Is it safe to say Jeff Garcia is a bust? this is the 2nd week I lost the game because of him!!! well I picked up Jaugars and Redskins starters for insurance. Garcia will ride the bench until the 49ers produce more than 1 TD a week

Garcia's problem is finding a 'groove' so to speak, he looked sluggish in preseason and really hasn't been able to get it going so far this season. Once he gets going and finds that 'groove' and connect on more pass plays with Terrell Owens, then he should be able to put up the numbers that everyone expects from him.

I wouldn't exactly say it is safe to call him a "bust" just yet, it's only the 2nd week of the season, that is way too early.

If not him, then perhaps Moe Williams from the Vikings? He might end up taking Michael Bennett's starting job from him, from what I heard he had more of an impact in the game than Bennett did...

Minnesota is still running back by commitee, but at this time it would seem that Moe Williams will get the majority of carries.

I'll give Moe a shot, shouldn't hurt too much, if it doesn't work, then I'll have to try and find something else.

Also at WR, I have Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, I picked up Donte' Stallworth and Donald Hayes in place of Santana Moss and Marcus Robinson since they seem more likely to get more passes thrown their way, and I am considering trying to trade for Peerless Price, who would be best to trade for Price if I were to do this?

How are you at reciever?

The thing about Thomas Jones is, in reality, he probably isn't even good enough to be starting. He ran over the Seahawks, but everyone runs over the Seahawks, they fucking blow.

The problem is Wheatly and Rimerisma also fucking blow. So basically, if you need help at reciever, take Keyshawn. If you don't, don't bother. But this is definatly the week to trade Jones, because for 6 glorious days, every one will forget what a worthless turd log he really is.

Rimerisma isn't that bad with Bledsoe around. Whetley probably won't help you much, but Oakland said they were planning on getting him reinvolved with the game plan this year so i guess there's hope.

So if you need a WR and a decent backup TE then make the trade.

If i was you i'd shop him around and see if i could get any better offers.

Hayes if the person will take him. However it may take giving up Donte since he's one of the players that's coming up in fantasy talk now. If it takes Donte to get Price then do it. Price is an legit starter and will get catches and Donte is the 3rd WR so if Saints play a good defense he could disappear.

Actaully a package of Hayes and Donte would still be a good trade for you. No Patriots WR is going to get consistent good numbers because of how NE spreads the ball around to 7-10 receivers so you could grab another wR to replace Hayes.

Hayes and Donte for Price would give you a great backup and good starter for two guys that will be inconsistent. There's no reason not to do that.

I lost by 7 points this week

Didn't help that I was playing against Rich Gannon & Darrell Jackson (10+ catches, 170+ yds.)

My defense (Patriots) got me my 2nd highest point total for the week.

But there's also a good chance that Jones will just go back to being nothing. So if you get a good offer for him don't pass it up. However don't just give him away just in case he's finally found his NFL career.

*Prediction*

September 17, 2004.

Thomas Jones is out of football.

(I'm a Bears fan, I'm very familiar with Enis syndrome, and this guy's got it)

I certainly wouldn't rule out that WR package you come up with.

Would trading Keyshawn be a better option? I have thought about trading Keyshawn to get Price, but, I dunno... still thinking of all the possibilities.

If you could trade Keyshawn and Stallworth for Price and a good back up rb or wr i'd strongly consider it.

The only wr on your team that you shouldn't even shop would be Owens. Even with the current struggles 49ers are having. However he's still expendable if you got a really great offer, but i'd want at least a wr and rb who are starters for Owens.

I'm gonna look at my options about trading for Price.

You are right though El Satanico, the only WR I shouldn't shop around is Owens. I won't even shop him around anyways. I've shot down four trades for him in the last two months. One of which was Randy Moss for Terrell Owens straight up. Owens is my favorite WR, and when he has a big game, I'd want him on my team.

The guy who I would be trading Price with has six WRs, he was the guy I traded Jimmy Smith to before week two.

He has Eric Moulds, Peerless Price, Hines Ward, Jimmy Smith, D'Wayne Bates, Joe Jurevicius.

Which other WR could I throw in as a good possible #3 WR or backup?

Edited to include other possibilities.

In one of my leagues someone just offered me Joe Horn for Moe Williams. He says e needs a RB eventhough he has Stephen Davis and Tomlinson. Don't understand it, but i'll take it.

Well i made a counter offer. He's been bitching about Jeff Garcia so i offered him Gannon and Moe Williams for Garcia and Horn.

I would keep Gannon, he may be old but still puts up good numbers and has more than one option to throw to unlike Garcia only has Owens and maybe the RB.

Garcia has Terrell Owens, JJ Stokes, Tai Streets, Eric Johnson, Garrison Hearst, Kevan Barlow and Fred Beasley to throw the ball to. Garcia has plenty of options for passing, it's just all a matter of how much time he has to pass, and whether or not he can throw the ball to his recievers.

Well i have Rich Gannon and Aaron Brooks now. I'm not putting up Gannon because I think he isn't good. It's just that Garcia is a top 5 qb and is just having some struggles that will likely be corrected.

Besides with Aaron Brooks also on my team i have the flexibilty to give up a solid starter in Gannon for a potentially great starter in Garcia. And if Garcia continues to struggle all season i'd still have a solid starter with Brooks.

well it looks like the league has figured out how to counter the 49ers offense, and Owens being the ultra egomaniac thinks he should have 2000 yard season. Well it is still early but Gannon has produced more than Garcia has and that is what I am looking at, I will not consider the potential until Garcia can throw more than 2 TDs in a game.

I think that Gannon was one of the premier QBs last season and should be a keeper.

This is barely the third week of the season as you pointed out. Garcia has had two bad games whereas Rich Gannon has had two good games.

Garcia hasn't found his groove yet as far as passing goes. Sooner or later he'll end up breaking out and performing up to his capabilities and throw more than two TDs a game.

The league may have found a way to counter the 49ers offense, but, whether or not they can keep it up is a whole different story.

And how exactly is Terrell Owens an "ultra-egomaniac" just because he feels he should have 2000 receving yards this season? There is nothing wrong with that at all. Just shows he wants to get involved more, after all, 2000 recieving yards means more involvement, to an extent. If you want ego, look at Randy Moss.

Owens isn't this big egomaniac monster that everyone labels him. He may too competitive, but since when is that a bad thing? He hates losing and he just happens to be a very vocal person which is where he gets the bad rap from.

I can see how he could easily rub people the wrong way, but the media overreacted and made him look like some horrible man that he isn't.

And this "Garcia has had two bad games oh my god his career is dead" mentality is what i'm hoping on to get me Garcia. Blah to playing it safe and keeping old reliable Gannon just because Garcia has gotten off to a slow start. Besides what do i have to lose since i'd still have Aaron Brooks on my team.

However ast a checked my offer wasn't on the trades list so it's probably declined. Eh, if nothing else i'll just make the Moe Williams for Joe Horn trade.

I'd throw to the cheerleaders before I'd throw to Stokes, Streets, or Beasly.

Terrell Owens = Randy Moss they are the same type of player.

Owens is probably the only player in the league that had 100+ receptions and still thinks he is not playing enough.

its very easy to beat the 49ers as all you have to do is triple team Owens as nobody else on the team can catch the ball. At least the Vikings can now run the ball will Moe, too bad Barlow does not get to run the ball as much, he has so much potential but Owens is holding him down.

Well i ended up falling back on the Joe Horn for Moe Williams.

A good trade i think as i got one of the top wrs for a rb who could easily just be a one hit wonder.

Now i have 5 good wrs with Horn, Booker, Price, Chambers and Tim Brown. I'm shopping Tim Brown and Chris Chambers around to try and get me back a fourth RB for one of them.

Just bumping the thread to say that I *FINALLY* snuck in to the lead in my USA Today division. If I hold this position, it's $600. I could use the money ...
