    The Writer's Strike

If they waited and let most of the shows roll out more episodes, they would lose a ton of leverage.

    Randy quits the UFC

Well Tito just plain sucks and never fought that often to begin with. He fought 1-2 times a year before and after he became a UFC star. It's like that with all the old school UFC fighters though like Tito, Couture, Liddell, etc. They fought 2-3 times a year before they became stars and they're still fighting 2-3 times a year now even though they make 100 times more money. Fighters coming over from small shows or Pride are used to fighting 4-6 times a year and they're carrying that over into their UFC careers. Shit most of the newer UFC fighters have as much or even more fights than UFC veterans do. Just wait and see. I have a strong feeling that up and coming fighters who are fighting frequently right now will still fight as much when they make it big. The time of fighters like Liddell fighting 2-3 times a year is almost over. It's always going to be that way, even with as many events as there are, and its not just the pay system. The more hyped and the more invested a promotion becomes in a guy, the less they are going to risk him. Look at Matt Hughes prior to 2002, which coincides with him winning the title. Alot of the big name guys only are risked two to three times a year.

61 is also the Major League highest for an individual not on Steroids. Who's to say A-Rod qualifies?

Thing is there was no headbutt. Like the Sylvia arm-break.

    UFC 74

I was on your side. What I meant to say is that you can do plenty of BJJ from the top, like pass guard, attempt submissions, and keeping a strong base. BJJ, in other words, is not limited to what you can do from your back.

    UFC 74

Since when does BJJ only occur on your back anyway. Do you think the goal all of us big guys have in sport BJJ is to get to our backs so we can triangle the other bit guys with their enormous shoulders and our huge thighs?

    Good music editing software

Are you familiar with FL Studio? It's the best of its kind that is free. My brother, who produces and sells beats, swears by this as well.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I heard some of it two days ago. It's like he took every conscious hip hop stereotype and went with it. He just isn't trying anymore. And the album cover. what the fuck man? And what the fuck is up with the beats. This was supposed to be a J-dilla-eque album, and aside from the lead single, it's all straight up soft Kanye beats (well, Premiere does scratch on "Game"). I'm disappointed, and indifferent to most of the album.

    OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007

Even if the number is adjusted, their not going to have it perfect, and we're going to have to wait until Tuesday to see whether this is just an anomaly or a pattern. As an aside, I'm surprised I haven't seen more ads on period, as I didn't even see an extra push for the show during Burn Notice, Psych, or Monk, let alone on any other channel.

And that's just Balco. Benoit had at least two doctors so far that they've busted since his death. So how many times do we have to multiply that factor out before we start getting into the cheap end of Mexico.

    OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007

Quote of the day at Wrestling Classics about why ratings are down:
  17. Right, I thought, given the circumstances, he handled himself pretty well until that part. Even if he would have just said that Benoit may have started back up on roids after he cleared the April test. There is plenty of time in between the testing date and the murders for this to be WWE's defense of their testing process and they should at least prep the talent that are speaking to the media to respond to a question about the possibility of his toxicology showing steroids. Except for the paper trail of massive amount of steroids purchased leading further back and well into the current period.

For those that held up on Kill Bill....

I love the second much more than the first. Gordon Liu was like the single greatest thing going, and I loved how they tied Pei Mei into so much of the story (five-point exploding, Elle Driver and the eye, the coffin scene). Madsen and Carradine were able to play much better sympathetic heels compared to Vivica A. Fox, so much so that I marked hard when Madsen busts Black Mamba with the shotgun. It was like everything was in the crapper for him, but he still got the better of her. And that made Hannah twice the villain, as she was this total sleazy slut who was just completely jealous of Thurman. And mothefuckin Esteban. And I like the fact that the violence is a bit more subdued in terms of blood.
  19. It's being covered by ESPN foremost because of the magnitude of the story, but also because the issue is similar to issues other sports face (steroids, drugs).

    The Shield

I was thinking mid-way through the episode that the Armenians were going to end up killing Mara and Shane's kid at the end as Shane tries to save Vic's family.
