Guest TUS_02 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I just saw Passions again... HOLY SHIT! I don't remember it being that good the first time around. I mean... I loved it the first time, but... it was really surreal the second time. I was nearly in tears like 2 or 3 times during that ONE episode. I don't think it gets any better then that.. There's three things you don't do: you don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, and you don't write checks you can't back up. In closing, you WILL be bought! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I rewatched Passion tonight, too. Everytime I see it I subscribe more and more to the fact that this is basically a Joss episode and the Ty King guy was just in for the treatment. Every act is picture-perfect, and there's almost no flaw in the whole ep. The magic shop owner was a little bit flat acting-wise. That's it. So good.
Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted July 14, 2003 You know, it's comforting to know that in 30 years when I'm old and gray, this thread will STILL be going... Actually, I just thought about it and in 30 years I WILL be old and gray, and that's fucking depressing.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Why do people care that this thread is still going? Is it really hurting them? Starting another thread would be even worse. Especially as much as we talk about it. That thread would be pretty big within a couple of months. Thus making two big Buffy threads instead of one.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 This thread stays. Let's try to post topical things and not just troll in and out. This thread and the TNA folder are the only places that must remain clean on my watch. So add something or don't post.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I think ben stabbed Jinx He didn't die though. Jinx sorta just faded into the background of miniondom.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Yeah. If I recall, Glory did some sort of spell or act to keep Jinx alive so he could tell her about what Ben had said. I would assume he stayed that way, even though I don't think we saw him afterwards. Which was odd, because the minions had even greater prominence in the last few episodes while they prepared for the ritual. Oh well. Long live Jinx.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Season 5 owns for this reason. If you start with "Made to Love You" and show it to nearly anyone, they will want to watch the next ep...then the next...then the next...to the point that they will get hooked on the show. In no season did the show have THAT many good shows in order. I have gotten about 6 people hooked on the show with my "end of season 5 marathon". Every other season will have a throw away show in the middle of the great ones but this run was by far the best.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 If you like season 7s storyline (which I do, and am in the middle of watching over again for the third time now) every episode but "Him" is important to the overall story arc. Season 7 was like one big movie.
Guest TUS_02 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 The further along season 2 I get... the more impressed I am with it. Last time I went through it, I was drunk while watching disks 3,4, and 5. Pissed the HELL out of me. I can't get over how great Season 2 is.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 That's funny because the more I watch Season 2 the less I like it. I love the overall story and the main episodes that go with that story, but there are just WAY too many throw away episodes in that season that I feel take away from the story. Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I always gave season 5 a bad rap due to the horrid Buffy vs Dracula which, ironically, was re-written into a kick-ass fan fic. Mu only other problem with season 5 is that Glory was to much of a goof early in the season. It was like she wasn't really a threat untill the last few episodes whne she turned into a major bad-ass by brain-sucking Tara and killing hordes of knights. And the more I watch season 3, the more it is far and away the best season in my eyes. Season 6 is starting to over take season 2 for the number 3 spot behind season 5 IMO. (before you laugh, I only disliked 3 shows in 6...season 2 however...)
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Let's not get into lists again. They'll pretty much change every single time for all of us. ... ... ... ... ... 1. Season 7 2. Season 3 3. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 7,6,5 on the bottom? Looks like fazzle signed off right when the show got more grown up, serious and character heavy.

I guess, to defend Season 2 a smidge... most of the monster of the week episodes still dove into the main storyline. FOr example... in Halloween, Spike leads the kids to defeating Buffy. In I only Have Eyes for You... they managed to fit in some Angelus vs Buffy while not straying from the main story of the episode Im not going to rate the seasons because I haven't seen 5 yet and there are a couple of season 6 and 7 episodes I missed as well. Guest Mole Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Damn Youth, I thought you liked season 7 better than that. Season 3 Season 7 Season 2 Season 6 Season 5 Season 4 Season 1 I liked season 4 a lot, but those other seasons are just better. All I know is that season 3 is the BEST, and season 1 was the worst. The middle will always change.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Damn Youth, I thought you liked season 7 better than that. Hey man, I am a season 7 defender. But I'm gaining a new appreciation for 5. And my least favorite seaosn of Buffy is still better then most season of any other show.
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Please, someone explain this...OK, I can just about see people's love for Season 5(It doesn't appeal to me, but it does have a coherent structure) but for the love of all that's holy, how in the fuck does anyone put Seven and Six above Two and Three? How? I will stand up and defend the first eight episodes of Series Seven, because they were, you knw, good and I thought I was witnessing the rare sight of a great show actually regaining its greatness after turning to crap(Season Six for shitloads of reasons). But from 'Bring on the Night' onwards, with the fairly entertaining exception of 'Dirty Girls', Season Seven descended into a morass of horrifically bad plotting, writing and sad to say, acting. 'Touched' is one of the biggest piles of shite I've ever seen. How could such a mess possibly considered close to a season that had the whole Angelus arc or a season(3) that had very little in the way of bad episodes at all? LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I don't put 6 and 7 before 3, but I do with 2 because most of the season is filler episodes that suck. School Hard, What's My Line 1 & 2, Surprise, Innocence, B B & B, Passion, and Becoming 1 & 2 are the only really good episodes from Season 2. The rest are decent to horrible. I somewhat give honorable mention to Dark Age, Halloween, and Phases, but those aren't enough to make me come back to that Season over and over.
