Guest J*ingus Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 DEA agents are en route to the houses of everyone who's downed Flair-Steamboat here, because they have shown clear proof of being on crack. So, anyone got anything less than ***** for Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue 6/9/95?
Guest Angle-plex Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 I think every agrees that Undertaker vs Bossman: Hell in a Cell was *****. Really, there will always be at least one person that doesn't agree a match is *****.
Guest New World Order of Wrestling Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Many people think the Rey/Eddy match HH97 was *****. Thats probably the only NA match I've seen practically everyone praise.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 I never heard a bad word for Flair vs Steamboat Clash VI and Flair vs Steamboat Wrestlewar. Nor did I hear a bad word for the Benoit/Malenko vs Flock match. Also Flair vs Windham on Worldwide.
EL DANDY~! Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Watch out now, FLair/Windham's Worldwide GEM was never seen by a lot of people on this board. They don't know of it's greatness...
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Which Flair/Windham match are you guys discusing? Dates? Anyone? Saw Flair/Windham from Crocket Cup '87. Great, great match, from what I remember. I'd have to watch it again to see what I'd rate it, but it seemed in the ****1/4 star range. Benoit/Malenko vs. Raven/Saturn isn't *****. I love that match to death, and it's easilly the last great tag to happen in the US that I've seen, but it's more around ****1/4-1/2, in my opinion. And, currently, I'm of the opinion that Rey/Eddy is *****. That might change, though.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Flair vs. Windham from Worldwide. It was 45 minutes and the whole damn show. Sometime in 1987 and hard to find, but I know it's on a few Flair comps floating around.
Guest wolverine Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 There is only one match that I've seen a universal ***** rating for and that's Tamura vs. Kohsaka 6/27/98. The thing is, not that many people have actually seen the match. I hope to join the ***** club when I see it in a few days.
Guest pete Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 The Flair/Windham match that was on Worldwide I have on a video called Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Vol. #2 Ric Flair Diamonds are Forever. This was released in 1998.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 There is only one match that I've seen a universal ***** rating for and that's Tamura vs. Kohsaka 6/27/98. The thing is, not that many people have actually seen the match. I hope to join the ***** club when I see it in a few days. Everyone who's in to that style, more specifically. If you showed it to a cross section of fans, you'd probably get a lot of different reactions.
Guest godthedog Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 well since we're discussing rarely-seen matches, i can take the opportunity to pimp the hart/flair iron man match again.
Guest Tim Cooke Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 All the Windham v Flair matches were very good. I feel that Windham got more out of Flair than Steamboat did 2 yrs later. Tim
Guest godthedog Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 [vincent vega] that's a bold statement. [/vincent vega] of course, i prefer flair/bret to flair/steamboat, which is almost as bold.
