Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 So, has anyone else been listening to Wrestling Observer Live tonight? Meltzer has been ripping on Hogan all night...I love it when Dave gets worked up.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted August 5, 2002 do a rant on avril lavigne, you're gonna piss off alot no matter which side you take
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I'm not particularly interested in writing about wrestling, and there's enough people doing that, anyway. As for the music I do write about, I got the gig on the board as part of a plan Kinetic had about getting a number of new people to write about all sorts of music, but said plan appears to be going nowhere. It was too much of a hassle getting people accepted. Plus, I don't have a lot of confidence in other people to write consistently good stuff. I don't want to to be responsible for someone writing crap for the site. If I'd known you were going to exclusively write reviews of records I don't like...who's to say? Yeah, could you give me more artists, bands and/or albums you don't like? Two columns in, and I'm already running out of ideas. Follow your heart. I'm sure you'll come up with something I hate. Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I had a case of vertigo when I saw the spoilers up in the WWE folder. I was thinking "Shit, it's Sunday, right? I didn't miss Raw, did I?" I did the same thing
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I just want an excuse to use those Avril Lavigne lyrics I posted in the Music folder a few weeks back. Those were great.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 do a rant on avril lavigne, you're gonna piss off alot no matter which side you take Outside of waiting until she turns 18 so she can become shame-free masturbation fodder, I have no interest in Avril Lavigne. I'd trash Elvis Costello, but, sadly, I like the two albums of his I have.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I know you've got the last one. What other Costello do you have?

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 This Year's Model. I'm currently using a Spike reference for my subname, too. EDIT: This was addressed to Kinetic, duh.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 It's the weekend? I worked the whole time, so I hardly noticed. I finally have "Wrestling With Shadows" on tape, though, so it wasn't a total wash.
Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted August 5, 2002 you know "my aim is true" is a fairly trashable album considering all the praise it gets, especially with Rolling Stone saying it's the only Costello album you need to own.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I have "The Very Best of Elvis Costello & The Attractions" and I love it
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 <----------------- Seeing Elvis Costello when he swings through Orlando in November.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Personally, I think My Aim Is True is a lot better than This Year's Model. That's the Costello album that gets the most love from slightly hipper sources than "Rolling Stone" and I can almost see it. But then a lot of it is filler and the production has a weird quality that is a little off-putting to me. I can't even describe it...I just don't care for it. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Trish Stratus is online~! Some moron has warned her it seems. Maybe I should comfort her?
Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted August 5, 2002 "This Year's Model" deserves all the love it gets. I can't believe you guys bother with the italics tag every time you mention an album.

Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 It isn't that hard. And I'm pretty anal about things like that. Songs= quotations. Albums= italics. Anything else and I feel like I'm disappointing my legions of adoring fans.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted August 5, 2002 hey maybe they figured she be delivering ice cream instead of hanging around OLD JOKE!!! OLD JOKE!!!
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 "This Year's Model" deserves all the love it gets. I can't believe you guys bother with the italics tag every time you mention an album. Song titles use quotes; album titles are italicized. This is taught in high school. EDIT: Kinetic beat me to it.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Random Thought: I saw Austin Powers: Goldmember last night. It was pretty lame, but there was this woman sitting to the left of me that had one of the most irritating laughs I have ever had the misfortune to encounter, and, of course, she found the film hysterical. Imagine a female version of Beavis, except way more high-pitched. Not only was the laugh annoying, it also served, unintentionally, to emphasize just how unfunny some of the film's scenes were. I couldn't move away from her, as the auditorium was packed, so there was nothing I could do. It wasn't like she was just talking, in which I would have been justified in confronting her; it was only laughing. What could I do? Say to her, "STOP LAUGHING! IT'S NOT FUNNY!"
