There's another MMA movie coming out, titled RedBelt (I think) that looks half-way decent. -

I guess the Huerta/Florian speculation was a bit premature. He's said he's not fighting for 6-8 months, citing burnout after 5 fights in 2007. -
I'm dying to dig into the DVD but I need to get through 2 and 1/2 more seasons of The Wire before Jan. 6, so it needs to wait. It's sitting on my shelf staring at me, but no time to get into it now.

I had to go with Dukes... had to. I'm surprised to see I'm the only one.

I almost thought that said they traded for Billy Butler and I was wondering how Alberto Callapso was comparable, but then I remembered they had a Buckner in the Billy department who isn't quite as heralded. Butler can never be traded to the NL because he has DH written all over him.

Yeah... that looks incredible. I can't wait to see it. I thought it was neat how they were all taking pictures of the statue head on their phones and what-not until the monster showed up. That's probably exactly what would happen.

The CNBC special last night was mostly pretty interesting, except for the bit on the Tapout guys. There was a killer part during the end of the first segment when they cought up with Randy. He was kind of ignoring the interviewer, and the interviewer asked him if "The UFC needs Randy Couture more than Randy Couture needs the UFC." Randy said he wasn't in a position to speak, but mentioned there are other places to fight. The guy repeated his question, and Randy said...well, not for me. I only ever wanted to fight in the UFC and I don't want to fight there anymore. I guess I can't be a fighter anymore, as he trailed off and looked like he was about to break in to tears. Five ounces of pain has links to all the segments for those of you who weren't able to catch it. Dana comes off both as a genius and as a giant d-bag in parts, which is probably customary. -
You're right. They had some really outstanding songs on the first album with a few misses, but the second one is hard to listen to at times with almost no outstanding songs. And a lot of people will be turned off right off the bat by the voice. As for Black Kids, I wasn't familiar until Czech made this thread, but I have to say... I love the EP. Two great songs, with the one in the original post, and also I Underestimated My Charm (Again) also being a highlight for me. I watched the videos of them butchering some of the songs live, etc. and I think when it comes down to it - they can put out a good CD and I could really care less if they are a good live band. Maybe they'll have sticking power, but none of that really matters to me. Obviously, they don't deserve the hype they are getting but I'm never one to get concerned with the hype and/or popularity of a band and I can't really see why anyone gets worked up over that sort of nonsense anyway. If you like the music, great. If not, there's tons of music out there for you to like, so move on. I realize most people don't think it's cool to like The Killers, but that's not going to stop me from liking them... I just can't understand people who influence their own opinion based on the opinion of others. It irritates me quite a bit. To me, these guys are in the same boat as Los Campesinos! right now in that...ok, you have a pretty decent EP here and hopefully you can improve it and get rid of some of the crap for your first real album. Hopefully 1/2 delivers and that would be good enough for me.

Not exactly the warmest welcome back reception in the world for Kotz. -
I find it hilarious that Cowherd reported the wrong list. The guy continues to be a clueless d-bag.

This is BIG NEWS. That's a bit trifling.

I just skimmed most of it, but I found this part very interesting. A Dodgers internal memo. They knew he was off the roids he was previously on and then pawned him off on the Marlins, who then, in turn probably knew he would go back on the roids, which he did. Niiiice.

Some people are still ranking Fedor #1 pound for pound, which just can't be justified at this point. Any other choice besides Anderson Silva is baffling to me, to be honest. He's ranked #1 in the Fight Magazine rankings (Silva - I mean), but fiveouncesofpain, for one has Silva ranked 4 behind Randy, Fedor, and Rampage, which is silly. I think if Fedor keeps fighting these type of fights he has to drop, right?

Clemens should incur just as much scorn as Bonds. Same career arc, basically. Great, HOF type player who had a late career resurgence fueled by steroids. If Clemens gets off the hook via popular support - it's an outrage.

Curran had his back for 3 minutes and didn't even sniff a dangerous position. The jumping knee while the other leg was occupied was pretty sick. Yeah - I'm really hoping for Urijah/Kid sometime this summer. -
Prequels of sorts: Omar (1985) McNulty and Bunk (2000) Prop Joe (1962)

Anyone get to watch the unseen flashbacks on the DVD yet? I haven't gotten the chance.

I sincerely hope that a lot of Paulo's lackluster effort resulted from him getting knocked loopy right at the beginning of round one by that takedown. I heard Henderson and Lindland screaming that he was KO'd. At least that's what I'm hoping, but who knows. The clubbing right hand/german suplex sequence was fucking awesome but probably wasn't as cool as Frank being 2x the size of Valencia in the post fight interview. Nice quick sub for Jens and then he yelled fuck you to everyone in sight. He said he wants a title fight within 3 months? -

I'm just as jazzed for the WEC card tonight as I have been for any UFC in recent memory... probably as far back as Stacked. Hopefully the fights that are supposed to deliver actually do. -

For those who haven't seen this one before... it is real.

A reason ESPN doesn't suck: E-60. I really enjoy it.

Well - not mentioned whether it's free or PPV yet. I'd guess PPV. I maybe over-emphasized because I wanted to see that match and I didn't think it was going to happen.
