WWE General Discussion - November 2007

I agree... As soon as you go to TNA, theres no turning back. No one will give a shit about you anymore ALA Sting, Angle, Booker T, Nash, Hall, Cage, Jarett, Cornette, Dudley Boys...basically everyone.

My B Hawk Oh.....and I can see MVP being the #1 heel of the company, but I just can't picture him in the top spot. The one who sells a shit load of merchandise, sells out events or makes the talk show appearances. I can see him being the "HHH" or Kurt Angle of the attitude era, the heel that everyone loved to hate, but I can't see him being "the guy". HHH, the #1 heel of the attitude era, did go on to have a stellar career obviously, but he was never seen as the face of the company. He's never been seen as a star outside of wrestling, which Austin, Cena, Rock ad Hogan have been seen. I think MVP can have a great career with a lot of title runs, but I can't see him as a top face, and ultimately, the face of the company has to be a face.

You got to be fucking kidding me right? No, I'm not. Can you honestly tell me that MVP can carry the company? Are his promo skills good enough to be the top star of the company? ALA Rock, Austin or Cena? I'm not saying that MVP doesn't have a lot of in-ring skills or mic skills, but he just doesn't have enough to be the face of the company. Besides, the face of the company is John Cena, and rightfully so.

You're fooling yourself if you really think any of those three deserve the rub. Austin is one of the biggest stars in the history of the industry. It would be a horrible decision to put over MVP, Kennedy or Punk. Neither one of those three have the potential to be the face of the company anyway. If the WWE is smart, they'll use Austin to make a lot of money in some sort of dream match. And please...can we stop thinking that MVP or Punk can carry the company? MVP is...well...just not good enough or charasmatic enough and Punk doesn't appeal to a wide enough crowd. Not everyone sits home every night listening to minor threat, drinking pepsi, and playing tic tac toe on the top of their hands. I don't blame Austin for not wanting to job to anyone...if you were the biggest star in the history of the industry, why in God's name would you want to job to a mid-carder who is virtually unknown outside of the wrestling world. Cena, Rock and Hogan are pretty much the only wrestlers who are known outside of wrestling. If Austin is going to wrestle anyone, it should be one of those 3.

Finlay...gets the crowd to pop...really? Finlay is absolutely uninteresting to the casual fan, and to be honest, me. He's fun to watch in the ring, but we're watching it from a technical standpoint. To say that he gets the crowd going more than Shawn Michaels is not only stupid, but just flat out wrong. Listen to the crowd during and HBK match and entrance, and then compare it with Finlay's. The only reason theres any noise at all during a Finlay match is because most of the time he's going against a face who's pretty over such as Matt Hardy, Lashley, Rey etc. I'm not saying HBK is always super super over, but unless your name is Austin, Rock, Cena or Hogan, you're bound to have some heatless moments. Rock and Austin are at the top of the wrestling mountain, and you're trying to make it sound as if Finlay is as over as they were/are. And please, don't even try to put Bret, Angle, Eddie or Benoit in the same category as those two. Anyone who thinks that anyone else belongs with Austin and Rock is delusional. HHH is bitter at everyone else because he realizes that he'll never be looked at as being on top of the wrestling world like Austin, Rock and Hogan were.

If anything, RVD's moveset is more unrealistic than anything that Shawn has ever done. RVD hit's a whole bunch of flip flop moves that logic says someone would probably be able to avoid. If anyone's moveset is predictable, then it has to be RVD's. As far as the Superkick/SCM being a legit finisher, I think it's one of the best and most realistic finishers out there. It's simple, yet effective. It's a kick to the face. Many fighters in MMA have been legit knocked the fuck out by a kick to the face. I don't think a finisher has to be long and elaborate to be deemed effective. The best thing about the superkick/SCM is that it can come out of anywhere. The one thing I enjoy about Orton is the RKO. Moves like SCM, RKO, Stunner, Rock Bottom, and to a lesser extent, the FU, are all moves that get a crowd going and can suprise them. Those moves are the ones that really get guys over because it makes they're matches more exciting and unpredictable to watch.

Are you serious right now? Chris Jericho has never been a slouch in the ring. If anything, he's up there in the same class of workers as HBK and Cena , and certainly the most versatile worker. I think it's quite hysterical that you're actually suggesting that Orton can carry someone through a match. If anything, people carry Orton through matches. I don't think Orton is the worst in the ring, but to suggest that he's better than Jericho in the ring is absolutely insane. If anyone in the E has the power to carry people through matches, it's HBK and Cena...not Randy Orton of all people.

I'm not overly concerend with what time Jericho appears...as long as he appears... But knowing the E's track record of dissapointment...I'm not going in with the upmost expectations.

As far as Punk goes, from all accounts, the guy is a total dickwad in real life. I won't feel bad for him if he's getting shit talked for being an ass. I also hear that Punk thinks way too much of himself. Settle down Punk. You're not Rock. You're not Austin. You're not Hogan. You're not Cena....Fuck, You're not even Jeff Hardy. You're no more than an indy darling who has a title equal to the European championship on a show drawing 1.1 ratings. In a nutshell... I really don't like CM Punk. I don't care if he's a good performer, if he's an asshole outside of the ring, I can't respect that.

I was thinking the same thing, but it is the first time that they will be on the same game or console i think... Yeah, but the concept just seems stupid - the olympics? Yeah, it would make more sense to release it next spring/summer

Well, looks like I'm picking up SvR 08 tomorrow... They had better have re-animated the RKO I don't care about the roster, I just create myself anyway and whoop ass. This whole limited fighting style kind of sucks...Part of the fun was creating a 5'7" Asian who could powerbomb Kane

Teardrop suplex time... Realistically....HBK will probably win with an RKO or Elbow Drop Optimistically, HBK wins with a sharpshooter or canadian destroyer
