Some AJPW storyline help

Recommended Posts

Guest Dangerous A

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some AJPW storylines or even provide a link to a site that has the 411.

I was wondering what was the deal with Misawa and Kobashi breaking up as a tag team. Why did they break the team up? When did they make this decision?

And it was the best thing that ever happened - since it gave Jun Akiyama the chance to shine as Misawa's new partner, and he hit a home run. But living up to your potential, and sustaining it, are two entirely different things.

Seriously, what the hell happened to Akiyama? I just watched New Years Giant Series '98 and there are points when Jun looks flat-out borred, which is made all the worse by the fact that he was challenging Misawa for the Triple Crown. Truly disheartening.

Probably becuz he wasn't getting pushed to the MOON AND BACK like he did in 2000...oh well. Jun came back for a while and had some good matches with Kobashi, so I'll leave it with that.

His matches with Kobashi and Misawa in 2000 were good, but his GHC Title reign was marked by poor effort and lack of heat. Seeing someone behave that way after showing so much fire and potential in '96 is rather sad.

Exactly. Which is why people saying he's great now, or he's having great matches now, is a joke.
