I'm really hoping that the Marlins sweep the Yanks this weekend so the Yankee fans who don't pay attention to any other teams can have a coronary and the ever increasing national attention on the Marlins wll reach a fever pitch. Marlins sweep = 1,000,000 stories on how 5 Yankees make more than the entire Marlins payroll individually.

So the Marlins use back to back pinch hit HRs to tie the game in the 9th. And then Miguel Cabrera knocks in the game winning run when the pitcher attempting to intentionally walk him put it right over the plate. One of the greatest plays I've ever seen.

I absolutely loved it. All the bad stuff people said on here and elsewhere had me a little worried, but my first intuition was right - this was my kind of movie. Like Bruiser said...the poop smear and all the farting was stupid, but Jack Black and his dialogue had me rolling. It seems like anything JB or Will Ferrell does makes me laugh - just about anything. With that said... I'm patiently awaiting The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

Ozzie Guillen is in trouble for calling Jay Mariotti a "fucking fag." Let's see if that one gets mentioned on Around the Horn today.

Here's an interesting tidbit: Dontrelle Willis is now the all-time Marlins wins leader w/ 50 wins. He passed AJ Burnett. He's 24 w/ 50 wins...not too shabby.

Barring a miracle, 9 in a row for the Marlins. 6-0 w/ Willis pitching a great game...bottom of the 7th.

David Segui has admitted to taking HGH legally due his body "not producing it" and also being the one who pointed Jason Grimsley in the right direction. This isn't exactly turning up hall of famers, is it?

I'm really just getting in to the UFC and whatever, but I can honestly see Bisping being my favorite fighter. The guy is flat out hilarious. When Ross was going over their previous fight... one of Bisping's lines to him was..."Ross, be a gentleman." In relation to lying. Still cracks me up. I know Loria did some bad things w/ other teams - but he hasn't been so bad w/ the Marlins. It's his CEO (and son-in-law I think) David Sampson that everyone currently hates. But Wayne Huizenga is the one who killed baseball dead in Miami and continues to do so by extorting a large percentage of the Marlins profits and basically forcing them to beg for a stadium.

Saranac samplers are usually good w/ the Christmas 12 pack probably being my favorite. As I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, I believe I am fully obligated to mention Yuengling. I also like Magic Hat #9.

How do you guys actually stomach posting on team fan forums? It actually bothers me to read the Marlins forum even though I keep doing it. They were ripping a team of 18 rookies after losses in the beginning of the year and now after 6 wins they are talking ABOUT THE PLAYOFFS. Give me a f'n break! This is easily my favorite Marlins team besides 2003 and maybe even ever, but to read some of the crap people write on these forums makes my brain hurt. How do you guys manage?

Did you see the play Miguel made? Amazing. Whoever was going toward 3rd (sorry - wasn't paying attention) was there in time but Miguel actually blocked the bag w/ his foot and absorbed a mini-spiking to make the out. Looking like 5 in a row for the Marlins.

Haven't seen it anywhere, but "great bat, terrible glove" all world prospect BJ Upton was arrested for drunk driving in Durham, NC. Blew the same BAC as JJ Redick did.

4 in a row. 5 of 6. 14 of 20. Go Marlins. One of the hottest teams in baseball. Before the season everyone was so quick to talk about how "truly awful" the Marlins were. Truly awful teams (like the Royals) NEVER have runs like these.

Well it's obvious that he doesn't know anything about it. It's not the fact that they passed them, Kotz. It's the fact that their 21-24 year old players who should realistically still be in AA are not only adapting to the major leagues but excelling. Stick to college football and aging Australian pop singers.

Somebody slow down the Marlins. They've quietly gone from worst record in all of baseball to just about passing a few teams. Amazing. I'm telling you - as soon as next year.
