Perhaps if he studied and mixed the characteristics of two former sucessful wrestlers who used the cocky arrogent heel gimmick- Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels- he may go places with this. Maybe it was wrong to call Jeff the next Shawn Michaels, maybe he's the next Marty Janettey after all. And Benoit's video was COOL

That's what made Flair a great heel, the fans wanted anyone to beat him.

I guess being on Raw is enough to drive a man to drink or use painkillers however. Matt must have raided the Rock's old wardrobe, what with those $500 shirts and all.

I'm really digging his new character, even before last night (since I guess something important happened? I missed Smackdown so I have no idea). I think "Mattitude" is a catch phrase that's goofy enough to get over, and the "cocky loser" character is awesome.

I used to be a Matt Hardy hater back when the Hardyz were cool (99-00) because he wasn't the spot machine Jeff was (2nd rope leg drop is extreme?). Now that Jeff has totally broken down and Lita is out, I now see that Matt is the better wrestler overall. It's also going to benefit him that he's now on Smackdown, away from the lumbering dinosaurs on RAW. Since his new persona is actually getting over, maybe some face heat can get shifted to the cruisers when he wrestles them.

As a matter of fact, it's better than his face gimmick, which sucked ass in my opinion. I'm hoping that when Lita returns, she decides to turn heel and align herself with Matt. It would be interesting to see both Matt and Lita as heels.

I've never liked him, but with a character and a few singles matches he might turn out good, apparently he's known for staying late, studying tapes etc.
