Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Some notes from the Hall of Fame issue of the Wrestling Observer: There was some controversy surrounding Rock after SS. He was booked to appear on RAW as there was an agreement between Rock, Vince and Brian Gerwitz for Rock to appear. There were complaints that it would ruin the brand extention for Rock to appear on RAW. But Rock eventually decided on his own not to appear on the show. Meltzer confirmed that Triple H v. RVD for the IC title is one of the planned programs for RAW. But he also says that Lesnar v. Kane is planned, which makes no sense with Lesnar exclusively on Smackdown. In his review of the Jericho/Flair match he says that Flair went over clean to set-up a rematch where Jericho would go over clean. And some Test notes. Test might take some time off to have some cosmetic surgery similar to what Rock had a few years back. Test has also hired an agent and is attempting to pursue some acting roles. That last sentence is NOT a joke. Shelton Benjamin was set to "debut" on RAW but they decided to hold off until they had a specific role in mind for him. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Yeah, HHH/RVD Test an actor? Oh Jesus, lay off the steroids kid. I'm glad Benjamin didn't debut. Its good that they are actually thinking of a character for him, rather than just throwing him out ALA John Cena.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2002 at least that keeps triple h out of the title race, meaning brock may get angle in a feud.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 31, 2002 at least that keeps triple h out of the title race, meaning brock may get angle in a feud. Did you see Smackdown!? The next feud for Brock appears to be the Undertaker... maybe Kurt after that, but not now.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Maybe just maybe HHH has decided to help out the company in the long run by elevating RVD...maybe not. Seriously, imagine the first time RVD busts HHH open with one of those kicks!I mean, chances are he can't miss his nose. Back to lower mid-card for you, son. Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 31, 2002 "Test might take some time off to have some cosmetic surgery similar to what Rock had a few years back." Time to fix the bitch tits. "Test has also hired an agent and is attempting to pursue some acting roles." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA When it comes to RVD/HHH I already resigned myself to the fact that HHH had to take care of business so I am am not shocked. As for Jericho WHY IS HE FEUDING WITH A 54 YEAR OLD IN THE FIRST PLACE? They should not have to worrying about balancing wins to keep a feud going because there is no excuse for Jericho doing anything but squashing Flair. Do you think they will at least have Flair tap clean for Jericho or is he going to have to have the National Guard do a run-in?
Guest Leena Report post Posted August 31, 2002 And some Test notes. Test might take some time off to have some cosmetic surgery similar to what Rock had a few years back. Test has also hired an agent and is attempting to pursue some acting roles. Does this mean Test will wear the ugly nose protector again? I would think if RVD faces HHH for the IC title, that RVD would retain. HHH is far too big for that lowly title. Cheer up, guys. Any form of win over HHH is like the ultimate prize in WWE nowadays. Why UNDERTAKER???? hes been the champ once and theres so many other gys that would be better to feud with brock than undertaker! WHY?, why?, wwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Any form of win over HHH is like the ultimate prize in WWE nowadays. That is what we thought when he took it from Jericho last year just to pointlessly bury him more. He will take the title then lay down in a fluke for someone who is no threat to move up to the ME in the near future then destroy them in a future non-title match or a title match where he gets DQ'ed this way he takes RVDs belt, gives up the belt to a nobody and keeps his heat. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I knew RVD/HHH was coming, too... I'm not shocked. I just didn't WANT it to happen. If RVD retains then it will be only by a margin, but if HHH lays down for RVD... that's cool. Although, it probably won't be clean... and sets up the dreaded RVD/HHH feud to take us into Unforgiven. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 31, 2002 because Taker is a "locker room leader" Anyway from what I hear Taker's wife is pregnant, so the big question is this: Who will put over Mean Mark Jr. first? I reckon DDP will come out of retirement to take an ass kicking from the kid, when he is about 2 or something. The Sara will kick his ass too...oh wait...that already happened. Boy, does the Undertaker suck.

Chunk 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I dont get it? Just because taker is a locker room leader, that doesnt mean that there a still a number of guys that could have more entertaining title feuds than he could? With the triple H thing, why are they so intent on making HHH look so good. Fair enough, i understand the thing with Steph, but Vince always struck me as someone who loves money, and so surely he can see that its a good thing to push RVD?? ChUnK! Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 31, 2002 It's bullshit. Vince created Taker and he probably thinks he still has it. Lets face it, he doesn't draw, and he sucks in the ring. His is over with the crowd, and the WWF/E has created this "legend" hype around him, so he could be useful in a mid-card role where he puts the younger guys over. Unfortunately, thats not they way it is.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 31, 2002 More than making money though Vince likes to look good. RVD is not a WWF product and as stupid as that sounds I would bet good money that is why they are force feeding Lesnar instead of pushing RVD, Benoit, Guerrero, Jericho, Booker The only people to get a consistent push lately UT, HHH, Edge, and Lesnar either WWF entirely or did nothing in WCW. Angle god only knowswhy he isn't pushed he is a WWF product. Probably because he is over in spite of the bookers and they don't like it.

Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted August 31, 2002 This might sound goofy but I think RVD facing HHH IS their way of pushing RVD. I mean take a look at the Raw roster. There's not a whole lot of guys for either man to face at this point. Everyone is either totally unover or was over and has been buried. I'd rather Booker fight HHH because he has less credibility to destroy than RVD. I actually think RVD/HHH could be a good feud if it is booked fairly evenly. I think having Michaels in RVD's corner would be great here.

JasonX 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2002 at least that keeps triple h out of the title race, meaning brock may get angle in a feud. Did you see Smackdown!? The next feud for Brock appears to be the Undertaker... maybe Kurt after that, but not now. Doubt that we'll get Angle/Lesner any time soon. It's the one big money match that they can do and I doubt that they will hotshot it especially if the end result of the angle is to get Kurt super-over as the babyface slayer of the Brock Lesner monster heel. But given how we have UT/Brock on the horizon, I can imagine that HHH is waiting in the wings to see the match/Sept PPV bomb so he can swoop down and kill Brock's push/win the title ala Nash/Golberg. Squashing RVD can be considered the equivilant of Nash squashing Wrath on Nitro in the fall of 1998, though RVD will probably survive better than Jericho and Angle did when HHH buried them. The best thing for every in the WWE is to do Brock/Kane in Sept and do a big #1 contender match tween HHH and UT for the next PPV title shot. The WWF desperately needs to get their gameplan organized what direction they are going to be going in for the months leading up to WM 19 given how the general plan seems to be Brock having a long ass title reign. They need to decide if Angle or RVD will be the one who defeats Brock as well as lining up the HHHs and UTs up for jobbing duties in order to build Brock up and keeping the political bullshit from overriding the plan so that we don't have to worry about the WWE deciding to abort Brock's reign or take away RVD/Angle/whoever's WM title shot so as to give the ball to HHH or UT or if they sign/come back Golberg and Austin.... Angle survived pretty well. He's got enough credibility to be considered a threat for the title by the fans every time he gets a shot. Jericho, on the other hand, has nothing now. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I'd expect Michaels to either interfere in the match or start a program afterward with HHH. That would make RVD look weak if he needed HBK to beat HHH, but... a win is a win over HHH, I guess.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Triple H is being kept away from the world title race because that would mean jobbing to Brock. It seems they are planning on keeping the title on Lesnar for quite a while now. This is going to be depressing.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Undertaker/Brock is continuity. Most people on his board complain until it hurts about hot shot booking, etc. Yes, he beat Angle AND Benoit to get the shot, and that is not how I think he should have gotten it, but he lost the title without being pinned and therefore would want his revenge because Brock got the shot at SS. It only makes sense. Taker was an excellent champ and you knew this was going to happen. Storyline wise, it writes itself, so deal with it.
Guest Shanghai Kid 2002 Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I can't see why anybody would complain about HHH feuding with RVD. I mean RVD can continue to feud with guys like Eddy or Benoit, but that's not going to elevate him to the next level. Right now, RVD may be over, but he's not considered a main eventer. A feud with HHH could very well put him up to that status. As long as HHH doesn't squash him (which won't happen cause HHH with the IC title would be really stupid at this point). You could say that this might be the equivelent of Nash squashing Wrath, but you could also say that it may be the the same thing as the Macho Man/DDP feud from WCW where Macho totally elevated DDP to that main event level.
