Bubba went to throw HHH through the table, but HHH went crashing head first through the far left end of the table only. Most of the impact was on HHH's ear and the side of his head.

He tried to put HHH through a table, and clipped the side of it instead. Only the corner broke, and it looked like HHH got tagged in the ear region. They redid the spot, this time with RVD going to the top rope and leg dropping him.

It was Bubba that got injured. Did you not see him fall down in pain and hold his elbow/arm at the side of the ring and he never got up again? He would have redid the spot if he was ok. RVD improvised and did the move through the table for him.
