Well, I'm interested to see Franklin/Hamill because I don't know... Matt can easily win that fight. Hell, all three of the big names under the main event are vulnerable. Dan Henderson is, and should be, a mega-favorite over Palhares but he can get caught in a sub. I'd still favor Dan. Also, Karo has flat out admitted that he doesn't train as hard as he should...well, his talent level is not that much greater than Yoshida to get away with that, so if he doesn't come in ready to fight then he could lose as well. I still think the main event is clear cut win for Liddell though, but it wouldn't be the biggest upset of all time.

If you have those genes then you don't even have to pig out to put on the pounds so you have two choices 1) fuck it - I'll eat like everyone with good genetics does and just cry about it later or 2) eat right and work out every day of your life so that it's not a diet but a lifestyle and look just as good if not better than other people... because genetics for adding fat usually include the added benefit of packing on lean mass very easily. Unless you have a thyroid condition there's really no excuse for being a deuce and a half that doesn't include the word lazy.

Fight of The Year: Miguel Torres/Yoshiro Maeda gets the slight nod for me over Eddie Alvarez/Joachim Hansen. Honorable Mention: Faber vs. Pulver Fighter of The Year: Eddie Alvarez Honorable Mention: Lyoto Machida. Two impressive wins and everybody is ducking him. Show of The Year: DREAM 3 was my instant gut instinct. Hansen/Alvarez was a FOTY and just about every fight on that card was better than average. Mayhem and Manhoef both had great entrances and dominant performances and Uno pulled off a great upset in the main event. Honorable Mention: WEC: Faber vs. Pulver: with two fight of the year candidates. Best UFC was probably 84. Best KO: Maybe because it's fresh in my mind but Rory Markham's is pretty impressive. Best Submission: For personal reasons, Demain Maia's inverted triangle/elbow carving of the white trash superstar at UFC 83. Honorable Mention: Aokiplata: DREAM4 Best Promo: BJ Penn: "Sean Sherk, you're dead." UNC going undefeated this year... somewhat likely or very likely? Roy thought everyone was leaving and brought in 3 very talented freshmen and then EVERYONE came back except Quentin Thomas (who sucks anyway)... the talent is off the charts.

Fuck Pitchfork on this one. They are just cowtailing to popular opinion because it's one thing to not like the album. In fact, it's completely understandable... it's not for everyone. But you can't give a great review to Wizard of Ahhs and then shit all over Partie Tramautic because they are practically the same fucking thing. In fact, 4 of the 10 songs on the full length overlap with the EP and the other six are in the same exact style. If you're going to completely reverse your position on two albums that are nearly identical then you need to do better than a picture of two dogs.

In my opinion, Tyson's current standing in the lightweight division is the furthest he'll ever get. I can't see him defeating ANY of the top guys right now. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I think he ends up finding a home at 145. Speaking of 145...Leonard Garcia vs. Jens Pulver on September 10th. Add that to Urijah/Mike Brown and Sonnen/Filho 2 and we're looking at another banging WEC card.

Affliction salaries were 3.3 million. 3x higher than ANY show the UFC has ever put on. And I also don't think Fedor's salary is correct. No way he only got paid 300k when Dana definitely offered much more than that. 800k for Sylvia, 750k for Arlovski, 300k for Lindland. I wouldn't be surprised if that Fedor number is actually 1.3M to push it to 4.3 million.

Another great show. Digged the flying armbar...the triangle/armbar/escape in the first round of Aoki/Uno was dope, Alvarez vs. Kawajiri was incredible. Just another flat out fucking awesome fight for Eddie Alvarez. His concession speech was pretty classy and good as well. Hunt doesn't even give a shit anymore, does he? Nice to see Hansen knock Aoki out cold... I really like how they made it 100% clear that his first title defense is against Eddie Alvarez. Fight wasn't much but it was awesome nonetheless. Aoki makes it very easy to hate him, what with him weeping all the fucking time and everything. He was still crying after the 20 minute celebration. Akiyama is fucking HATED. The heat wasn't as much in this fight as it was during the Misaki fight but it was still strong. I love how they cut to the crowd and just about everyone is booing the shit out of him, including old ladies. He also seems to relish the heat. Josh Koscheck needs to take notes because that's how you become a mega-star by being hated. It's awesome to watch his fights because the heat is insane. Hawk brought up a good point ... having Bas and Kenny in Japan helps tremendously. Not only are they awake and actually calling the fight better but then you can also have the little segments like the great interview they had with Urijah during intermission and having Eddie in the booth before the finale. Another big thumbs up from me. Better than the UFC by miles and probably just as good if not better than the Affliction show.
