MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

The show as a whole was pretty solid so if you do manage to find a replay try to catch the whole thing. -
I really liked it. Some LOL jokes and some great songs. It would have been even better but the commercials gave away some of the better jokes. I watched the comedy special from 2005 On Demand earlier, and it was pretty decent. I like Jemaine... Yeah - I like this show a lot but I can't see it lasting more then one season. I don't know.

Wow. That was an amazing season premiere... and maybe one of the best episodes of Entourage ever. Billy Walsh is a fucking maniac genius and I love it.

I'm not really sure what to think right now. But that episode and the preview for next week went a long way in keeping me watching. Much better than the first one. I'm really interested to find out what's going on. I like a lot of the minor characters and I'll say it again... Ed O'Neill is owning this show right now.

While this thread is titled media it might also be a good place to ask why we can't imbed youtube videos here on the site?

The whole PPV was pretty decent. The things that annoyed me/I didn't like: Forrest fighting scared. Forrest's shitty attitude. "I didn't train very hard for this fight." FU. The first two rounds of Okami/Franklin. I was really hoping that Rich tapped to that kimura in the third round. It was close and he showed great submission defense getting out of it. The coolest part of Griffin/Ramirez was having The Natural in one corner and Rampage in the other. Worth the money for Griffin/Guida, but overall suprisingly good. I just wish that Okami and Scott Smith ended up winning. I really hope that Anderson defends his belt now because I'm curious to see a Franklin/Silva rematch.

Somewhere in Canada, LOTC just had multiple orgasms because Griffin/Guida was 17 types of awesome. Too much awesomeness to even describe. I'd have to watch it 4 more times to digest it all. FOTN, FOTY, whatever. It was beautiful. Made the purchase worth the money.

I'm weak. I bought this despite my best intentions. Scott Smith currently bleeding profusely but I'm hoping he can turn this around and take care of Herman. I hate Ed Herman. Cocky, ugly ginger fucker. And Smith, on the other hand, provides an entertaining fight EVERY time win or lose. He should have a lifetime contract.

I'm really digging Ed O'Neill's performance. Everything else... It had better grow on me fast.

Yeah it was a massive number for HBO.

Shouldn't this subsection include the MMA folder as well?

Yeah so Royce tested positive for steroids after his K-1 fight. Didn't see that coming. -
Oh yeah... Manny definitely Koscheked his way to victory against Lauzon and Wiman. That whole last episode was incredible... from the slow mo ping pong shots (topped by Dana's expressions), to Cole getting his head shaved, to the entire fight... But nothing topped Nate Diaz's elegant speech on what it means to be an emotional fighter.

Very much looking forward to this one.

I finally caught some clips of Tyson Griffin knocking out Urijah Faber by countering Faber's superman punch at that outdoor card. Still his only loss. Seemed like a bad ass fight. I guess that PPV doesn't seem all bad, but I'm still gonna skip it and hope for the good matches to find their way online.

Has Rich Franklin had a single day in the past 5 years where he hasn't had a black eye? That's what I'm wondering. During the course of the UFC countdown show I noticed 3 different versions.

Keith Law just did a review of the 2002 draft on ESPN.com. It's insider so I won't bother linking it. It's a rather long article, breaking down each pick and sorting the busts and great picks, etc. Here's the top and bottom 5: Top: 1. D-Rays (B.J. Upton, Elijah Dukes) 2. Marlins (Jeremy Hermida, Scott Olsen, Josh Johnson) 3. Giants (Matt Cain) 4. Dodgers (Russ Martin, Jonathan Broxton, James Loney) 5. Mets (Kazmir and Lindstrom - both on other clubs whoops) Bottom: 1. Cubs 2. Mariners 3. Astros 4. D-Backs 5. Rangers If you're interested in this sort of thing and have insider it's definitely worth reading.

I read on UFCJunkie this morning that everyone was telling him he should hope to see the Tandan McCrory fight because "this kid will amaze you." Well - I also found out this morning that he's from Ithaca, NY... where I currently live and he wrestled for the high school wrestling team (The Ithaca High School "Little Red") here. Awesome. He submitted Pete Spratt last night so off to a good start.
-
Yeah - I enjoyed every fight. Great KOs from McFedries and Anthony Jackson, a great display of submission defense by Fitch before pounding some face and getting the choke, an awesome performances from Thiago Tavares, just fantastic. And an awesome, balls out main event. Great night.

On the broadcast they said it was the first no-hitter for the Tigers since Jack Morris in 1984. I caught the last inning. He looked filthy.

Eh, it's only $129. You're better off getting 4-5 months out of your new computer and then dropping the money on Leopard.

I took this one totally the opposite way. He was excited. The "we" was NJ and Tony winning over Phil and NY. I think he really was on to working terror and was genuinely excited that Tony got to Phil. He quickly straightened up when he realized what he just did... which lead me to believe that he was happy for Tony getting to Phil.

Yeah I just can't see classifying that ending as brilliant. There are just too many conclusions one would have to draw to assume he got shot and the last thing he saw was Meadow.
