Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
Mik replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Yeah, the 30-27s were really throwing me off. I can't really see how Lytle lost the first round. He showed nearly flawless takedown defense the entire round and even scored a takedown of his own. But two judges gave the round to Serra? What? I was really looking forward to Bisping fighting and I'm a little disappointed with his visa problems, but overall it was a decent card. That Smith/Sell finish was very memorable and will probably go on the UFC highlight reel. -

That was one of the coolest things I've seen. You need to see it if you haven't. I thought he was playing possum... -

I thought Bisping was fighting tonight? -
It's the Tarheels year. I can feel it. Too talented to lose. When Roy Williams is talking about his biggest problem being how to fit in all the talent... it's gonna be a great year.

Let's not forget the most important quote of the night! "Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list." That one is gonna come back, in spades.

Science H. Logic, what a jerk! Great two part episode.

Is it not the same dog?

Not to mention he has thrown two no-hitters. If this guy can provide half the impact Nomo did then he's worth the money.

"Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list." EDIT: Is it Jacob or Gerald Degroot? If it's Jacob - is it him? If it's Gerald - who the hell is Jacob? PS: Jack is the fucking man. Also, if you saw the episode tonight you should read the spoilers that were posted above - there is a lot of cool stuff there that isn't spoilers - more like a preview. Two months.

I think you're substantially overstating by making them one of the top farm systems in baseball. I can think of 6 off the top of my head without even analyzing it (D-Backs, Dodgers, Marlins, D-Rays, Angels, Rockies) and I'm sure by the time you sort it out they are middle of the pack. They've certainly improved a fair bit, though. In other news, here are some of Bill James projections from his latest handbook for career achievements: Career Assessments • 756 home runs: Bonds -- 97 percent chance of reaching the mark, Rodriguez 31 percent, Albert Pujols 22 percent, Andruw Jones 16 percent • 2,298 RBI: Rodriguez 27 percent, Pujols 16 percent, A. Jones 12 percent, Manny Ramirez 12 percent • 2,296 runs scored: Rodriguez 25 percent, Pujols 14 percent, Bonds 14 percent • 793 doubles: Miguel Cabrera 15 percent • 4,000 hits: Derek Jeter 6 percent, Cabrera 5 percent, Rodriguez 5 percent • Projected career homers: Bonds 884, Adam Dunn 618, Ryan Howard 711, Vladimir Guerrero 633, Troy Glaus 539, A. Jones 677, Pujols 867, A. Rodriguez 772, Jim Thome 619

I thought it was hilarious. Between Stewie killing the vaudeville guys, Chris hopping on the old man's motorcycle, the Stewie/Brian so-gay bit and this... Presenter:And the award for biggest posse goes to... JA-RULE. Woman in the crowd: HEY! Presenter: No Madonna... we said biggest posse.

Was wondering if you can help a sporadic at best wrestling fan out a little bit... I just watched the Hogan anthology DVD and was pretty pleased with it. I see that there is an Undertaker one out as well. Any good? Is it comprehensive? And secondly, are there any plans for a similar "career" DVD for Shawn Michaels that anyone knows about? Thanks in advance.

Borat was insane. If there's any justice in the world it will clear $150M.

Do not fear me gypsy. All I want are your tears. If you do not give them to me, I will take them. Do you understand me?

Thanks, guys. Very helpful. I appreciate it.

Ok - unlike most of the other thread I start in this folder... I don't like this band. And I thought they were laughably, hilariously bad on Saturday Night Live. But then I checked the reviews for this album and it's being called an American masterpiece and things of that nature. What? Can anybody give any insight into this insanity?

Wow. This thread made me realize how much I don't miss Dangerous Donnie D.

Am I the only one here with a lot of credit? I have 3 Bank of America (Visa): 7.99% - $7500 limit Bank of America (American Express): Also 7.99%- $1500 limit Chase (Mastercard): 8.99% -$2000 limit The credit card companies love me, I'm guessing, because I never miss or be late on a payment, always pay more then the minimum but I still owe them about $10k.

If the tumor isn't Ben's; I will be pissed for the following reason: They discussed his tumor not in the presence of Jack. He whispered to her, "Why did you show him my X-Ray" with Jack not around. If it's a lie, there was no point to that sequence other then to throw off the audience as it didn't effect any of the characters. That's just lazy and would be terrible. But I give them more credit then that. So I definitely think it's his tumor. Whether she's playing him or not is another matter.

Baseball Prospectus end of the year awards

In his blog today, Buster Olney talks about how now is the perfect time for the Marlins to trade Dontrelle Willis. The rationale being the following: 1) His value might be on the downswing. He pitched decent this year with 13 wins and a 3.87 (ish) ERA but nothing close to his 2005 campaign. 2) The Marlins have one of the best young rotations in the league and they don't really need him 3) The pitching crop is thin this offseason and they could get everything they need and desire (mainly an elite CF prospect). I'm torn, really. I agree with his points and I do realize that Dontrelle might not be as good as he was last year. At the same time, this guy is one of the hardest working, most fun, and best examples of a ballplayer there is out there right now. Any team would be lucky to have a guy like him around. He always says the right thing - always plays the game right way. That's the kind of player I want on my team to cheer for. It's one of those things. Either way could be acceptable but I'm not sure what I'd be happiest with. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens and deal with it afterwards. Because at this point - I honestly think it could go either way.

Hey, I've been on that ride.

That ultimate showdown one was pretty good.
