As for increasing anger, I'll admit, it does do that...it makes me angry that I wasted 15 bucks on that shit. ...and as far as the "metal vs nu-metal" categorization, does it matter what the band claims they are? Limp Bizkit claims they're metal....Linkin Park claims they're a rock group, but we all know they're the world's heaviest boy-band....shit, Tenacious D claims that they're "acoustic metal". So what does it matter what the band says they are? If you know it's bullshit, then what's the point of arguing with some angry 14-year-old who thinks that janitor costumes are sooper kewl dood? I have no problem with making bad music to please yourself - hell, I do lame blues/pentatonic rip-off "solos" all the time for kicks when I'm by myself. But that's the key, I'm BY MYSELF! Nez, metal is only relative to certain extents, and even then it's only for the borderline bands (Rob Zombie comes to mind immediately, as well as Gwar). Converge is metalcore, which is a blend of hardcore and metal. And no, hardcore did not come from metal. Hardcore came from punk, albeit thrash metal did have an influence on the overall sub-genre. As for the entire "who cares" statement, well...if I started calling P. Diddy a rock singer, would it matter? Get the point? And evenflowDDT, a hoodie is a hooded sweatshirt. If so, that might be the way to go. I like Slipknot and I (get that... I!!!!) consider them metal. Dave Brokie Experience played at this shitty music store in Muncie, Indiana called FN Music. Place is about half the size of your local 7-11, if that. TINY ass place. Anyway, it was DBX, The Urinal Mints, Forge, and a couple other local acts. They pretty much dicked around the whole time with everybody before the show, which was probably about 40 people, tops. so damn fun. he was actually making fun of Slipknot, which about gave me a fucking brainerrism I was laughing so hard. He quoted something Corey from slipknot said in Metal Edge or some shit about how hot the masks were, then he was all "fuck that, do you know how many times i've almost DIED from heat exhaustion with GWAR?" then he went on talking about getting IVs to replace lost fluids after shows and shit. really good stories. DBX tore it up, and a couple buddies and I kept hollering for them to play some X-cops shit, which resulted in Paddy Wagon Rape, My Third Leg, and You Fucked Up. He sat around and yakked with anyone who would listen for about 2 hours before they played. tour details, some GWAR stuff, some X-cops stuff, DBX stuff. they were all drinking like demons the whole time they were there, too. cool motherfuckers. Have you ever noticed that the only thing they showcase in there songs is Corey screaming? The rareley is ever even pause so you can listen to the music. And, the whole "they're playing to please themselves" thing... Come on. They haven't been playing for themselves since the CEO of their record company took control of the members, gave them costumes and told them what kind of music they should be playing.
