Guest Retro Rob Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 You want "Hotline Client". My version is 1.8.4, but there are probably newer ones.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 If there's still a problem, AIM/MSN me, and I'll send you the client install.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I'll be uploading things as I can over the next few days. Right now uploaded a couple of the old nWo ads and some of that Flair/Steamboat lovin'. Will add more when I can.
Guest Kid Kablam Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 did anyone get a hold of Fire Pro G? DaClyde had it, but... well... sniff.... he's gone, so did anyone get Fire Pro G from him?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I've got it, yes. Server's down for a few hours, though.
Guest Idiot Hive Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 Can someone help me out and explain what exactly this codec stuff is, windows media player isnt playing the video gor some of my files do I need a new video player? someone explain?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 New rules. I hope somebody's reading this, because it's going to be important. My server will only be up from Monday to Friday. Starting at 12:01 am Monday, and closing down at 12:01 Saturday. There are a couple reasons for this. a) with a job (finally), I need sleep. Seeing as I'm an insomniac, and catch like two hours of sleep on weekdays, I've got to catch up on the weekends, and can't sleep with the noise. (My PC is loud. Very loud. However, I'll try to use the downtime to bring content I haven't had the time or cpu power to do while the server's running. Thanks, and apologies. -EPD
Guest Kid Kablam Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Ah that would explain plenty. Thanks for the message and thanks for running this cool server for us all. You rule.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Tuesday and the server is down. =/
Guest Joe_G Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I was able to access the server and download 2 matches (Tenryu/Mutoh and an Osaka Pro match). My question is...how do I view them? I tried opening them and I get an error message saying they're of an unknown format. Any help would be appreciated. Joe
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 1) I'm assuming it would've been the thunderstorm earlier that knocked my computer off. Seeing as I didn't get back here until after work..well..obviously. 2) You'll need the latest Windows Media Player.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Sorry, EPD. Didn't mean to sound upset. First time I've tried it in almost a week.
Guest Gary Busey Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Check out helms2.mpg in the upload folder. I have about 1.5 gigs of matches and major storylines from the second WCW Russo era, chopped down to the good spots. Since most of the era sucked, I would take the best matches and segments and slice and dice them to nice chunks that (usually) wouldn't include the crap. Should I upload it all? I'm a big fan, as I'm guessing most of you are, of full matches, but I don't have any. I had limited harddrive space at the time, so I would edit it down. If this stuff isn't wanted, I don't want to waste my time. The early videos had small disolves and swipes and stuff, and my logo at the start of the video-- I had just gotten my capture card and used wrestling as practice. As the quality of the shows went downhill, I said "screw it" and just vidcapped. I emailed Diablo but never heard back, I'm guessing he's busy. By the way, I can't communicate very well on the server since I'm using Zombie HL on OSX, and the program doesn't support news reading and what not yet-- It's basically just download/upload at this point since the program is so new. Tell me your love/hatred for match clips in this post. Also, I timeout a lot- is that normal? In closing: love the server. I caught some TNA matches and WOW! I can't get PPV here since I refuse to upgrade to digital cable, so thanks to Diablo I'm a NWA TNA fan.
Guest Flyboy Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I emailed Diablo but never heard back, I'm guessing he's busy. You can reach him on AIM at FadingDragon K or at MSN at [email protected] Try that. And upload those matches!
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Two questions for Diablo: First question: (nevermind this question. I found other stuff to upload anyway) EDIT Oh yeah.. My second question, forgot. What kind of connection do you have? I'm curious as I myself don't have a wonderful connection but don't know what 's really good for a Hotline server. I DO have a 110GB RAID array that usually has 80-some gigs free.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Uploaded a buncha stuff: Eddie Guererro vs Syxx in a Ladder Match (Souled Out '97. AKA the only NWO PPV to ever exist... Complete with announcers putting over X-Pac as some kind of athletic kung-fu genius! No really!) Best of Raw: Volume 2 (I have volume 1, but it's 600-some megs ) Chris Benoit vs Dean Malenko (Hog Wild 96. Currently uploading it as I write this) Edge vs Christian (Steel Cage, Rebellion 2001 [mis-labelled as 2002. Oops!]) HHH is squashed by the Ultimate Warrior (Pedigree no-sold. Hah!) RVD vs Mr Perfect Thanks again for the server
Guest Flyboy Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 EDIT Oh yeah.. My second question, forgot. What kind of connection do you have? I'm curious as I myself don't have a wonderful connection but don't know what 's really good for a Hotline server. I DO have a 110GB RAID array that usually has 80-some gigs free. He has a cable connection.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 BAH! 80 gig free? o_o I have a puny little 12 gig hard drive, with 1 gig free if I'm lucky. Getting a new one soon, I hope.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 BAH! 80 gig free? o_o Currently 13.9 gigs used, 97.8 gigs free. It's my System drive though, which means it occasionally gets reformatted. It's also three drives hooked together, so that every file is written equally across all three (which means that things like video streaming is better-looking because the drives are writing information together as fast as the mobo can send it.) But it also means if one drive dies the information on the other two are no good and need to be erased. So if I ran a server I'd be burning stuff to CD like a madman. Luckily I also have a 40x CD burner here too. Too bad CDs that say 32x can only burn reliably at 24x though. It's also too bad I only get 128kbps upload.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Thank god for this 40x writer. Otherwise I'd be screwed, with this small HD. I've had no problems burning stuff at the full 40x, thankfully.
Guest Marshall Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 Is the server down? It wont work.
Chunk Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 how do you access your server? i cant find the flyboy guide you were talking about? ChUnK!
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 The Connection keeps timing out waiting for remote host
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Important notice. It's down. It's going to be down. I don't know when it'll be back up. I hate to back out on everbody like this, but things just hit the wall. As I won't be here, neither will it. Apologies.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 oh. Thanks for the notice. That should save me the time of trying a couple times a day. Now all I need to do is find out what's wrong with the other 2
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Hey El Psycho Diablo do you know when the server will be back up yet because ive got some kick ass matches I can upload.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 I don't know when it'll be back up. I don't think he does, Guitair
