RVD NEEDS A Run with the Undisputed...

I went to a house show at Trenton yesterday. RVD/Jericho was the ME. RVD got the biggest pop of the night. (The entire section knew all the words to his song and screamed R-V-D with him like 40 times.) Wrestled a great match with Jericho, and then jawed witht he front row fans.

 

Why doesn't he have the belt. The WWE hasn't had a combination of workrate/overness/injury resistant/good on the mic/ since HBK. If it's because of office poliitics, then I think the WWE should ask themselves what's REALLY important: Thier egos, or the good of the comapany.

I completely agree! The thing is im torn between wanting RVD to take the title from brock, and brock keeping it for a decent amount of time to restore some prestige to the belt!

 

How about RVD winning it at WrestleMania 19?? Sounds good to me

Anglesault is right... the WWE wants to be that number one face. While RVD is already that with no help from the WWE at all. He didn't have to make Angle shave bald to get huge ass pops.

 

Right now, Angle should have the title. He has the wrestling skills, the heat, the mic skills. He should be the heel champion, they're wanting.

 

RVD should have the chase of going after Angle. Why? Because he has the skills to entertain the crowd (notice I didn't say WRESTLING skills), the pops, and when needed the 'mic skills'. RVD isn't a WWE-homegrown boy.. that helps him suffer, too.

 

It's so easy... yet... so hard for the WWE to see this. Or maybe they DO see it, but they don't want it that way.

Maybe if he shows he can sway away from his spotty, and blotchy offense - then he'd be ready. RVD is a guy who can look awesome one night, than terrible the next. The aforementioned guys always look good

Eddie isn't going to ever get the Undisputed Title. I've learned to live with it.

 

Benoit needs to develop a personality before he gets the title. Because as of now, Benoit isn't anything to me. Great wrestler/worker, yes, but other than that.... meh.

And maybe in "Smart" fans eyes his matches aren't good, but to marks he puts on the most exciting matches week in and week out.

 

Believe me, marks care MUCH more about RVD than they do about Benoit and Eddie.

Y'know, when you're facing a green rookie (Lesnar) or a big fat ass with no talent anyway (Big Show), I doubt the match will be good no matter how good you are.

 

Otherwise, RVD hasn't had that many bad matches beyond those. At least, in my opinion.

Angle is a heel, Van Dam is a face, they can trade the title and we're both happy.

 

He may not be a "technical wrestler' but neither was Shawn Michaels. RVD is an athlete, pure and simple.

Benoit can actually be very good on the mic, when he doesn't have to talk about "Squealing".

Benoit is.. a great wrestler. When he faced Rock where he "won" the title twice... he had Shane with him.

 

Now... this brings up the question.. who were the fans boo'ing... Shane or Benoit? Hmmmm....

 

Now, Benoit is on his own pretty much... and what happens when the Crippler comes out?

I love smark bias. I do, I do, I do.

 

So Benoit, Angle, Eddy, and Edge deserve the title more than RVD does.

 

Angle: I have no problem with. The guy is a "total package" to rip a line off.

Benoit: Lacks the charisma and character development skills to be anything except a "killer".

Eddy: Hate to say it, but he'd probably have the "Jericho Problem". (Too short)

Edge: No real character ability except for being "goofy". Spear-happy moveset.

RVD: The most over of the bunch. While his offense may not be "technically sound" but he gets the crowd excited. That should be the KEY requirement for a person to hold the belt. His promos aren't overdone like The Rock's, or monotone like Benoit's. He just sounds like a normal guy. That makes him easy to identify with..and cheer for.

 

Good matches aren't necessarily a requirement for being a main eventer. God knows Hogan, Rock, and Austin aren't the most technical guys. However, they have the charisma about them that make them seem larger than life. Angle has it, and so does RVD. I hate to say it, but none of the other guys do.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to put the belt on a guy people react to? (Angle/RVD). This may sound off, but Benoit isn't as over to the average fan as he is here. Want to bet?
