Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Lesse here... I won't put them in any order, just because the #3 spot is always switching around and multiple songs will come in at #5 depending on teh mood. And just because this list would consist of only two bands otherwise, I'll only allow one song per band. "Heroin" -- Velvet Underground Favorite song of all time. The lyrics are about heroin, sure, but you can apply them to life in general very effectively, if you think about it. The rise-and-fall of the pace of this song is Godly, and I never get tired of listening to it. "Gigantic" -- Pixies Top Pixies song, in my book. 'Where Is My Mind?' is only down from this by a hair, but Kim Deal's soft yet sandpaper voice adds so much. "Acrobat" -- U2 U2 has several songs on my top 10 list, but this is probably my personal favorite. 'The Fly' comes oh-so-close, but this just has an irresistable tune that never falters from being great. "Wish You Were Here" -- Pink Floyd The favorite tune of one Mr. Alexander Zenon... so I decided to take a look at it. Well, it stuck. "Give it Away" -- Red Hot Chili Peppers Eh, my favorite Chili Peppers tune is always switching around, but as of now, this is teh funkiest. Actually, my top 20 is always switching around, so it really just depends when you ask me... but meh.

Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Those are the only two I've heard from start to finish. I'm a Costello newbie, basically, and I need to pick up more stuff. I've been spinning the first two discs non stop for the past week.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Nothing wrong with that. I've finally warmed up to My Aim is True...and, as some long-timer TSMers might be amused to note, "Allison." I'm glad Kinetic isn't around.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Alison is a great song, and it's even better when you look at it from the perspective of the narrator contemplating killing Alison.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted August 5, 2003 I think the joke is that this is the five crappy songs from 5 good artists. That Phair song is kinda abysmal, and the Michael Jackson is off his most recent album, which blew. Zwan would be new wanky Pumpkins, though I myself do kinda dig that song.
