I'll go with another defenseman as well, and who better than a member of the famed "Russian Five"? Vladimir Konstantinov This guy was GREAT before his unfortunate accident at 30 years old. Led the NHL in plus/minus in '96 and was runner-up for the Norris in '97. Gives my team even more grit, aggression, and heart, and should pair very well with Pronger.

Well, unlike the NBA draft, I'm gonna get my coach early so... Al Arbour Second all-time in many coaching categories (including wins and games coached) and coached one of my players (Trottier). Great team builder and many people would put him as the 2nd greatest coach ahead of Toe Blake and behind Scotty Bowman.

Hey, if 909 and Gert are around, could you guys make your picks if possible? This thing could go faster if I get my pick in before I leave soon (won't be back until 10 or so).

I haven't watched too much MMA before but I checked this out and thought it wasn't too bad. Sure, Kimbo had his rough moments, but what did ya expect? I'm no expert by any means but I'm pretty sure a guy with his lack of experience is gonna look shaky at times. I enjoyed the women's match and the title match (despite the questionable endings). I agree with Hawk; the show's future comes down to how the casual fans respond to this event.

Got a new men's 100-meter record. Jamaica's Usain Bolt with a time of 9.72 That's fucking ridiculous.

I don't remember trying it, but I do have an old-ass, unopened bottle collecting dust in my basement.

From my understanding, he should be able to make his 9th-10th picks anytime now. Didn't someone PM him?

Yeah, I'd say so. It'll be interesting to see what Joe D does. Flip's most likely gone (Avery as replacement?). It's gonna be hard to move 'Sheed so we'll see how that plays out. Hunter will retire (McDyess might) and guys like Ratliff and Hayes probably won't be back. It's tough to blow up the team when they're in the NBA's final four every year, but 3 straight ECF losses means that significant changes have to be made.
-
That's exactly how I think it'll play out. And no, I'm not DOIN' IT FOR THE CONFERENCE. I like KG, but I wanna see Kobe get his 1st ring without Shaq (I won't be mad if Boston wins though).
-
Awful, simply awful. Boston did what they had to do, but Detroit just played with no heart at all (and once again, we were witness to yet another 'Sheed implosion). Joe D needs to book Flip Saunders on the first flight back to Minnesota. EDIT: I take that back. Some Pistons came to play, but some others just plain went in the tank.

Man, I wish Detroit could play Seattle every day. Swept them last week and just put up 7 runs in the 1st inning tonight.

QFT (I remember that stuff was still at Arby's for a stretch, but it's gone now.)

Who's hyped for the Spelling Bee tonight? My money's on the white girl in an upset over the Arab girl.
-
I should be around then.

Well, I was gonna take Niedermayer but alas...I'm perfectly fine with this guy though. Chris Pronger

Bookie called at halftime maybe?
-
Well, there is a penalty right now for the Hack-A-Shaq strategy for the last 2 minutes of a game (1 shot and the ball I believe). Maybe they should extend it to say, the last 8 minutes of the game (could be more, but fouling off the ball usually doesn't happen any earlier than that). I do agree with Ripper on the flopping; just make it a no-call if it's a flop.

I believe Arizin's the last of the original 50 Greatest to go off the board. Great value pick but I'm not sure how he'll be received by the voters...going WAY back with Arizin.
-
I'm for picking individual linemen.

Didn't happen tonight (although the preview for the next week hints that it will). Now everyone's gone off the deep end on this show, with Will (who took a major shot at Greg's deceased father) and Dave going off on Greg big time, doing everything but punching him right in his fucking grill. Good stuff.

Not sure if you're talking to me (or if you're even being serious), but... 1. Linda basically insinuating that the victim's (John Graziano's his name I believe) mother cares more about money and being vindicitive than her own son. Also, Linda minimizing the vitcim's injuries and lamenting on how "bad" Nick has it. 2. Hulk and Nick already plotting a reality show for when Nick gets out of jail. Also, both of them said some negative things about the victim and tried to shift blame to him (yes, he shouldn't have been in the car, but seriously...) which just came across as being very unsympathetic. 3. The family just being whiny in general about the whole situation.

Tough game...Pistons had one bad stretch and couldn't quite come all the way back. Allen was obviously way past due and he delivered. I think Detroit should be fine in Game 6, but it's gonna be a tall order to win a Game 7 in Boston. They won Game 2 and were right there tonight...gonna be hard to play that well on the road 3 outta 4 but if anyone's gonna do it, it would be the Pistons.

This Galarraga kid has looked pretty impressive this season for Detroit.

Way to blow the call, Breen.
