EL DANDY~! Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 "Former WCW cruiserweight champion Ultimo Dragon, who was seriously injured several years ago and retired from active competition, is in the midst of a comeback. Recently, Jim Ross met with the Dragon on behalf of WWE, and had a long talk about possibly working for the promotion. If the Dragon is able to come back and work, he is apparently part of WWE's 2003 plans." credit: WWE.com, 411wrestling.com Ladies and gentlemen...Rey/Ultimo Dragon...WHO COULD HAVE THUNK IT?
Guest Angle-plex Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 I can't wait to see how WWE uses Dragon...... ........on Velocity.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Velocity=BEST SHOW EVER....................... Ultimo Dragon in the WWE? Smells like a plan.... Yes, I was exaggerating about Velocity
Guest art_vandelay Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 "This is Ultimo Dragon, Velocity #1 announcer!"
Guest Insanityman Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Ah, I can see it now... "Next up on Velocity; Ultimo Dragon vs Albert~!"
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I think Ultimo Dragon is one of those guys who's just to good for america. That would be like Kawada joining the nWo or something.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 J.R. called him "Ultimate Dragon" for which he must die. "This is Ultimo Dragon, Velocity #1 announcer!" Funaki and Ultimo Dragon, The Japanese Announce Team, anyone?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Treat him right, ya WWE morons. Dragon on TV..means I watch for once.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Stupid. Go watch WW III '96, if you want a good Rey/Dragon match. This, I don't need to see. Whatever.
Guest midnight_burn Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 He'd be jobbing to Mark Henry a week after arriving.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Ultimo Dragon will bring cred to the CW Division. WWE should start a deal with Toryumon where workers can go for tours there and some can come here for stints. Magnum TOKYO vs. Shannon Moore would rule all.
Guest Mad Dog Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I hope Dragon stays as far away as possible from the WWE. I don't want to see him and buried and have his style butchered like every other cruiser. If he has to come back to America I hope he goes to the NWA where he can just be himself.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Because NWA can't pay him.
Guest Mad Dog Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 NWA can pay him. Just not quite as much. I just don't want to see him misused and get grounded. But if he does end up in the WWE I won't complain.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 No, seriously NWA can't handle another big salary now, and if he comes back he'll do it for the right price ONLY.
Guest TheHulkster Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 This is the best news i've heard in a while. Ultimo Dragon coming back in general was great news, but coming back to US TV each week? I just want to see him run down after a Rey Misterio match and beat the piss out of him starting a 6 month feud. A guy can dream can't he? Imagine what Ultimo Dragon Vs Kurt Angle would be like.
Guest Mad Dog Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 True. I just hate seeing my fav WCW guys get ruined by Vince & Co.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I haven't seen the Ultimo Dragon wrestle to be honest. Though, it would be good to have a new face in the cruiserweight division. I like the idea of an Ultimo Dragon vs. Mysterio fued as well.
Guest art_vandelay Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I wonder if they'll be able to get La Majistral over as a finisher in the fed.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 To do that, he has to upset someone with lots of crediblity with it. Does anyone see this happening? People said Rey would freshen the Cruiserweight division, too. The WWE will never ever have a succesfull Cruiserweight division, because of their refusal to do it the only way that it has ever worked: Keeping them seperate.
EL DANDY~! Posted September 28, 2002 Author Report Posted September 28, 2002 Maybe they would let him use the Dragon Sleeper instead of La Magistral...that would be better, I think.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 Maybe they would let him use the Dragon Sleeper instead of La Magistral...that would be better, I think. What about the Top Rope Dragon Rana!? I want to seem him do that again. But of course we all might be getting ahead of ourselves, just because he gets in the ring again doesn't mean he'll be in the same shape. He may be limited because of his injury. EDIT: I believe he also did the DRAGON SUPLEX! a lot in WCW too.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted September 28, 2002 Report Posted September 28, 2002 I hope Ultimo stays well away from WWE, he might have a couple of good matches, but sooner rather than later, Vince will fuck it up and make him look shit.

Guest Pop Culture God Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 WWE = wrestling for dumbies No, I remember agreeing with them at the time because even though that move is badass, they can't risk another injury to a top card performer. (In this case it was Jericho.) Hell if UT can't do the Tombstone, why should Benoit do the significantly more dangerous Dragon Suplex?
Guest Brian Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 What he needs is the Tiger Suplex.

Must go and get SummerSlam 2000 for Dragon Suplex.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Don't forget the Main Event Triple Threat, and Shane McMahon bumping like a madman.
