Terra Serra did make an appearance cornering Luke Cummo but you couldn't really hear him at all. Or maybe I was just too busy yelling "Go Tamdan! Go Tamdan!" for 15 straight minutes. It's hard to remember these details.

Yeah... after listening to it I wasn't blown away either.

38 victims already. Get extra garlic on your pizza, smartmarks. It's only a matter of time before they reveal their true form as man. http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/08/08/vampi...s.ap/index.html

Hey Franz Ferdinand has a song from their third album on their webpage...I'm at work so I can't listen to it. Anyone want to give it a listen and say if it's any good or not?

I give that fight a 10% chance of happening right now. -
When I mentioned the door thing I was thinking more along the lines of my coworkers who I see every day. I expect them to thank me. We're supposed to be a team, ya know?

For those of you who were fans of The Format before they broke up (and I know I wasn't the only one on this board)... Nate started a new band with some other dudes. All they have is a demo on MySpace now but it's not bad. This was apparently recorded the first day they were together as a band... so I give it a slight pass for not being the best. Regardless, considering The Format was only two permanent guys and a rotating cast... this might as well be the same band. http://www.myspace.com/fun

Worse. The IFL.

Kazuo Misaki's first bout on US soil will occur at the next "Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion" card and be against none other then Joe Riggs. Misaki/Akiyama is probably still on my top 5 favorite fights of the past year. Hopefully he can do well in the US. -
Upon rewatching the fights I paid more attention to what the corners said to each fighter during the round breaks. When I watch the PPV that's when I usually post on here or get a drink or whatever. Brock's corner was repeatedly telling him to use hammerfists, which means he's being coached into this boring awful strategy. Hammerfists, IMO, are about the worst thing Brock can do on a regular basis. Bas Rutten said it best when he said short elbows and Brock is unbeatable. Hell, even a few loaded punches. There's nothing wrong with hammerfists but as your primary gnp weapon? I don't know. As for the fight being boring - yes, it sort of was. But that doesn't mean Brock didn't do anything. Heath Herring is probably unrecognizable today. The punches don't look like much but consider the size of the hand and the strength of the man throwing them and they add up quick.

Unless you are the 2007 Colorado Rockies.

UFC is paying Brock nearly $500k a fight (if he wins). He's not going anywhere.
-
Ehhhhh it's doable.

And every sentence is preceeded by Hey!

I was able to grab this very small picture of Jon Fitch from a Kenny Florian press conference video. It's a bad picture I know but it's the best I could find. FUCKED UP.

Is that a good or bad number for Pineapple Express?

In honor of the biggest fight in the UFC since Randy/Chuck 1 or maybe even ever... I have an idea for GSP/Penn 2 that will be forum wide and will hopefully be fun for everyone. I'll announce it when the match is official. Oh, and I don't know if this has ever been said in this folder but "the beautiful Edith" is anything but. Easily the ugliest ring girl in UFC history and it's sad seeing her sit next to a goddess like Ariany Celeste. All she has is her giant fake breasts. -
I wouldn't say that this actually angers me so much as annoys me, but... When you get to a 4 way stop sign at the same time as someone else. You're going straight and they are turning in front of you... so obviously you should go ahead of them. But you be nice and let them ahead of you because you're not in a hurry right? But then they don't give a little thank you wave? Motherfucker, did you see how kind I just was to you? How hard is it to lift your hand in a small token of appreciation? Same vein: hold the door open for someone long enough that you actually have to slow down or stop a bit and they don't say thank you. REALLY?

Oh and LOL at Tamdan telling Joe Rogan after the fight that he had good jiu-jitsu because he "read Eddie Bravo's book on the way over to the fight."
-
Oh my god it's like christmas morning with that news. Let me remind you guys that Tamdan is only 21. Anyway, as for Brock... his next fight should be Kongo. In fact, I can't even think of another logical opponent. Throw it on GSP/Penn 2 and send the buyrate through the fucking roof. Brock is a draw again. I agree with Rudo, I'm not sure putting hooks in and flattening Heath out would have made much more of a difference. Two gaping holes in Brock's game last night... 1) Lack of killer instinct at the end of the second round. Heath nearly collapsed from some of those knees to the body and there was about 45-60 seconds left. He could have finished if he put some more knees in bunches and unleashed a fury on Heath. I know Heath is always dangerous and all but he was DONE at that point. Brock let him continue. 2) His GnP needs SERIOUS work. It basically consists of exactly what Heath said pre-fight... "Donkey kong on ma head"... just one punch...ONE like GSP does from the guard and Heath would have been out cold. You know the one I'm talking about, when he postures up and takes one clean hard shot. Short elbows like Bas suggested for him or even real punches and he will be unstoppable. He's so strong and his hands are so large that he inflicts serious damage with those baby rabbit punches but if he hits people with real shots it's almost scary what he can accomplish. I still think that Brock is, without a shadow of a doubt, the future UFC heavyweight champion. I took the stance from the very beginning (seriously go back to page 1) that Brock was going to steamroll Heath with his wrestling and I'm glad he didn't make me look foolish. As for my other mancrush, well I'm glad Roger lost. First, Kenny is a better fighter right now. And two, this loss was needed to get some perspective back in Roger's life. It left a bad taste in my mouth when he was calling Florian a "cakewalk" in the pre-fight interview. What planet are you living on Roger? Get back in the gym and work your fucking ass off. You're signing a 40+30 deal most likely so live with that fact and resign yourself to training like a motherfucker. And YPOV said it best about the end. That was typical BJ. I was laughing my head off. DO YOU GUYS WANT TO SEE BJ PENN/GSP...oh yeah good fight...BUT DO YOU REALLY WANNA SEE IT?! Doing it in the ring like that means Kenny's going to be waiting for his title shot until March/April. * Jon Fitch and Georges St. Pierre each pocketed an extra $60,000 for Fight of the Night following their five round war for the welterweight title. * Demian Maia was awarded Submission of the Night and also pocketed an extra $60,000 for his rear naked choke submission against Jason MacDonald in the opening bout of the pay-per-view portion of the show. * Rob Emerson was awarded Knockout of the Night and also took home an extra $60,000 for his brutal 12 second knockout victory over TUF 5 castmate Manny Gamburyan. Emerson winning KO of the night is probably the most obvious thing ever... but it probably actually was the KO of the night. Maia is one of the highest paid fighters in the UFC right now because he wins submission of the night like every single time out. He's making nearly 100k a fight right now.

GSP vs. BJ Penn showdown. That's what I like to see. OH YEAH AND TAMDAN WON. WOOOOOOT.
-
Yeah you're right. My mistake.

BJ PENN HAS THE TOOLS.
