Guest B-X Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Thats a childish mentality, to be sure. A lot of people will just vent their anger without giving consideration to a proper way to express themselves. Then again, some people just dont give a shit.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 7, 2002 He did make a perfectly valid point about all the times people have wished death upon Triple H/Stephanie McMahon/whomever in other folders. It was obviously meant in jest--like any other internet death threat or wish or whatever--and I was personally pretty upset about how the entire scenario played out. Not because I was particularly fond of PerfectPlex, but because I'd rather this board not become overrun with morality watchdogs who report everything that offends them. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I have never wished death on anyone on this board. Although I did wish a genital defect on Michael Cole. It was the "I want Avril found raped and murdered" type things that seemed bad. It wasn't said in a humorous type way, which is rather disturbing.
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I'd rather this board not become overrun with morality watchdogs who report everything that offends them. Fine. Next time I'll just make a call to the FBI and let whoever it is spend the night in a federal prison.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Do you think you might be overreacting just a tad?
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Of course. But then again, you're still posting about the fully justified banning of a complete moron.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Because I don't believe it was fully justified. Banning him sets a precedent, which is basically that if you say something that upsets other people and you're not friends with a mod, you'll be banned. That's wrong. Banning should be reserved for people who are actually disruptive to conversation here, which he was not. This was a completely isolated incident, as far as I can tell. Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted September 7, 2002 He committed a crime. Which part of that sentence still eludes you? And frankly, I'm getting a little tired of the constant references to my offline friendship with Tom. You think that prevents Jingus, bps, 212, APO, Dames, Kahran, or anyone else from banning me if they want to? Kahran doesn't even like me, so what the hell are you whining about? Morality police? Favouritism? I find people who don't have anything better to do than to tell the mods how to do their jobs far more annoying.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted September 7, 2002 hmmm... Jingus, APO, Dames and bps21 are friends... YOU ARE ALL BANNED!!
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 7, 2002 (has an idea for a new kids show) Mods N' Friends! That wasn't intended to be a comment on this situation, it was just a neat title that came into my head. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I find people who don't have anything better to do than to tell the mods how to do their jobs far more annoying. Perhaps, but to paraphrase Goldwater's acceptance of the 1964 Republican nomination, annoyance in the defense of liberty is no vice. I do not care if what PerfectPlex did was a crime. I thought creating this thread was stupid, because although many of us are not fans of Avril, it seemed stupid to passionately hate her so much that you create a thread over her where you expect people to sait their sadistic impulses. Nevertheless from my point of view, all he did was make a couple of semi-offensive statements, which did not deserve a warning or a banning. This is not the Oxford debating society. Much more latitude should be given to people who might say something that's not oh so PC now and then. It's not a matter of telling the mods how to do their jobs, but if I feel that a mod has taken an erroneous course of action, I feel obliged to voice my opinion on the matter. I have no intention of pestering anyone about it, but I will state my point of view and leave it at that.
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Fair enough, but an Internet message board isn't a democracy, you have no First Amendment rights, and there is no court of appeal. State your "point of view" if you must, but don't expect anything to change as a result. You were never enfranchised in the first place.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Ummm back on topic- Losing Grip is starting to catch up with Naked for favourite song "Losing Grip" is good, but not THAT good. Plus, "Tomorrow" beats all the other songs on that CD. Period.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Losing Grip just has this coolness about it but Tomorrow is very good
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted September 7, 2002 "Tomorrow" is her most 'mature' song, plus I can relate to it... therefore, it ranks #1 with me.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 All this Avril talk, I must be missing out on something, really. Ah, well gimme MetallicA anyday ROCK ON MY BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted September 7, 2002 I like Avril AND Metallica... pfft. Although, Metallica is Guns N' Roses' bitch... but that's another discussion.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 well, I wouldn't disagree that GN'R are one of the greatest bands ever...Axl's ego was the problem. If he was half as nice a guy as James Hetfield then maybe...nah....MetallicA would still be better

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Tomorrow is a great song- listening to it now. But it just isn't punk enough for me. (Ducks tomatoes)
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 bob, that was a homorous post :throws tomato: The MetallicA glory comes from Ride the Lightning, and more specifically Master Of Puppets-two of the finest Hard Rock/Metal albums ever.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted September 7, 2002 Does/did Metallica do acoustic songs that much? I can't remember one, right now...
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 The odd one. "The Unforgiven" has acoustic parts, as does "Nothing Else Matters". I believe "Mama Said" is acoustic.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted September 7, 2002 "The Unforgiven" wasn't really acoustic... "Nothing Else Matters" is alright on the acoustic meter. Oh well.... either of those songs are better than GNR's acoustic ones, so HAH!
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted September 7, 2002 [Metal Mode] I don't wanna listen to no fuckin pussy acoustic music man!!! I WANT FUCKIN METAL DUDE [/Metal Mode] Seriously, I ain't gonna argue against Guns, coz I love em so..... but TallicA are better!
