PROMO (Stubby P. McWeed);

"Boom.

--------------------------------------------------------

SWF Ground Zero

Theme Music: “Let’s start a war” by the Exploited.

Date: July 28, 2002.

Arena: The Key Arena is Seattle, Washington!

Due date: July 28, 2002 at 12PM (noon) board time.

4-WAY ICTV TITLE #1 CONTERSHIP MATCH

Fallout vs. Lerrin Breggan vs. Chris Raynor vs. Spider Nekura

- These four talented grapplers will face off this Sunday for a shot at whoever the champion may be after the night is through!

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are in effect. All 4 men are allowed in the ring at once and the first to score a pinfall, submission or knockout is the winner.

Send to: HVilleThugg

ULTIMATE SUBMISSIONS MATCH FOR THE SWF LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

El Luchadore Magnifico © vs. Tom Flesher

- Despite their stables being allies, these two just can’t get along. Magnifico wanted this match badly and so challenged Flesher to a match the Clan member would have an advantage at (a submissions match) in order to get Flesher to accept. Will Flesher’s superior submissions skills get him the win, or does Magnifico have something up his sleeve?

Match Description – DQ and count-out rules are in effect. The match will last for 30 minutes. The man who scores the greatest number of submissions before the time runs out is the winner. DQs and count-outs don't count as falls, but if one of the wrestlers gets counted out or disqualified a fall will be subtracted from their total.

Send to: Suicide King

SWF HARDCORE TITLE MATCH

Jay Dawg vs. ???

- Ash Ketchum was set to face Jay Dawg for his hardcore title, but with Ash on the injured list another member of X Force-9 is being allowed to step in and challenge Dawg. Who’s it gonna’ be?

Match Description – Regular DQ and count-out rules are not in effect. Submissions, pinfalls and knockouts count anywhere within the arena.

Send to: HVilleThugg

SWF TAG TEAM #1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH

Longdogger Pete & Tod deKindes vs. “TNT” Taylor Nicholas Thompson & Frost

- TNT and Frost came extremely close to defeating the current Carnie tag champs about a week ago, but if they want another shot at those belts they’ll have to beat the formidable X Force-9 team of Longdogger Pete and Tod deKindes!

Send to: Suicide King

STREETFIGHT FOR THE SWF ICTV TITLE

Erek Taylor © vs. The Boston Strangler

- The animosity has been building up between these two for a while, but the their feud really kicked into high gear when Erek Taylor cost Strangler a shot at the SWF heavyweight title. This Sunday these two will take it to the streets with the ICTV belt on the line!

Match Description – Regular DQ and count-out rules are not in effect. Submissions, pinfalls and knockouts count absolutely anywhere (even outside the arena).

Send to: BA_Baracus

WARGAMES

Edwin MacPhisto, El Luchadore Magnifico, Chris Raynor, Z & Thoth vs. Chris Wilson, Danny Williams, Outcast, “TNT” Taylor Nicholas Thompson & Frost

- What started as a feud between SWF champion Edwin MacPhisto and Chris Wilson has exploded into a league wide battle between Wilson’s Magnificent 7 and Edwin’s Midnight Carnival. This war has become so heated in fact, that MacPhisto has been forced to ally with former bitter rivals from the Clan. This match, which pits five of the best from Carnival/Clan against five of the best from the Magnificent 7 should be absolutely brutal, but will it mark the end of this battle or merely the beginning of the next chapter?

Match Description – 2 regular sized rings will be surrounded by a cell. There will be a 5 or 6 foot space between the wall of the cage and the edges of the 2 rings. The cell will be about 20 feet high and the top of the cage will be covered. The first team to force a member of the opposite team to submit is the winner. 2 men will start inside the cell and wrestle for 5 minutes, upon which a 3rd man will be introduced into the match. From there a new man will be introduced every 2 minutes.

Hmm...looks excellent, but I really did want my match to be no DQ, no count-out. Ah well. Does that mean disqaulifications and count-outs count as falls, too?

*can't wait for Wargames...*

Nifty card. This PPV is so going to freaking rule.

And Stubby, you might want to edit in the part about two men in for five minutes, then somebody else every two minutes thereafter. That's kinda an interesting little part.

Good card, again, and I'm off to read Smarkdown.

Well, at least we both remember that there's the entrance time deal, Wilson. I forget how long it usually is in Wargames, so if you get a chance to look it up today, let me know. We'll go over all the mechanics this afternoon/evening.

Altogether a superb, superb card. All the feud-matches have big, adequate blow-off type events. This is also the first time we've contendership matches on the big show in a long time!

This is going to be one of the best PPVs we've ever had, I imagine; the build to just about all these matches has been tremendous, and on paper every one looks like it could steal the show. I'm really pleased that several members of the Carnival and M7 teams were able to fit into other matches besides Wargames--altogether, it just looks great.

/me takes credit for explaining the WarGames concept to Eddie Mac. ...after he asked for it, of course. And after I reminded him that WarGames was NOT a triple-cage match. WarGames? Triple cage match!? Ya' yutz. :P

Anyway, yes, you wouldn't want to not have the time periods before people enter the match not noted, as it's kind of the booking mecanics for the match and all. Without it, it'd just be a ten man Hell in the Cell. With two rings. And a really, really big cell. ...yeah.

Um, anyway, rambling aside, this does look like another blowaway card. We've had a string of fabulous PPV's since coming to the Smark Mark's Board. Hell, I'd go as far as saying that Snake Eyes was our worst effort since switching over. Now *that's* saying something.

And just a note on what Edwin was saying: I dunno... even with Flesher/ELM and TBS/Taylor, both of which have gotten a seriously hard sell, I'm seeing this as more a set-up PPV. Y'know, the kind that has great matches to seemingly end feuds, but only really gets them started for the long-term? But, hey, I'm even reading WarGames that way, so it's probably just me...

Anyway, gargantuanly spledifious card. Looks like another Summer Of <3 in the SWF...

-Z

And now, after taking three days to correct my sleep cycle, and only ONE to screw it up, I'm going to be. At nearly 7am. Arrrgh.

Very tasty card, several sure to be great matches, and particularly the main event should be dynamite.

I'll certainly be looking forward to reading this PPV, and i don't have to worry about writing 10,000 something words for it this time. (Y) @ not having to do anything.

Nice card. There's just one thing I have to point out.

For the TBS/Erek match, there was also an extra stipulation: No M7 members are allowed to interfere or TBS will lose.

Not to be a bitch and all, but.....

Other than that, it looks like splendid card.

The cell will be about 20 feet high and the top of the cage will be covered.

Sheesh. TWENTY feet? In normal War Games matches, the cage was short enough for Sting to bench press a guy into the ceiling over and over...

We're anything but normal.

Besides, Frost is really tall anyway.

/me takes credit [along with Frost] for actually even thinking of doing a War Games match, in the JL. We pitched it to Edwin and he said yes, but then we got bumped, and forgot about it, and then Edwin reminded us that we should still use the idea....which led to him and Wilson figuring out that NOW would be a good time, which led to me owningz j00z all...*cough*

Oh, and there WAS a triple cage War Games match, ya' yutz. :P

/me takes credit for bumping you all in the first place...bwahahaha!

Now you get to live your dream. It's almost like going to Disney world, except you have to make Mickey's fat mousy ass tap out instead of sign your little autograph book.

What does anyone think of taking Raynor out of the 4-way and throwing Renegade in? He has no match and Raynor's not writing.

"Sheesh...it's the complain about stip descriptions-o-rama!

Could someone clarify the 2 minute thing in the Wargames match for me?

I'll fix the rest of the stuff.

What I learned from Z, Stubby, is this: the match starts with one guy from each team. It's one-on-one for 5 minutes, and then the third wrestler enters. 2 minutes later, the next wrestler from the other team enters. 2 minutes later...and so on.

One wrestler at a time, every 2 minutes after the first 5. Not too tricky. Our teams have already got it sorted.

Edwin: I thought that it was one-on-one for five minutes, then a coin was flipped. If it was heads, team A gets to send in their wrestler, if tails, Team B. Then they alternated like that every two minutes until everyone was in the ring, at which point it became first-submission-wins.

- Mike Van Siclen.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Don't forget, the heel team always won the (rigged) coin toss.

Word dawg. Exactly right. Also, don't forget that there are two rings, and each team enters a different door. One door in each ring. So that the teams don't wait to enter right next to eachother...

---Well, my diagram fucked up anyway, so I just deleted it.---

Um...that's where the entrances should be. Also, it's not a DQ to exit the cages or anything, but to my knowledge you can't submit/surrender outside of the cage.

Another note: in-character-wise...remember, the WRESTLERS get to pick who enters when. So, your order of entrance should be generally the order that the wrestlers would logically pick. ELM isn't gonna realistically be chosen to start the match off for example, as his stamina, strength, and vitality is relatively low.

EDIT: Fuck, my diagram was screwed up. NO!

Who says Raynor's not writing for the first match?

And how do you know Renegade isn't appearing elsewhere in the show?

Question, for the 4 way, is it possible to have someone or 2 people get counted out, and still have the match continue?

Ahh... Ground Zero my old friend. One year since my best match. Time flies.

Awesome card - I think the Taylor/Strangler match could be the biggest surprise of the night.

On the Wargames issue: Wilson and I wanted to do the coin toss earlier in the show to build some drama, make it a real ceremony.

But don't worry--we're sticking to everything else. BRUTALLLLLLLITY!!!
