  1. SmackDown from JHawk's Beak (6/17/2004) I could have simply wrote a review saying "This show sucked" and it would have done the trick, but for those of you who missed the show, here you go.

    Least appearances on PPV

Look at WCW SuperBrawl IV. You got Thunder & Lightning and Jungle Jim Steele.

    SmackDown from JHawk's Beak

Yup. Funaki could still be a viable cruiserweight if they actually have a shit about the division, plus the crowds always pop for him, which should be a benefit. I could probably agree with you on Spike since bumping's his strong suit, but apparently Kenzo Suzuki doesn't even have that kind of move in his offense. But at any rate, I'm going to hate a boring show more often than not, especially when the show is as promo heavy as last night's show was. Hell, even Paul Heyman's promo was boring as hell, and I'm a huge fan of Heyman on the mic. If I saw at least some effort to make the in-ring product worthwhile, I'd at least take a "wait and see" approach to it. Granted, but they could have at least had Haas come in to try to stop the double team and do something before going into the finish.

And here's Brian Pillman out to Def Leppard's "Rocket" But at least they didn't have Pillman singing his own theme song...and then making it his gimmick for three years. Koko B. Ware: "I'm gonna hurt Greg Valentine. ::singing:: Piledriver, ooo!"

    Last Comic Standing 2!

The bottom line about this entire thing is that the integrity of the show has come into question. The fact of the matter is that the producers were the ones who got people into the semifinals. Why have the celebrity judges when their decisions only count in the event of a unanimous decision? And how could the producers ignore a standing fucking ovation? Fuck the demographics of the house. The idea is to find the funniest comic in America. Put the funniest ten people in there and the hell with demographics. The entire reason I watch this show is because I want to be entertained, and putting less funny people on because they don't fit a demographic takes away my entertainment value.
  6. I vote for La Parka, just because outside of a birth that the writing team won't have the patience to make realistic, it's the furthest away from a "Russo" this storyline can get. Plus I'd mark out for it.

Weaver will beat the Yankees just because God likes it when Anglesault does that eye twitching thing.

    Lita vs. Trish

You're suggesting Lita has a brain. For shame Hawkster... Considering she didn't see the cameraman that was standing five feet away from her when she told Stacy her "secret", that's a hell of a point.

I'll let him vent because I know it won't do any good. Because the Marlins panicked when Beckett went on the DL. Simple as that.

    Lita vs. Trish

I would question why Lita would actually sign for a match, wrestle it, and then take the pregnancy test. Most women I know would actually take the pregnancy test before they did that type of strenous activity.

    This Week in Baseball

As annoying as Yankee fans tend to be, only Anglesault can be unsatisfied with having the best record in baseball. Hell, I have to watch my Indians lose two out of three to the fucking Mets because for some reason they refuse to reach the .500 mark, and you're bitching about one bad game. Are you seriously trying to convince me that the Yankees should be undefeated? Because everytime they lose, you claim they didn't try to win, and I know damn well that's not true.
  12. Jake was also heavily cheered in the heel vs. heel match with Randy Savage on SNME in November 1986.

Nails on a chalkboard. Let's file "Start Tanyon Sturtze" under "Never, ever again" Especially annoying when you're doing it out of habit and find out that the pitcher that you just took out has a better history against that particular hitter. Whatever happened to keeping somebody in because they were pitching well?

How many times has a cage match NOT been the ME

The thing to remember about WWF cage matches was that in the 70s and 80s, especially at house shows, they would be the main event but done in the middle of the show so they could announce next month's lineup without giving the finish of the main event away.

    Unexpected Title Wins

Umm....yeah. Such a shocker! Even though it was announced on Nitro three hours earlier! Yeah, but when that spoiler came out on Wednesday morning, the general consensus was "Holy shit!"

    ROH splits with RF Video

If the building's as hot as it was last year, you'll need that beer. And I doubt ROH makes much off the food. But why the hell does this shit get timed like this? The initial story broke about three days after I bought tickets for tomorrow's show (and unlike Dixie Chicks boycotters, I realized that I'd already spent my money so I might as well go), and now this comes out a day or two before that show. If any of the wrestlers walk (especially last minute like this), I'm demanding my money back, because it's a situation that was entirely under the control of the promoter.

    SmackDown from JHawk's Beak

Yeah, you're probably right, but I'm a sucker for detail. Did they give a name for Kenzo's finisher, or did Cole just call it something along the lines of "Japanese takedown"?

It says in the rules that if a part of the player's body is not inside the batter's box and gets hit by a pitch its a strike. Thus if Pierzynski did get hit it should have been called a strike. No ump follows that rule though. It's also in the rulebook that the batter has to make an attempt to move out of the way in order to get the base, but I've never seen that rule enforced either.

    Your Favorite ECW moments

It's the principle of the thing though. That was the moment the entire company had basically been built around for six years. Dreamer's that huge underdog that just can't quite win the big one, and when he finally gets the shot and wins the big one...we don't get to see anything before the celebration. I know people who watched that episode of ECW on TNN just to see Dreamer win the title...and never watched again when they didn't get to see it.

I'm not so sure about that, actually, because I'm pretty sure that match wasn't at Center Stage. I could be wrong. One more that I don't think we've seen yet. May 9, 1993 - WCW from Louisville Gardens in Louisville, KY Robby V (Rob Van Dam) beat Rip Rogers Chris Benoit beat Steve Regal Maxx Payne pinned Joey Maggs 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell beat The Wrecking Crew when Scorpio pinned Fury Van Hammer beat Vinnie Vegas NWA World Champion Barry Windham beat Erik Watts Unified NWA/WCW World Tag Team Champion Brian Pillman beat Ricky Steamboat 2 falls to 1. NOTE: The titles were on the line. This was scheduled to be Pillman and Steve Austin against Steamboat and Shane Douglas, but was changed to a singles match when Douglas left the company. The live crowd was told Douglas was injured and unable to compete. Pillman won the first and third falls. Sting/Dustin Rhodes beat Rick Rude/Paul Orndorff when Stinng pinned Orndorff Also, according to the September 1993 edition of PWI, the 5/14/1993 Alexandria, VA and 5/15/1993 shows had Maxx Payne beating Steven Dane in the second match of each show, with the 5/15 result being specifically listed as by submission.
