    WWE 24/7

Having watched the Boston Garden show this morning the thoughts occured to me during the Lanny Poffo-D.J. Peterson match: 1. Peterson had some talent and probably would have been a solid midcarder had he stuck around. 2. While Randy Savage was the more famous brother and could certainly work some fantastic matches, Lanny Poffo was actually the better athlete of the two. He did some shit that was just unheard of in the States at the time (a springboard somersault senton in 1988?), and had he been born ten years later he could have been the guy having classic upon classic with Rey Misterio Jr. and Dean Malenko in the WCW cruiserweight division.

"Robin Hood" episode? Can you explain please? Basically, TNT debuted some shittty Robin Hood series after Nitro that night, and to try to force people into watching it, they actually ended Nitro on time with the promise of "live" cut-ins to the Hogan-Giant match. The match lasted about eight minutes but was shown in such a way that the match appeared to people that didn't know any better to go like 45 minutes. I'm curious as to how they handle it when they get to it.

See, I'm not getting that MNW but I'm getting an old TNT. Hmm, which one would I rather spend my time watching...?

    oAo ECW on Sci-Fi -- 4/3/2007

Loved that main event last night. For about eight minutes it felt like 1997 again. Punk and Stevie also had a damn fine match. That's what this brand should have looked like from the get-go.

And why wasn't that just the stip for the WrestleMania 8-man tag in the first place?
  7. All I gotta say is if Lillian is 40, she's a damn good looking 40.

A bunch of old WW(W)F Tag Team Title changes this month, although it looks like they got a couple of the dates wrong again.

I came up with Edwards, and I didn't vote for him last time either. ::shrugs::

The next step: the school bans eating fish on Friday on school grounds and at home.

Mike Quackenbush to debut for ROH

I've been following the guy's career for like 15 years and I've still never seen him wrestle.
  13. Just a thought: Didn't Cryme Tyme win the number one contenders spot at NYR? And how many title matches have we seen without them so much as being on TV? Was there a house show title match I missed?
  14. If that's not top five, I don't know what is. There was also a shorter spinoff after he "did it" that deserves mention.

    "The Devil and Mr. Williams"

Nice! The veteran decides to come back and seemingly doesn't want any sort of push right away, and the guy in charge is seeing dollar signs instead of the big picture. Plus Danny fucking Williams is coming back! It's gold, baby!

    State of the SWF, 2007

Having been gone a few weeks and getting a chance to get in a clear head, a few things: 1. I agree with Toxx that myspace is a hell of an idea, as there is no limit as to how many people could potentially join, and it might lead to a revival of the JL and/or the ML in the future. 2. Feedback isn't normally an issue with me, because I've always had a sense of which matches were good and which weren't when I sent them in. The only time I really wanted feedback and didn't get it was the loss to Toxx in November because while his match was fantastic, so was mine. However, it needs to be given for newbies to help them improve, and markers need to be able to explain why they thought match A was better than match B if asked. 3. I support the thought of lowering word limits for Storm, especially for matches earlier in cards. I also support the idea of having a few "jobbers" on the active roster that are there solely for the newbies to get their feet wet with. For example: We get a message from "Joe Schmo" that says he likes the idea of the fed but don't know if it's for him. So instead of announcing "Joe Schmo vs. Matt Myers", we simply say "plus other SWF superstars". Joe Schmo then gets an e-mail/instant message with Matt Myers' stats included and is advised of a smaller word limit (say 2000 or 2500 words). This way, if Joe Schmo gets frustrated and decides not to show or that the SWF isn't for him, no harm no foul because we never advertised him on the shows. If he shows, then we've got a squash match to help fill out the shows and use to break up some of the upper card matches. 4. As far as booking goes. What I know right now is that I have to come back long enough to win the World Title, because simply put, that was the one goal I had when I came to the SWF two years ago and I haven't achieved that yet. But after that, hell, I ran an e-fed essentially solo for 6 years. I have no problem helping out with the creative end of things, especially if we get some new blood come hell or high water. 5. If it does come down to closing up shop, just give us one month's notice. Plenty of time to get most retirement angles taken care of, plenty of time to set up a kickass final show. Just don't call the show Genesis because it's just freaking silly for a word meaning "beginning" to be the name of a company's final PPV.

    Favorite MSG Matches

I'm glad somebody else remembers that one. I'm surprised the two Hogan-Flair matches are getting so much love, as they really aren't that special aside from the novelty at the time (particularly when one of them was at the same show as the Hart-DiBiase match mentioned here).

    Update on me

Hi. You've all probably wondered where I've been lately. The short version since the long version is gonna take forever: Basically, I got fired from my retail job about a month ago for "inappropriate behavior" (and to this day I've yet to find out what, exactly, was inappropriate), so internet access kinda became a secondary thing. I just started a new job last week, so I have the net again, but I'm in the process of moving to a new house next month so will have limited access until sometime after March 1. I am alive, but inactive until further notice.

    Update on me

I don't think so, in all honesty. It was seriously like "Can you remember anything you might have said to another associate in the last 30 to 60 days that might have offended somebody?" I went "I don't even remember what I said to my wife this morning, you're asking me to remember every conversation I had for two months?" My theory: I made more money than whoever filed the complaint so I lost. I don't know, they're not allowed to tell me who filed the complaint. I'm still looking into maybe finding a lawyer, but the job I've got now pays more anyway.
  25. No excuses from me. I just didn't write anything. Haven't figured out if I forgot or if I was just lazy. Tag team goodness should help though.
