And in the previews for next week didn't Caleb have both eyes gone? So maybe Xander does get some revenge.

Enjoyable ep. I'm so hyped for the finale. One thought - Willow with white hair. Evil Willow has dark hair. Guardian has white hair...

 

I wish Rona was around so she could get killed though.

I liked the ep and am really hyped for the finale...

 

 

What's the deal with Caleb and the First "merging"? Before it told Caleb he was "the only one strong enough to be my vessel" but I am thinking it's plan is to use Spike as it's vessel. That would explain why Spike was so important to it early on in the season.

Also loved the ending with the First possibly getting back into Spike's head again. I SO want all of the SIT's to die, especially after the opening with them. Christ, can't any of them at least punch? Damn...

I totally marked out for the wheelchair fight... Andrew... he needs his own show.

 

The explanation of the weapon I didn't really dig, but at least they acknowledged how they basically pulled it out of their ass.

 

Buffys convos with Spike and Xander were really really good too, even though she totally whored the 'you are my strength' line on both of em.

When Xander and Dawn were cleaning out the car and the crossbow was mentioned, Dawn spoke of an incident with Miss Kitty, and how she no longer uses crossbows because of it.

I think its cause the few lines she has are all annoying and rediculous. She obviously doesn't wanna be there or do any of it yet she was one of the most vocal SiT's during the fight with Buffy. Her character just screams, "I'm a total bitch....hate me"

 

And I still don't get the Miss Kitty Fantastico reference...what happened?

Miss Kitty Fantastico was Tara and Willow's cat in college. It just dispeared with no mention.

 

Now Dawn is saying there was an "incident" with Kitty involving a crossbow.

 

So the joke is that you can assume Dawn accidently killed the cat with a crossbow and that's why the cat left the show.

I think my appreciation of Andrew is growing more and more with every episode this season. The scenes with him and Anya tonight were just gold (and did anyone else think there was a bit of some sort of tension going on between them there for a few minutes? the friend I was watching with and I both commented on it).

 

And I totally marked out for Angel. Next week's episode is gonna be good. Too bad I'm gonna have to wait to see it.

Speculation- Since last year, Willows hair turned black when she went to the dark side, maybe Willows hair turns white because she accesses good magic.

 

And as a side note- with the town being deserted and everybody leaving, assuming the gang survives, where do they all go? I know Xander has his own businees as a contractor and can move onto the city, and Willow can always go stay with Giles in England again, but what about Buffy and Dawn? All they got is the house in Sunnydale, where do they go?

 

And on a morbid note- what about all of the loved ones they had to burry over the years? Do they just leave Jenny, Joyce, and Tara burried in a ghost town?

And that is a good observation about the good Willow having white hair, while the evil Willow had black hair.

 

I don't really like the whole Buffy/Angel kiss, something didn't seem right about it. Whatever it is, it just didn't seem right. They know that they can't be together, then why the fuck did they kiss? Because of the moment? It just didn't sit well with me.

 

I have a feeling that next weeks episode will be just as good as Becoming Pt 2. Something that big will happen, just like in Becoming. Whatever it is, will rock the house.

It's not actually the deus ex machina that some people think it is. In Joss Whedon's comic "Fray," the weapon is the last thing that links the Melaka Fray, the slayer of the future, to her past. It's also the last piece of wood on earth. So at least they didn't just think it up on the spot.

Am I the only one who thought tonight's ep was terrible? I mean, the end fight with Caleb was a freaking comedy bit once Angel showed up. Buffy's little speeches to Xander and Spike were lame. The explanation behind the Scythe of Death was cheesy. Dawn sucks. I did like the Andrew/Anya scene though. Oh, and the Buffy/Angel interaction was just silly. I mean, I thought maybe they were going to pass off the Caleb fight as some happy dream sequence, but yeah, guess that isn't happening. Just...ugh.

 

But yeah, I was the only one disappointed by this ep then?

I liked it. I somehow think the weapon is just a cool weapon and won't factor into the end as much as it seems.
