Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I like Andrew. With Xander maturing and Anya getting less tv time he's been good for laughs.

Guest Cavi Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Here's one I have been pondering for a while now (I don't read the spoilers, so I have no idea on what really happens): Remember the prophecy from the end of Angel Season One? The Scroll of Aberjian? It stated that the vampire with the soul will fulfill his destiny and be granted human life because of it. We have two vamps with souls now, so... Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I was thinking the same thing. As soon as Spike got his soul I though "there goes the vampire with a soul" gimmick. You gotta wonder how far ahead Joss plans...Cause Dawn was in the works by the time season 3 was going
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I really think that Spike will be made human and live happily ever after with Buffy to end the show.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I really think that Spike will be made human and live happily ever after with Buffy to end the show. No way...no happy ending. I say Spike sacrifices himself to save Buffy, and then Angel overhears Buffy tell Spike she loves him.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Or maybe he's made human, but since he's 100's of years old he ages really quick to make up time and dies of old age?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Joss apparently has filmed various outcomes for the final eps.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 16, 2003 If they finish it off right Season 7 will be my new favorite. Yeah, it'll be #1 or #2 when it's all said and done, even if they don't end it right it's been solid all the way through.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 16, 2003 There is no way Joss is going to write an ending where they save the day and everybody goes home happily ever after. There's bound to be some MAJOR drama and sacrifice.

Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I missed the first 3 episodes but so far I think this season has been the weakest. The writing team seems to be suffering from a lot of the problems the WWE has. It's like stuff is written out of order. One week they're hyping up the seal, the next week it's completely ignored. Then 5 weeks later the seal is back and must be stopped. One week Spike is evil. Then it dies down. Then suddenly Giles is acting like they have to do something about it RIGHT NOW BAH GAWD~! Whatever happened to "Buffy won't choose you?" and all that other stuff with Joyce? Sure, there's still 4 more eps, but that stuff has been dropped so even if it is answered, it's going to be like it just came back up out of no where. Same with Jax's Eye. What exactly is The First trying to do? Are we EVER going to find out? The whole season feels like it's taken place in the Summers home with tons and tons of nameless SITs. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the season has been one big hype job for the final battle. It's like...we get it. SITs are going to die. Armageddon is coming. Blah blah blah. When is the First going to actually DO something instead of just rambling? It feels like they're stalling or they don't actually know what to do, so they just continue to hype it up. You got a sense of dread with like Mayor Wilkins and Glory. Not only did they talk about how powerful they are, they actually went out and did evil stuff too. The First is just nothing but hype. It's like it was written by totally different sets of writers who don't read each other's work. Maybe the last 4 eps will be amazing and save the season. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Dammit...I want to stay up for this thread alone. But I worked too long today and need sleep. Just hope I don't have any eye gouging dreams.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I think it has been very well written. The stuff you mentioned hasn't all been tied together yet. If the season ends and they still have that problem then you might be right, but even then sometimes it's nice to leave a few things open so that the fans can fill in the blanks and have their own happy ending if not everything comes out roses. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Yeah, looking back, this season should all make sense by the time it is over. I mean, who'da thunk the Troll/Anya, or Robot eps would have meant something in season 5? But in the end it did.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 16, 2003 But when is it going to be tied together? There's only 4 eps left. Are they just going to explain all of this stuff at once? I still don't even understand the seal. Is it the same as the hellmouth? Why is an ubervamp in it? Who's blood opens it? Anyone's? What's up with it? Why is it taking so long to find this stuff out? I don't get a vibe that it's supposed to be mysterious and that we're going to find out in time. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the writers themselves don't know or are stalling it out as long as they can. Also what's the deal with good characters having nothing to do? Giles, Anya and Xander are just dead weight now. They hardly ever do anything. Anya didn't even get to be in this ep. It's like they don't want to give them story arcs because they're running out of time.
Guest Cavi Report post Posted April 16, 2003 One of the main things I haven't like about this season has been the introduction of new characters. When they killed off Tara, I had a bit of fear they would bring in some new people...they ended up bringing in a slew of SiTs and whatnot. I'm fine with Andrew and Wood, as I think they rule, but the others, no thanks. This season was going to be a return to the roots, as the writers said, but I just don't get the Scooby-ish vibe when like Xander and Anya are no longer key players. Disregarding what may or may not happen with them, so far, they haven't had that much stuff to do outside of Anya letting go of her vengeance ways (which I thought was good). I want finality or whatever to that ship. Damn those SiTs. One other thing I haven't liked has been the lack of settings. I don't know what they could have done since the Magic Box is not so much a box now, but that place, Spike's crypt, they added to the atmosphere. Too much of the Summer's household, though again, they didn't have that much to work with. Whatever the case, I have total faith in Joss to deliver an incredibly dramatic finale. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I feel the urgency. After tonight I'm really pumped to see where this is going. I thought the seal was an entrance to the hellmouth. Jonathan was anemic (sp?) so bleeding him didn't work....actually I think Jonathan was never meant to open the seal. That was just a way of making Andrew into a killer. The blood from Spike was blood gathered during his killings.......or sacrifices to the First and that's why it opened the seal. I don't think the amount of stuff given characters have done per show is any different than other seasons. It's just that with the show ending we as fans want to see as much out of them as possible. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I think the addition of so many new characters actually helps us appreciate the bond the gang has. Like Xanders big speech. They are no longer young and naive, they are grown up and are imparting their wisdom on others who need it. You'd have to go through each eps to fully grasp the effect it will have in the end. Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I felt the urgency tonight for sure. Caleb has big potential to "save the season" if he's going to be the brawn behind The First's brains. But didn't Xander's blood open the seal too? And I thought the hellmouth was under Wood's office? Plus whatever happened to that shitty looking octopus puppet thing that came out and attacked Giles and them in Prophecy Girl and The Zeppo? Look at past seasons. Last season Xander actually had a story arc with Anya. Now his purpose is to hang around the house and become a pirate. It's a shame. I think the best stuff this season has been the "filler" or "different" kinds of eps. Like Storyteller, Killer in Me, Selfless, First Date and Lies My Parents Told Me. Those were great. The weak stuff has been when they just seem to hang out in the Summers houes hyping up The First. Like Get it Done and Bring on the night.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I'm kind of glad there aren't a lot of side story arcs this season. There doesn't need to be. There's a straight forward point to this season and side story arcs that don't fit into it would be distracting.
