Don't forget to join myself and thehistoryofwwe.com's Graham Cawthon at 5pm Eastern as we preview SummerSlam. Phone number and link in a previous post.

Because that makes sense...how, exactly?

I still can't believe we were supposed to be gullible enough to believe the chick was gullible enough not to notice Stephanie was passed out in the passenger's seat.

Regarding referees letting the heels get away with the blind tag (and I've done some refereeing myself, so this is my kayfabe excuse): The heels have usually made the full switch, thus the legal guy is now on the apron and, conceivably, they made the tag. Usually both faces are still in the ring, so it appears they're illegally double teaming. The way I do it is if the teammates switch places before I turn around, I allow the "tag". Makes me look stupid to the fans, but at least I can justify it if I'm called out.

I think I'm currently free. War Games sounds like fun though a bitch to help write. Too many other people to rely on actually showing.

I'd offer to mark but whoever I was marking for would need to give me their stuff by 2pm Eastern so I had it before work. So I probably shouldn't mark.
-
Not sure I could do that with any frequency since the computer's in the baby's room and I can't eactly bitch when she's asleep. Maybe on non-PPV weekends when Mommy's got her visitation rights.

Special guest alert. This Sunday at 5pm Eastern, thehistoryofwwe.com's Graham Cawthon will be my guest co-host. We'll be previewing SummerSlam and taking your calls for one full hour.

I'll come back to the previous queries in a bit. I find the 1950 mark a curious distinction. I have never seen any reference book use that point myself. There are generally three breaking points considered proper in baseball records. 1893, when the pitching mound was moved back ten feet, 1901, the modern game, and 1920, the beginning of the lively ball era. As for records, baseball was not as organized as it was today. Baseball had its stars but the bottom of the league was much worse. Many talented players would play in the unorganized minors, or perhaps in the Pacific Coast League. The sport of course was not integrated. As time passes, teams evolve to compete and the sport becomes more difficult to dominate. The disappearance of extremes in performance is often a sign the sport is getting stronger, not weaker. And as far as pitching records go, in the days of five man rotations and pitching specialists, pitchers simply don't pitch enough to set some of those records.

[brad Pitt]When I met the Chinese Dalai Lama it was all chocolate rivers and gumdrop shrubberies, but now things have gone all icky with that fake Tibetan Dalai Lama running around.[/brad Pitt]

What the bloody fuck was that shit in the beginning, Vince McMahon's next bad idea?

DQ.

Thanks to everyone who participated tonight in some manner. Currently in negotiations for a special guest next week.

Anybody have the Ventura-Putski match from the same show?

Less than a minute to showtime. (646) 478-5863 GO NOW!

It's a call-in show so we'll talk about anything wrestling (RepoMan's career record included). My main topic is a look at TNA after last week's PPV, but we'll go wherever the calls take us. Two and a half hours until showtime. Call in at (646) 478-5863 beginning at 6pm Eastern.

And under what guidelines (kayfabe-wise) does Joe deserve a rematch? If a champion had to grant a rematch after every screwjob defense, we'd see the same main event every month. Joe LOST and Angle is already set to move on to Abyss. From a kayfabe standpoint, Joe needs to earn another shot. But if he earns it, why should I want to see it when we've established Angle can beat Joe in title match?
-
You're full. Tuesdays and Sundays work best for a draft with me.
-
A cheap DQ would have continued to build the feud and kept Joe strong. This doesn't further the feud, makes Joe look like a moron, and alienates the entire fanbase. Explain to me, from a kayfabe standpoint, how I'm supposed to take Joe seriously as a title contender after that.
-
I'm supposed to be entertained by that? Mission failed. The live crowd's supposed to be entertained by that? Final angle aside, I heard "same old shit" chants twice last night during the undercard by the Orlando crowd, and they normally drink the Kool-Aid TNA feeds them and ask if there is any left for a second helping. And when Karen "turned" on Joe, up went the "Fire Russo" chants. They're alienating their core audience now, and free admission or not, there's only so far you can push the core audience before even they go, "Fuck this, I'm done."
-
Let me clarify something. I saw the main event "swerve" coming a mile away. I was getting so wrapped up in the final five minutes of the match that I forgot she was out there. Then they pissed me off. Nine matches, six non-clean finishes. On a show that people were supposed to pay 30 bucks for. This is why I watched a stream instead of paying for it.
-
Fuck TNA. Seriously, fuck TNA. If Joe had to lose tonight (and the only reason Angle's win should have even been considered is Angle held a title that isn't really a title), at least let it be clean. No, we get this fucking swerve cheap finish bullshit while they've spent two months preaching this "no glass ceiling in TNA" bullshit. And to top it off, Joe looks like he's a fucking idiot since he's the one who invited Karen Angle to the show. Fuck TNA.
