While maybe not the biggest news, 1999 #1 overall draft pick Josh Hamilton was allowed to play minor league baseball this year. He was picked ahead of Josh Beckett and threw 98 mph while hitting 500 foot HRs back in the day. He was, of course, tragically sidelined by a drug addiction. The talent is there... let's hope he's grown up and can do something in the minor league. He's on the D-rays, fyi.

All the talk in Florida and the Florida papers, etc. is gravitating toward adding some veteran pieces for the "playoff run". I don't like talk like that one bit. I don't care if they are 1 game out of 2nd place in the East. That would be stupid. It's actually really bothering me.

And UNC left the bases loaded in the top of the 8th w/ one out. First hitter struck out. 2nd hitter CHASED a terrible pitch while the runner on 3rd was stealing home. If he just took it - the guy stealing would have been safe. Total meltdown by UNC.

FYI, the pilot is a free download from iTunes this week. I believe that expires tomorrow morning. It was there all week, but I never heard of it. Thanks to this thread I downloaded... still haven't watched though.

The people on the Marlins board are saying that it will be on tomorrow night on FSN florida. There is no MLB game on ESPN due to the College World Series - so I think it will be available on MLB.tv.

The other piece of the Josh Beckett deal, Anibal Sanchez will be making his MLB debut tomorrow night in Yankee stadium. Today's game got rained out and there is a day/night doubleheader tomorrow. They called him up to start the 8 pm game. Welcome to the bigs, man. He throws gas.

My contract just ran out - so I got the RAZR through Verizon. Love it so far - toying w/ the idea of getting V-Cast, but I'm not sure how often I would use it. My last phone didn't even have a camera so it's a big step up. Can't say about the loudness issue one way or another as no one has called me in the two hours I've had it. We'll see - I'm loving the phone though.

Anybody? Probably going tomorrow afternoon to check it out and although the reviews are bad - it seems to be the type of movie that's right up my alley. Anybody get a chance to see it yet?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how many fights are there on tomorrow night's show... the two finals and the main event? Or are there others? I just started watching about 3 weeks ago so I'm a little behind.
