That the show's producers seem satisified to put out episodes that merely exist rather than engage or entertain is much more disheartening than if the show became actively awful, like Family Guy. However, the internet folks seem to be the only one who have a problem with the current state of The Simpsons. The show still pulls decent ratings, so why listen to us? This is the exact opposite of WWE, in which online disapproval seems to parallel the ratings decline.

Unlike wrestling, where a similar argument could certainly be made, there's no chance of something really great--like a **** match--happening in the midst of all the garbage. The show has basically crossed the line to self-parody, which is sad considering how great it used to be. But, really. It's had a great run. Oh, and you're right about "Family Guy." That show is crap.
