being set up to fail, I tell you. You have me all wrong man, I don't care about Punk. He's not getting buried and I wouldn't care if he was. I just said he's not important because A. A lot of people really don't care about him that much. And B. His reign is like Big Shows was when he was feuding with Bossman. Overshadowed by more entertaining things. And look at the pop Cena got...Wrestling fans are so fucking fickle it makes me sick.
-
I know, but by the time he comes out I just have that feeling that a lot of the crowd's steam will be let out. I agree, and it was likely done for this reason. Yeah, they couldn't be trying to pop the second hour ratings. They're trying to sabotage Punk's title reign. Perfect sense. Your sarcasm would be justified if CM Punk was actually a big deal.

Call me crazy, but I have a feeling Punk's reaction won't be as mind blowing as most think.

Look how un-over Cena is...
