I read somewhere else that one of Jack's patients in the episode was none other then Mr. Friendly/Tom, but I didn't see any pics anywhere. Anybody see anything about that? Edit: Beat to it by a few seconds.

That's exactly what I think is the case as well - so I'm guessing it's something else.

It's been said before and it shall be said again...but Randy Marsh is GOD.

That episode was awesome. I don't know what some of you people expect out of every episode... like 5 resolutions a show? Perfect build and a total mindfuck. I was wondering what the hell was going on at all turns, and just when I thought I figured a bit out... they changed it up. Like - I thought that all three were to be treated differently and Kate would be treated well, but then Henry blew that out of the water by saying that the next two weeks would be difficult for her. Pefect season opener - for me at least. I can only ask to be entertained by a show and care about what happens. If the show is over and it feels like I've been watching for five minutes - that's also a good sign. Both of those happened tonight, so I have nothing to complain about.

In A LOT of years, Prince would be a runaway choice - but this year slotting him at 5th is pretty generous, IMO.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...

Wonder what Rich Franklin thought after catching this past episode? I don't think a single positive thing was said about him. -
I could see that. To make some even further comparisons... if you take the synth out of "For Reasons Unknown" I can almost picture it being an Elvis song.

Which is ironic because I just saw the Strokes in concert two weeks ago and I almost couldn't get over how awkward Casanovas was. As for this CD, I've had it for almost a week and I have to say that it's pretty good. Much different than Hot Fuss, but still seems like The Killers nonetheless. I think that people who liked the first album will generally like this one and people who didn't could go either way.

Wow. I had forgotten most of those names. Is Prime still around? I mean - that had to be a gimmick, right?

Pay for flip4mac? I got it for free. I have nothing against PCs and I use them all the time at school but I'm happy that I made the switch. I find everything easy, seamless and well integrated. I am annoyed at times that I can not run certain programs, such as most of the Poker sites, but other than that I am pretty happy. My next computer? It could go either way but I'll probably stay with Apple.

You could tell right at the beginning of the 3rd round that it was a foregone conclusion. BJ destroyed him the first two but he was cooked after that failed triangle/armbar. Hughes just took a huge shot at Penn. "It's a shame he didn't have the conditioning to go 5 rounds." And then GSP tops it: "Matt, I'm glad you won the fight, but I was not impressed with what you did tonight." Rogan said that after the camera left that Hughes was pissed. Awesome.

JOE LAUZON! That was awesome. So quick and so easy. Jens Pulzer really irritated me for some reason so I was loving that. I'm glad I got this already.

I just watched the preview show and this looks like a decent show to make my inaugural UFC purchase. But just in case, do any of the veterans here want to try and talk me out of it? Or is this being regarded as a show that looks pretty good?

How not? A team with a $15M payroll predicted to lose 100+ games was within 1.5 games of the wild card into September. How is that not a great season?

I'm not the least bit surprised that the Marlins flamed out, but this was a great season. Just tremendous. I can't wait until opening day next season and I truly, truly hope they use some of that excess money to sign Dontrelle to a long term deal. Sure - he can probably bring back a ton of prospects including the desperately needed CF prospect (Chris Young would be ideal) but he's more than just a pitcher. He's the face of the franchise and one of the most likeable players in all of baseball. It would just be a deadly, deadly mistake to trade him. Same goes for Cabrera but I don't think even Jeff Loria is dumb enough to get rid of him.

Girardi with 0% chance of returning to Marlins next season.

The line that got the biggest crack out of me on Family Guy was after Lois hit Peter with the frying pan and he said...I can taste the blood! And Lois' response was... "Well, there's a lot of it." It was just the delivery that got me.

Another great thing about the season is the year that Frank Thomas is having. I think that if people had any doubt he was a Hall of Fame baseball player - he erased it this year. He's way over on all of the monitors at baseball-reference.com (except one). I think he should be a first ballot. Is that the consensus opinion, or no?
-
Two part question: 1) With 45 HRs and 40 steals, do you think it's possible for Alfonso Soriano to become the game's first ever 50-50 player? and 2) If so - how significant would you rate the accomplishment? I'd say it's not looking extremely probable but it's certainly within the realm of possibility and I would rate it as an all-time great season.
-
Marlins really pissed the last two games away against the Mets. They should have realistically swept the series. Oh well - hopefully they can get hot one more time and even if they can't... great year.
-
Ugh. 3 run homer for Delgado to tie it in Florida.
-
Marlins put a class A beat down on the Mets tonight to gain a half game in the WC as the other teams are idle. Miguel Cabrera took over the batting lead from the suddenly floundering Freddy Sanchez. Hopefully he can hang on to it.
