Sorry, I meant to say Royal Rumble matches themselves. For example, Hercules particpating in the 30-Man Royal Rumble match in 1989 and opeing at WMV w/ Haku doesn't count. Sorry about the confusion.

Well, Owen is once again correct. Come to think of it, Ken Patera did it at Survivor Series 1987 and WrestleMania IV.

 

But the one I was thinking of since day one was . . . Savio Vega. He main-evented at the 8-man tag match at IYH: No Way Out of Texas, and came back to open things up at the 15-team battle royal at WrestleMania XIV.
